- Alex Murdaugh addressed his only living son, Buster Murdaugh, at his sentencing for financial crimes Tuesday.
Disgraced South Carolina lawyer and convicted murderer Alex Murdaugh appeared in court to be sentenced for his financial crimes.

I ẁ something proves his innocence mainly for Buster and his family! Secondly, because SLED and the state attorneys lied to the grand jury to get the indictment. That has been weighing on me since the trial that the people that are supposed to uphold the highest standards of the law and get caught lying and they aren't made to at a bare is made to start over is crazy to me, but they without the lies would not have made their story stick. Makes me feel if i was in the wrong place and at their convenience I might be the next one lied on by law enforcement and the state attorneys and have a trail sitting over me
The destruction caused here by one person is absolutely astounding. It's a lesson in how lying and fraud destroys lives irreparably. Very sad.
They say he spent the money on opiods. How many could he have purchased?
It is also a lesson to leave them alone. Change takes time and this man has a lifetime of change to do.

He’s disgusting. How can he stand up there and talk about his wife and son that he killed in cold blood, telling his other son how proud he is of him. This whole family is twisted. The mom and Paul didn’t deserve to die, but they were still as terrible as Alex and Buster…who names their kid Buster? The way he was sucking on his teeth and making those mouth noises is sickening. @highnrising ordinarily, I might agree with you. In this case, however, it's an extenuating circumstance. Everywhere this guy goes in South Carolina, he'll be judged harshly by the public because of his dad. Even his name within his family is stained due to his father's actions. He'll never get a fair shake at anything he tries to accomplish on his own merit in South Carolina. A fresh start will do him well. Those whom he truly cares about will be in touch, regardless of where he lives. Furthermore, with everything that's happened in the past two years of his life, I doubt he's had the time to fully grieve his mother, brother, and grandfather's death. Alex being incarcerated for life is, in effect, another death.

It may be a symptom of something wrong with me but I feel empathy for Alex and his family. I believe Alex did it 1000%, but I can’t help but feel for him as his entire life was flushed down the drain (though it was by his own doing). I think the collapses from within are the most catastrophic.
