I'm sorry to learn that this lady passed away. Having said that she was an entitled and irrational person who wrongly seemed to think that people owed her something. God bless her poor kids.

“They aren’t hurting nobody”. Doesn’t even consider that they are destroying private property. Or that they commit crimes to raise money for drugs. Or that tax payers are having to pay her medical costs and housing costs.

She looks like a mix of Sid Haig and Big Lenny.

I'm so sad to read that her and her husband both passed away. This is a horrible epidemic, this fentanyl (and other drugs)... I wish she could have gotten the help she talked about--the kind where they put you in a medically-induced coma until your body has stabilized.

It obviously doesn't feel like it in the moment, but the physical withdrawal is the _easy_ part. Getting through the crippling mental agony (PAWS) that can last years, is the real struggle.
It's common for addicts to get this idealized form of treatment in their mind, then using that as an excuse (I hate using this word here, but it's not wrong) for not getting clean immediately/when they should. "I'll get clean as soon as [Option XYX] becomes available, to me." It's also extremely easy to talk about how much you want to be clean when you're high as balls...
I haven't touched an opiate/opioid in the better part of a decade, and I still get PAWS semi-regularly.

@CNYKnifeNut yup. I know people on methadone for years. Hey at least they aren't on the street and are pretty successful. The way I look at it is, I'm on TRT. Testosterone Replacement Therapy bc I have a need for it. Diabetics need insulin, people with Fibromyalgia, Crohns, Cancer, Heart Disease etc need long term, lifelong meds. If someone needs longterm lifelong meds like methadone, it's fine. JUST GET HELP. HOLD DOWN A JOB AND LIVE A HEALTHY LIFE ON METHADONE!
