Saw VI is--holy sh*t how many of these things are there?! This is one of them, and there are torture puzzle things and weird reveals that make no sense. And sins, of course. Can't forget about the sins.
Thursday: late '90s rom-com sins.
Remember, no movie is without sin. Which movie's sins should we count next?

I like the idea that if insurance man just lost the first trap the rest of the people just kinda sit there for the next hour and a half
I mean how would he lose a breath holding game to a heavy smoker
They didn't think everythign through very well. Ddi you want logic to apply here?
Maybe the janitor/heavy smoker would have to decide everyone's fate.
Yeah, imagine how awkward that final game would be if it were the old man.
@@Hei_Darkfire the son looked like a deranged serial killer so it probably would have ended in a similar way
"Previously...on Saw."
I needed that, actually.
One thing I hate about this movie in the franchise is that everyone is getting punished but the guy who should be. Like, the janitor. The guy's only "crime" is that he smokes despite have a history of health problems. The guy is in his late 60s to early 70s, it's not gonna be the cigarettes that kill him. Just let him enjoy his cancer sticks with what time he has left.
I thought the same thing, it's like these murderers are assholes or something.
Yeah, the games sorta shift to basically being "Either this person dies or this person dies." That's the problem with later saw movies is that the beginning saw movies weren't always like that. People suffered, but the traps were supposed to be winnable (Except when people like Amanda rigged them). It eventually just came down to "if you don't win, these people die". Honestly, I wanted to see more traps like the one with the 6 people who were supposed to work together, because seeing people working together like in the earlier Saws was pretty fun.
@@Hei_Darkfire What sucks it that Detective Hoffman is supposedly building these. I get that he's killing people who are investigating him to not get caught and keep the games going, but why are the traps designed to kill other people that aren't involved with the investigations? Hoffman got it right on his first solo game in Saw V. So what happened between V and VI that made him change the traps?
This is one of the biggest problems with this movie. Granted, I hate every single one of them all the way to "Jigsaw", but John Kramer is just shown to be flat-out moronic in this movie. Every decision he makes (in flashbacks, of course) is worse than the previous.
@@Hei_Darkfire ya that's the problem, you're supposed to be able to win by not being a bastard, but the people in the traps are bastards who are panicking
Worse for the lady at the beginning... 'You sold bootlegged copies of Batman and Robin... wait... how did you manage to sell even ONE?'
D@mn! Forget the ointment-- *that* burn's gonna need a skin graft and physical therapy! : )
I don’t know anyone who would buy that movie

