    After the Postle incident, a friend and I were talking, and both decided that if you have perfect information in an "imperfect" game, you actually have to be a BETTER player to win long-term because you have to know what makes sense and what doesn't. It would've likely been easier for this guy to win in standard hold-em rather than Stud as the community cards would have provided no damning evidence as to his own hand-strength. But if I saw a guy in Stud fold 4 face-up clubs to raggy-looking hand that reveals a fullhouse, my alarm bells fire like mad.

      That's why the best game to cheat in is 5-card draw where no cards are visible at all.

    • @matthewedwards9423
      @matthewedwards9423 27 дней назад +2

      You don't need to be that good at poker to get away with cheating. You do have to understand the game you're playing, but not at elite level. What you don't need is an ego. The people who get caught are the ones who want to look good, they crave attention just as much as money. There must be a ton of people out there successfully cheating because they aren't greedy and prefer to remain anonymous.
      I'm not very good at poker, certainly by elite standards, but let me see what everyone has and I'll easily make enough money to live a comfortable life, but not enough for people to notice me.

    They only had a few weeks at best to keep the scam going on the origonal set of marked cards. Casinos change them frequently, usually due to wear, but also in cases where they suspect cheating. Did Parmasean constantly mark cards so his crew could keep thos going, or did they do one big haul and try to keep going until it fizzled out?

  • @Lithilic
    @Lithilic Месяц назад

    For all their sophistication, it seems that most of the cheats don't think long term about a sophisticated betting strategy that doesn't raise suspicion. Seems like you could avoid a lot of heat just by doing an 80% win rate instead of 100%. You had a good night- not the night of a lifetime night after night, particularly in a game like poker where your "luck" could be attributed to skill to a large extent.
