- Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd speaks to the media after his team fell to the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of the 2024 NBA Finals.
From game 2 it was obvious that this was going to Boston's season. The speed and athleticism of the players were phenomenal, no notable errors, sharp shooting by everyone from all over the court. So congrats.

The Mavericks need a better bench with more offensive rebounding, and a big one is playing better team defense.
Great job to guys who had only played together for 4 months. Getting to the finals in such a short time is phenomenal.

Kidd's probably going to be slightly haunted by this at some point if they never get back to the Finals. Doncic & Irving the so called Greatest Duo Ever should have played better tbh. Lively, Jones and Green played WAY better in game 5.
Terrible coaching…how is not getting slammed
The series would have been totally different with the real Kyrie. He needed therapy to get him past his Boston phobia. Without Kyrie’s leadership, the rest of the team was lost. Kidd should have lessened his minutes when he saw there was an obvious problem. This series proves Luka still needs another star running mate. Paul George or Demar DeRozen could have made up for Kyrie. But I’m very excited and optimistic for the future. The team will be great next year.
I agree about the Irving leadership. He is a veteran All Star he needs to shoe more of it and be more of a floor leader and competitive force. As far as Dallas is concerned i don't really thinkbthey will make it here next year. Don't be shocked if they bounced in the first or second round next year by teams like Denver, Okc, Phoenix, Minnesota or Sacramento in that order.
@@gintorino4616 Luka is the first player in NBA history to lead the entire 2024 playoffs in points, assists, rebounds, and steals. He’s 25. Derek Lively is 20. Hardy is 21. Green is 22. Gafford and PJ are 25. That’s their top 6 players. The Mavs will start a dynasty next year. Just wait.
@@jessief2048 ok i know they are young all i'm saying is that the west is packed. There are a lot of good teams Jokic is a trip dub monster and Murray is an assasin. Ant man and Gobert want their revenge. And the Okc Thunder are also young led by MVP runner up Shai Gilgeous-Alexander they will be back too. And don't forget about teams like the Kings, Lakers, Suns and Pelicans who could shock everybody. I agree Dallas should be back but like i said i wouldn't bet 300 dollars that they would be back that's for sure because the west is PACKED.
This team is never getting back to the finals. This was Dallas chance. West is gonna be a lot worse for Dallas next year

Not even a Celtics fan lol. Yall actually beat my team the clippers, I mainly did it cause I made a bet with a close friend of mine who’s a die heart mavericks fan and he was running his mouth a little too much so I was definitely talking trash. But we’re all sports fans trash talking happens all the time. Luka will eventually win a title , just gotta get more pieces around him.

Kidd was very good in the playoffs but Mazzulla ran circles around him in the finals. Can’t expect Luka to overcome bad coaching and a bad Kyrie all while being hurt.
Bad coaching? No. The Celtics just had more firepower in offence and defence.
The biggest fault i saw in the Mavs was that they can't shoot FTs. At all.

Kidd was garbage. Defensive breakdowns all over the place. Little discipline.

Dallas has a good team. Their issue is their starters besides Luka and Kyrie and their bench are not consistent. Look at game 4, every Dallas player was on! If they can get more consistent offense from those players, then Dallas will be hard to beat. The Celtics starting 5 and their top 3 bench guys are exceptional shooters. It sucks as a player when your Luka going against Pritchard and the guys burying 3's on you. Its a constant barrage of points against and its demoralizing

Mavs were all beat from going against the best in the west. Luka was exhausted and playing injured. It was a an exhausted team going against a team that is full of energy after beating injured teams in the east
