We are, like you, northerners from MN, and my mother made Jello salads. She used celery, carrots, walnuts.

This is so funny, loved it!!! wouldnt eat the salad for sure but loved the delivery. I remember these jellied salads as a kid and learned my lesson quick....never ever eat jello with anything in it.... ever! lol

I grew up in a very mixed cultured little town. It was and is oilfield based with beef ranches dotted here and there, so one year your neighbors are from the south the next they are from the east, etc. Depending on how many oil or gas well were drilled. One year after walking past half a dozen congealed, but extremely varied salads, at a church supper, one long term Wyoming gentleman announced to one and all that food did not have to be suspended in gelatin to be tasty! Not that he thought vinegar was tasty!! You guys are a hoot!! The kids did what I did, duck and run, and fib... they served a big lunch at school today, I'm good!

This video was great! Kevin’s reactions were hilarious. Sorry, but I will NOT be saving the recipe nor making it. Our maid used to make a congealed salad with lime jello, cottage cheese & pineapple & it was delicious. I was just asking my sister earlier today if she remembered how to make it.