You are amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Glad you enjoyed!
I rooted for you on Scream Queens, and was so happy you won! Great job in both Saw films, and I hope we get to see more of you in the future. 😊
You were awesome! I'm glad your arm grew back 💪🏽😩❤️
Yooo, props on you film appearances!
12:02 Almost chilling how you (almost) foreshadowed Saw X
12:01 I can't believe you predicted the plot of Saw X years before it was made
11:38 He also predicted the plot of Jigsaw four years after he was made - but did he see it yet when he made this video about Saw VI? My point is, Jigsaw was about John Kramer setting up another deadly escape room for a doctor who made the mistake of switching his X-rays with someone else's, and four criminally selfish people who were not responsible for hindering his cancer diagnosis, but did other worse things and had other personal connections to him in his home life, like the woman who could not stand her baby's constant crying and the man who killed his nephew with a defective motorbike with no brakes.
Another brilliant extra thing about Saw X - after CinemaSins questioned why William Easton from Saw VI was not one of the first Jigsaw victims when he was a bigger unhelpful jerk than Lawrence Gordon from Saw and Lynn Denlon from Saw III, I think this question was retroactively answered by Saw X, taking place between Saw and Saw II, when the doctors and patients from that movie who _pretended_ to help John Kramer were another earlier group of Jigsaw victims who are even worse than William Easton, who was at least honest about not wanting to help John Kramer, and who were arguably bigger frauds than Bobby Dagen from Saw 3D: The Final Chapter.
Just came to the comments to comment something similar but then saw your comment as the top one 😅
Jigsaw: "You're suicidal, here's a game that might kill you."
Suicidal person: "Great! :D"
Jigsaw: "Let me explain the r... oh you didn't wait, you just... triggered. Dammit, do you know how much time and money I put into this? I'm an elderly cancer patient, this is not easy for me to set up! Inconsiderate piece of..."
That was a trap in Saw 1. Gave the guy the opportunity to let himself die if he wanted
@@Fr0stbit3_ Not really, Jigsaw claimed that that man cut himself because he wanted attention, not because he wanted to die. Of course given how warped Jigsaw's point of view is, it is perfectly reasonable that he was wrong.
Even truly suicidal people probably still want to end it quickly.
Im guessing even the biggest sad sack on the planet doesn't want his limbs twisted off like a stretch armstrong doll!
@@tonyj9743 Sounds like it might hurt just a tad
12:06 - I know it was a joke, but you almost nailed that. Doctor was initially located in Norway in Saw 10
I came to comment this! Is great that the writers picked that up
Just watched the movie, its kinda funny that they used that throwaway line for the movie
Saw VI is funny to french speaking people because 6 is pronounced "sis" in french. Thus saw VI becomes "sawsis" or "saucisse" which means sausage in french
And Saw 7 sounds like "chaussette" if you have a slight lisp.
A chaussette is a sock.
The first time my friend told me that it's been announced that they would make Saw movies until at least 7 (I think at the time there were only 3 or 4 movies out) and asked me to think about it, I had a good laugh at saucisse & saussette
@@randallflagg3700 A proof that the translator did not give a fuck. I mean they changed "Les dents de la mer II" (to avoid "les dents de la merde") to "les dent de la mer - deuxième partie", so they can do it, they just did not for some reason.
@@TheRorixGarcymore It's not a problem for a second movie but it would be weird to start naming it "Saw le sixième" or "Saw chapitre 6" after you just added the numbers for the other sequels.
@James Wall Don't know man. Sometimes they translate the whole movie name sometimes not
@James Wall I think "Scie Six" while not a swear would sound fucking dumb in french. And in english it would sound a little like "sissy" so... I don't think that's a good idea :p
The first female trap victim (Tanedra Howard) won her role in the Saw movie after being on a show called Scream Queens (not the Emma Roberts one). Aspiring actresses competed in challenges and attended intense acting lessons until only the best actress was left standing. Tanedra faced a lot of racism throughout the series and had no formal training and STILL beat out all the others with class and raw talent. There are two seasons of the show here on RUclips, and it’s super entertaining to watch. Shawnee Smith hosted season one, and Jaime King hosted season two. Highly recommend!
Has Neve Campbell (Sidney Prescott) ever attended the show?

That teenager looked READY for his moment to shine. I need the side story where the kid turns into a Jigsaw

