I kind of wish they would've just went with the scroll wheel. It's much more tactile & familiar. Rubbing a solid shoulder button wouldn't feel the same.
Imagine if that second SKU is a version where the colours on the joy cons are inverted, so the bits that are currently blue/orange are black and the main bodies of them are blue/orange.
I've no idea how accurate your predictions are, but the touch sensitive shoulder buttons could be really interesting and could potentially replace the need for analogue triggers - I'd say analogue triggers would feel more natural especially in driving games but the shoulders could definitely work
6:33 THAT'S WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT ..... I literally everytime see people arguing about switch 2 new color pattern, and how it sucks that it's not colorful anymore, but why don't anybody pay attention to the fact that switch got announced with gray controllers too
I presume the magnetic strap accesory would have some sort of moquette part, because using it as a mouse when the surface is plastic might most likely scratch depending on the surface
Love the use "Glide", especially the timing and volume of the brass at 5:51. 😆 Touch-sensitive shoulder buttons would be such a smart way to implement "scroll wheels" The buttons seemed to wrap around more of the controller this time around, so I wonder if that's related. On Sakurai's channel, he talked about scroll wheel buttons before. Maybe he'll finally get his wish!
Fantastic video Endo! You mentioned a lot of things I havent really thought about! Ngl that realization of the sticks and sides of the joycons being permanently blue and orange is slightly disappointing, same with the microphone not being on the joycons themselves. Im sure a lot of games will be played either joycon only or preferably with joycons, I hope Nintendo will allow us to connect a headset at least during TV mode. Also I think for scrolling it would simply just be the analog stick on the joycon, since I think touch sensitive shoulder buttons might be too expensive to engineer and might be slightly overcomplicated for something the analog stick can just do (although it isnt a perfect solution by any means).
I'll say it to the mountains and PRAY nintendo thinks this through about the colours on the joycons not always having blue and orange accents. Because 1. Itll simply look damn stupid, not every colour matches with blue and certainly not orange. 2. Not everyone likes the blue and orange accents as their preferences, like me. I like it objectively and it looks cool, but blue and orange are not my colours and aren't my style so I dont want them on my console personally.
Oh my god I came up with SO many of these myself as well, all the way down to the C button being multifunctional. I’m calling it right now that the C button will quite literally be the “Switch” button, and the key to switch 2 is not just switching what and where you play, but HOW you play as well. Controller? Cursor? Cast? Connect? All of them. The buttons and the joystick also looked hella suspicious, so I was looking into it as well, and I’m REALLY hoping that they use the “magnetic resistance” joysticks that they patented just a year back. With viscosity controlling joysticks. (You can see more about it on my own video haha) I really do think there’s merit to the scroll wheel feature, especially since why the heck did they make the first shoulder button so long? Curious if the buttons thing will pan out as well. I’m so glad you made a video about all of this though, cause I could never do these ideas justice in a video of my own 😅😅
So they'll just add magnets then? The rail system didn't stop them from adding rails to every joycon accessories for the first switch, what's gonna stop them from adding magnets? That or they'll use the latch system for the new straps. But I'm willing to bet magnets arent that relatively expensive and difficult to add.
@@EnygmaV magnets are a lot more expensive than plastic rails. It would make much more sense to have magnets in the joycon and metal on the accessories instead of the other way around, you wont have to open the switch to replace magnets when they get old, just replace joycons
If you wanna use the built-in mic for voicechat, while in docked mode, that's fine. The problem is: that microphone is right next to your TV's speakers, so while it would pick up your voice, it would also pick up the game's audio and your friend's voice and their game's audio, nonstop echoeing so it is my FAVORITE definition of *not good* -Scott Daniel Woziniak.
my fAvOrItE time between announcement and launch is when every day there's 30 different youtubers posting "10 things you didn't notice about this trailer that's already been scrutinized to death" "Will Switch 2 games perform better?" "Switch 2 already sucks" "Nintendo reportedly developing remake of one of their popular games" "Why Nintendo is dying" "Switch 2 will be the best console ever because of purely speculative opinions"
I hope the Switch 2 can stream to the TV instead of having to always dock it. This way dual screen games can be ported like some DS, 3DS and Wii U games.
@EndoRUclips ik it’s preference but I LOVE clicky controller buttons they feel more expensive and exact idk it’s a sensory thing mushy buttons just aren’t as satisfying for me and can feel cheap I mean like mouse click buttons ig
@Critr8710 i'm with ya there, the whole reason i NEVER used the pro controller and ALWAYS used the joycons was solely bc i enjoyed the snappy buttons a lot more, feels more responsive, somehow... (i also can't really place it!)
I would hate it if the switch 2 all had the default blue and orange accents to their system and joycon. Nintendo has been flopping at their color choices, even on the switch 1
I'm so thirsty for Nintendo content and this is perfect for now!!! Really looking forward to the April Switch 2 Direct and the potential February Switch 1 Direct!!!
I hope there’s a new UI because the old UI it just shows the games and it shows on the bottom settings and all that I hope there’s a new UI that looks super cooler
I'm just surprised (and a bit disappointed) they didn't do much to change the ergonomics of the joycons. They're not exactly comfortable, mostly just flat with small curve at the top. And using the new joycons as a mouse would be really uncomfortable unless there's an attachment to make it better fit that position. They'll have to have an attachment, right?
_Casting button_ Enables you to cast your switch to the TV or monitor that your dock (or Nintendo casting device) is connected to. Provides a second screen for 3ds online and similar WiiU functions.
if the C button is really just a c button with no special feature like on the wii nunchuck, why would they hide it in the reveal trailer? if its just a regular button as a, b, x, y etc. then they would present it i think🤔 so i guess there has to be a bit more to it
I don't think its a c button at all. I think its a mouse trackpad that way you can still use the mouse function while the joycons are still connected. The Lenovo legion go S model has a small trackpad and i think that's that the so called c button actually is.
*what if the secret c button might be instead some smalll mouse trackpad to play fps in portable mode? Nah that seems too small. And we already know how uncomfortable such thing is since the new 3ds nub*
if they realy have a mouse. im gonna have a few pair of joy cons.. ima gett an orang and blue to match the color. the inside color stayss same. its gone throw off my red joy cons. i can see threm droppin another switch
I'm just wondering why anyone would think a tall thin controller would work well as a mouse... I mean maybe I'm wrong, but I can already envision it tipping all over the place with the slightest bit of pressure.

