I appreciate the ability to view these meetings at home. Thx for that!
It would be helpful if the commission were given lapel mics so the volume wasn’t so roller coaster. When the commissioners turn their head to speak to each other, the volume decreases etc. I for one would appreciate it if we could improve that equipment

I would prefer not to go to a non resident draw system at all. I like being able as a resident to purchase a tag for a non resident friend to come out and hunt with me. Going to a draw will reduce his chances of getting a tag if I can't buy it locally for him.

Mininum 10% non-resident tags allocation. Is there a maximum?

I sure hope Idaho doesn't go to a draw and points system for resident hunts! I would rather be able to hunt every year with equipment restrictions that do everything as a controlled hunt. If anything, I would like to see controlled hunts reduced or eliminated in favor of controlling harvest through equipment restrictions.

Idaho will go to a draw system, I just hope they don’t incorporate a point system as well or if they incorporate a point system you cannot buy additional points.
They key is to keep it fair, giving advantages to people who can afford to purchase more points is not “fair”
I like they current system, it could be tweaked so you are not hold the phone to your ear for 4 hours

The nonresident system should remain as is. The only people crying about it are those that are too lazy or cheap to do what is necessary to get a tag.

I was on the phone at 0900 hours. I was on the phone for 3 hours trying to get a tag. at the end of the 3 hours everything was sold out. so no I was not lazy as you say. you are an ignorant ass for making that arrogant statement.

It has nothing to do with too lazy or cheap. Read my initial post, the current computer lottery system is so messed up, it is not even funny. You log in, get a number issued to you, wait two hours (sometimes less, but most of the time a lot longer) for your turn to come up so you can try and purchase a deer and/or elk tag. Most of the time, you get kicked out of the system and have to log back in and get a much higher number. Sometimes when your turn comes up to purchase the tag, the system will not let you pay for it. If they could make the computer lottery system better, then no big deal...but it is a complete cluster. Additionally, as a resident Idaho, I am all about keeping non-residents numbers low...however if they are too low, then the IDFG will raise the resident fees. Residents have low fees because of the non-residents. Their fees pay for a large percentage of IDFG, without the non-res...we as residents are screwed. The reason I am so passionate about this problem, is that hunting season is the time for me and my fellow Marines that I have served with to get together and reminisce about the "glory days" (as in: killing those that need to be killed).

Nonresidents should only get 10% across the board on capped elk tags. A lot of people lose out on elk hunting in their own backyard because of the amount of elk tags offered to nonresidents. Out of state hunting isn't a right it's a privilege.

Capped resident elk tag zones need to move a draw instead of the current process
