Looking into getting a 05 cobalt but I don’t to over pay. There’s one for sale nearby where I live. The dude is asking $3,500, 226,000 miles( negotiable). I researched similar cars online & on KBB. Do you guys think $2-$2.5k is a decent range to work out a deal on ?
I drove one for 18 years. The engine is very reliable, but if you mod the pulley then expect the supercharger to wear out faster. I put over 200k on mine, but it just isn't worth fixing up at this point. I would highly recommend rebuilding the supercharger on any high millage one. The teflon starts to break down and it loses boost. Everything else about the car is cheap though. The wheel hop is also ridiculous once you start adding more HP to it. It really made no sense to put a supercharger on a front wheel drive car. It is a good track car, but besides the novelty of being a supercharged 4 banger there isn't much else to get excited about. Back in the day this car came out around the end of the era when everyone was all hyped about modding 4 bangers. This car tried to get the attention of those who wanted a mod friendly car. Not many people bought them because they came out later and it wasn't much of a charge from the Cavalier. They can be hard to find, but most all of them have been abused and driven into the ground. They can require a good bit of work to get back to their full potential. It can be a fun car, but like I said everything except the engine on this car is not great. If you plan to heavily mod it then it is a good project platform, but you will want to replace a lot of the factory parts. GM cut corners on everything but the engine. This came out right before they went bankrupt and it is very obvious they were trying their best to save money when they made it.

Got my 05 ss s/c for 1900 with only 130k
Lets race
Looking at these comments I think I got scammed getting min with 155k miles for $2500
That ain’t too bad if it’s in good condition, average price where I’m at is around 4-6k for a manual with 100-120k miles
Boo u sold it already i love my 2009 cobalt ss turbo
