The lack of guitar music just very well may be the cause of the gear explosion. People are having a hard time finding new music they love so they’re making it themselves. I know this is the case for me personally.

@@smelltheglove2038 I disagree with the statement that there is a lack of guitar music. There is just a lack of people actually listening to guitar music. If you‘re open-minded and venture off the beaten path of Rock riffs into the realms of Metal, Punk, Hardcore, Alternative and their various subgenres you‘ll definitely find a lot of guitar music. But as soon as there is a bit of harder vocals in it, people discard it as garbage… Just dig a bit deeper.

@That Pedal Show > Mick the reason the switching option didn't function was because with that pedal being the NAMM demo version & to avoid any power issue at NAMM (Cornerstone had power issues at NAMM the previous year) the toggle switch to change sides direction was disabled:.
So it was not something that you or Dan did wrong & importantly it is not a faulty pedal
That 'NAMM demo' Colosseum just needs reprogramming for the switching option to work
(Have just sent you text about it - BV 😎)

Wonderful show. Been watching your show for many years....as such learning that neither of you are "gain monsters".......I have always been a guitar player that always turned the gain all the way up. Using various Boogie amps, I've always grabbed that drive/gain knob and cranked it to the max. Then I would boost it with different distortion/overdrive pedals to get even more gain. No one (soundmen, fellow band members) ever told me my sound sucked......after watching your show, it slowly made me realize I was over compressing my tone into total mush.....so I started turning the gain down on the amp, and stopped using the pedal's gain....just the volume for boosting.....and now everybody is telling me how much they like my tone. And I figured it out....what you guys have been saying for years..."turn the gain DOWN"!!!! Now I'm 68 years old.....it took me a long time to open my ears.....but you two helped me improve my sound. Thanks!

If you’re trying to build a setup that can play into any reasonable amp setup, and give you the ‘Tones’, then you design accordingly. Personally, I lose my mind 🤯

Like the Silvertone, but 2 misses it's large and the knobs are a miss.
Tsakalis sounded great, you should give it a TPS Award :)
Klon diodes 1N34A Germanium. Does the Cornerstone have the buffer or not. I find all Klon Clones sound better with the buffer on, which is usually not the case on other pedals.
Silicon always nastier except in the Special Kranker??? Funny a friend stopped by and I swapped out the diodes in his Soul Food to 1N34A ITT 1951's sounds great!

Not sure about this specific twin twelve pedal but your comment about “transistory” is apt- as a general rule pedals based on amp designs (JHS Superbolt is another example, and JHS has their own Twin Twelve) will use JFETs in place of valves because they drive & distort in much the same way. Typically these pedals are the preamp section(using JFETs) without the power section.