Touch sensitive trigger sounds actually like something Nintendo would do!
I kind of wish they would've just went with the scroll wheel. It's much more tactile & familiar. Rubbing a solid shoulder button wouldn't feel the same.
@corey2232 I get that but I really don't picture myself playing a normal game and constantly having a scroll wheel instead of my trigger
it's something playstation did first, and then quickly abandoned. only very few games used it and it was meh in the end
I bet the c button is to stream to the dock wirelessly
I see the benefits of just going with “Switch 2”, but Im calling it the “Super Nintendo Switch”.
I’m hoping we get a switch 2 pro at some point called “Super Nintendo Switch 2”
Thank god they didn't name it Super Nintendo Switch. It would be Wii U all over again.
Thats smart
No the wii u was sold poorly because they thought it was an add-on because the ad showed only the gamepad and not the console @@edsilva9481
@@edsilva9481 If people could differentiate between the NES and SNES, they could differentiate between the Switch and the "Super Switch"
This has to be the best switch 2 analysis ive seen
I've been waiting for your reaction since the trailer dropped.
Why did i think this was official nintendo 😭
The white line.
The Wii had character themed wiimotes. That would be cool for the joy cons
I have no idea why but these custom renders just make me feel happy, they all just seems so lively
This is by far the most accurate sounding break down and analysis of the switch 2. Everything you said sounds like it could be legit 💯

Huh, that last one is a pretty smart alternative to that patent. Never even thought about that.
Bro, you might be onto something.
The mous wheel shoulder buttons would be crazy.
I'm really digging your ideas.

Mechanical buttons.
They last longer.
I think C stands for Click, fits the whole mouse theme.
Ill come back when it released

The LR button is longer, so it seems likely that's the touch sensitive trigger. If that's true, it would make the Joy-Con more valuable and i love it!
