  • Here is a Vid from my DSL 100, which is still one of my favorite Tubeamps, because it's cheap (€800,- in Europe) and sounds great!
Stepping through some Sounds in this Vid.
Apart from a compressor, no plugins or effects were used during guitar recordings. For the Stereo Effect of the guitarsound, i just doubled the Tracks on my DAW.

Best demo of the DSL I've seen. Properly recorded, great playing.

I absolutely think the DSL100HR is completely underrated. I have one, and I play it right along side the JCM800. I will tell something I found out the hard way. You will most often find the DSL40CR in music stores. The DSL40CR cost around $950. The DSL100HR only cost $200 more.

I just picked up a DSL100H and played it back to back for hours against my Rockerverb MK2 which is worth tons more...At the end of the day I can only keep one and I am going to keep the Marshall ......and Ive always been an Orange guy. That's how good this amp is! Apparently heat is a killer for these so I mounted 2 computer fans on top of the amp to draw the heat away hoping it keeps the tubes happy and the board from frying.

it can stand the heat, but the fan thing is a good idea 👍

I love my DSL100H... today I ordered a new kit of tubes pre and final power.... I'm very looking forward to hear it after the replacement.

I have the Dsl100 and i picked up a Marshall PEDL90012 footswitch. The LED lights work , but its not switching channels or turning on/off the FX loop. Any suggestions?, be very much appreciated .
    Thanks and cheers!

Your Rock sound is very professional sounding! Please send me a copy of your signal chain so I can get that sound please ! We play a lot of funk, motown , and contempoary Jazz. and some classic rock where I will need to get that heavy sound. I have some of the same pedals , Boss
delay, chorus and two overdrives ,a noise suppressor but no Friedman distortion ! should I also purchase a reverb pedal. Are all your pedals going to the effects loop or the regular traditional way? I was thinging about getting the Mxr 5150 with built in noise gate instead of the friedman? Your thoughts please?

Why a compressor when youre showcasing the tone of the amp?

to compensate for differences in volume when recording.

Have to be careful though of bias drift in these. I play for a living. The circuit boards are thin and from heat the copper in the board moves. Marshall has redone this style board at least 15 times. I love the amp! I have it being modded now with an off board that is beefier so the heat is not an issue. Marshall USA warranty is a joke. Non existent. The warranty center recommended by Sweetwater are so far behind they won’t even look at my amp. Again love the sound and I use it with a 1960A cab. In the mean time I am using a 1981 Peavey Mace that still works! My next amp will be the Handwired 1959SLP. Easier to maintain.

Hey! I've never had that much of a problem with the heat and have played 150+ shows with it for sure. Here in Austria/Europe we have a great service from the Marshall distributor! The 1959 Plexi is also great but a little harder to play than the DSL.

@@michilynn Yeah the SLP is touchy. Been playing since 1973. Used to play those and Fender Twins dimed! Cannot do that anymore! Lol! No place will allow it! The sound was great though!

The board issue was common in the older dsl100 models but the dsl100hr is a different design. Or are you saying these have a board issue? If so, ive never heard that.
