Hey man me and my friend Andrew love your videos and have been following your advice on striper fishing. We fished the Providence and Seekonk River a few times this year with no luck. Hoping we could go fishing with you so you can show us how it's done.
So after a little research the fish are diseased. They have a sort of "Fish Ich" and possibly some bacterial infection; which can be caused by factors including rapid temperature and pH fluctuations. It would have been ideal to just remove the fish from the system as to not endanger more fish but catch and release you know? I would like to know what setup you were using, that reel looks familiar.. Great vid anyways.
it looks like this disease that my dads aquarium fish would catch from time to time when he introduced new fish to the tank etc... the disease is called ick.
Hey bro I am from this area and looking to know where to park without getting a ticket?? I know that's an issue in this spot. Any help would be great thanks and great videos.
Nice video and great set-up. I have a 9wt white river fly reel for bass, want to try fly for striped bass. Just curious if its cool to use my freshwater reel in salt. Sound pretty stupid but just want to know other people personal opinions on it. Thanks
I use fw stuff in the salt all the time. Nice thing about a fly reel is that, even if you dunk it or get sand in it, you can take the spool out and rinse the whole thing with freshwater. Spinners and conventional fw reels get dunked in salt, you really need to open them up to rinse, clean, and re-lube them.
I fish stripers on the fly and spinning gear extensively in Nova Scotia never seen or heard of anything like those fish had looks almost like " Ick" common in fish like gold fish that live in such large numbers in close proximity ....either way never a good thing to see .... Keep hooking up , cheers
Some advice. The more you share where you fish, the less you will have the spot to yourself. It looks like you put in a lot of time for your fishing. Please respect the hard-earned knowledge you and others have gained about fishing spots by encouraging others to learn themselves, not showcasing wherever you go.
catching stripers on the fly is is great way to pass the time if there isn't any salmon to catch, but those are some nice chunky fish

Wow ok thanks for the info. Now I know. the fly setup was a 10wt sage fly rod paired with an Islander LA 4.5 Fly reel.

Caught a striper with the same looking disease a few years back in the bay of fundy.
Do you know any spots near east Greenwich to catch some stripers
Gime me the address of the place
I'm afraid that all fish are going to die, just as all of us. Only thing is when and how.
let its mouth go to revive it
You shouldn't have thrown those fish back. They looked diseased. Don't want it to spread to the others.
