Wow! That's great to know! The people in town told me they had been taken down so I didn't even bother walking around to look for them! I hope to return one day so now I'll know!
So much fun - thanks for posting this! It was on our bucket list to visit Juliette and eat at the Whistle Stop Café, and we finally got to do it in March! We just posted our video about it (check it out if you like). We even got to see the caboose from the train scene (when Idgie & Ruth throw food to the residents of Troutville) while on a hike in Stone Mountain! 🌸
You're wrong! Sorry honey but Fried Green Tomatoes was made in Senoia, Georgia, very near my hometown and l was there when that movie was made! Loved that movie!❤ ❤❤❤
Actually, not wrong. Not sure why you would say that. I am definitely aware of where it was filmed as I do my research. 😊 The restaurant is indeed in Juliette, although the building was not actually a restaurant at that time. The house and railroad, however, is in Senoia, which I actually included in the video. Have a great day!
The restaurant and storefronts of the fictional Whistlestop town are in Juliette GA, which is where she's at - she is NOT WRONG. If you watched the movie you would know. I oughta get Sipsey and Big George make you into BBQ
The Whistle Stop cafe that Fannie Flagg wrote was is based on the Irondale Cafe near Birmingham Al where she grew up
Yes they do mention a couple times in the movie that they are in Alabama. They just filmed it in Georgia.
This was so much fun to watch! You did such a nice job with the video. It's one of my favorite movies.
Thank you so much Lori! I’m glad I could put a smile on your face with this one! ☺️