Roderick went fuckin wild after he found out he was getting replaced in Diary of a Wimpy Kid
I was looking for this comment
@@khaelkugler You should've seen me when I saw that Roderick was in a Saw movie. And especially when he literally melted a guy in half.
Imagine if, for whatever reason, the bad insurance guy failed the very first task and lost the breath-holding contest to the janitor? What would happen to the other people in the other traps? Imagine how pissed Hoffman would be he set all those super-complex traps up for nothing.
thats why he put a smoker in the trap so that william would only be slightly injured, but if william died the smoker would just be really confused and have a really awkward facedown at the end
Setting the smoker guy up for failure seems unfair. I know Jigsaw is a hypocrite but even for him this is pushing it
@@pringlebatch Jigsaw even condemns William at 7:11 by saying "The healthy have benefitted while the potentially sick have been unjustly rejected", and then his first trap has an extremely high probability for the healthy (William) to benefit and the potentially sick (the smoker) to be unjustly rejected. Jigsaw really wants to have his blood-soaked cake and eat it too
Picture then all going through anyways but with different results.
The Secretary also dies I think, since the test was for the Insurance Guy to choose who lives or does, or else they both die. Then the last 2 people on the Carousel survive & the Sister & the other 2 die from the acid instead of the Insurance Guy.
“You sell pirated copies of Eragon all across Queens, your shameful bootlegging costs the movie industry ey an estimated 4.5 hundred dollars a year.” Had me rolling
The final video was triggered the moment he armed the acid trap by standing on the pressure plate between the two cages. Also John planned for him to beg the family up-close to spare him, that's why it swung only in that direction. It's still dumb that it didn't have a back-up trap in case he tripped or hit the deck at the last second.
Ok Hoffman.
Neat- the Screenwriter left a comment. :-)
also how did he not notice the massive acid trap right above him??
Funnily enough the carousel trap is actually my favourite saw trap so far (I’ve only made it to this movie tho). The fact that if he saves two people right away that the next four are screaming at him and saying horrible things because they know that they’re going to die. But if he saves two at the end then you have everyone begging for their lives, as shown in the movie. I think it’s incredible. Also the part where the last guy to die screams “look at me when you kill me” was amazingly done in my opinion)
The theme of this movie is a zoo while the theme of Saw 3D is an asylum and Jigsaw(2017) is Jill's family farm/barn
Yeah the "look at me when you kill me" was a rare example of great acting from supporting cast
I know, as much as they want to make that as a “sin” I really enjoyed the sequence of that trap
So in a parallel universe where he'd died before that trap. The final girl is saved by default & the last guy who died actually survives since back when the other girl gets saved, this time around she isn't saved and dies by default cause no one was there to save her.
The main thing I don’t like about this movie is the fact William died I think he is one of the only people who where put in a trap and actually learned his lesson
I like to imagine Brent then went to jail for premeditated murder.
And he was the only one who actually put any effort unlike SAMF Jeff and Bobby.
What do you mean? Bobby did try to save everyone & failed.
Jeff delayed too long for certain people cause he couldn't make up his mind, but he tried to save almost everyone
I love how the girl lifts up her shirt as if she's realizing for the first time that she's not fat 🤣
Yeah that shot was literally just for the audience! 🤣
Like she was expecting a big belly enough for a pound of flesh and then was surprised there isn't. Girl do you even see yourself in the mirror sometimes?
It's...... possible
Me but opposite
let me introduce.. body image issues!
The fact that he actually called out the "the doctor will be in a trap in saw 9 because something he did to me". Tells you alot about these movies xd
Except it's not the same doctor, and X is set years before this one.
@@Jim-pq9pmSaw X is between saw 1 and saw 2
“The Shotgun Carousel is the weakest trap in the series.”
The Shotgun Carousel is one of the most popular traps in the series. The real horror of it comes, not from the design, but the certainty of death that’s involved. It’s also popular because of the context behind it. This trap is a physical representation of William’s policy. Only a third of the people on this carousel can get off (representing how William’s policy only saves a third of his clients), the decision of who survives is determined by William (representing how he makes this same choice every day at his job), and whoever gives him the best argument is allowed to live while the rest are left for dead.
William makes this same decision every day, but this is the first time he’ll see the direct result of his decisions. This is what his policy looks like when it’s shown in the flesh.
I agree I just think he means it was hardly a trap moreso a puzzle. There's a channel that draws a distinction between puzzles traps trials etc
I agree though. It's likely the most symbolic trial ever.
@@NationalSportsEntertainmentNSE The Shotgun Carousel was not a puzzle. There wasn’t some riddle or combination to figure out. William just has to choose which two people will get to live. That’s not a puzzle at all.
Couldn't he just use two fingers on the button so the rod would stab between them and he wouldn't get hurt?
@@StevenMcSteve No. There’s only enough room for him to stick one hand inside and the switches are most likely designed to stop working after they’ve been pressed twice.

So..... Much.... PINK
Honestly, the color grading of the franchise never was that great to begin with, but Saw 7 is some of the worst color grading I've ever seen.

The thing about Hoffman being at the station when the audio was being unscrambled was the same thought I had. If they knew he was the accomplice, why the hell didn't they have a whole swat team there to take him down? Hoffman is a big guy and none of those three had a chance of taking him down.

Not Norway, but Mexico.

Pretty close, given that it's cinemasins.
The woman is Norwegian, as is her father, except it's a different name. Norway has a pretty advanced biotech industry
I've seen lots of people say they love Hoffman for being a badass. But honestly, his unbelievably high levels of plot armor helped ruin the series.
I don't really understand his motives after saw 5. He's revenge killed Seth Baxter, his biggest threat Jigsaw has died and he's managed to frame someone for all the murders (albeit temporarily) so I don't actually get why he doesn't just do a runner after the glass box/Strahm crushing scene. There's no need to incriminate himself further or carry on Jigsaws work
@@arthurmorgan8529 Basically what happened is that yes, he did have a chance to stop doing the games and continue his life as a police officer but some part of him liked seeing people get punished so that’s why he continued. Also, it wouldn’t matter if he did a runner because the FBI were still suspicious of him.
@@nrlstatistics4898Actually they were all in on Strahm being the killer.
There is no evidence that Perez suspected Hoffman. Strahm just lied to put pressure on him. Cause if her & Erickson did know it was Hoffman like Strahm knew, then Saw VI would've been a much shorter movie. But due to the Framing of Strahm it bought Hoffman time. Cause then, no one knows of Hoffman's involvement aside for Dr. Gordon who isn't going to say anything anyways.
But the Scene with the Medical Examiner & the Knives is what leads them to unscramble the Tape that Hoffman made.
And Hoffman using Strahm's hand doesn't make sense, cause that is how they the FBI started to suspect someone else (not Hoffman specifically). But if he didn't use the hand & wore gloves instead, Strahm would've been the best guarantee suspect up till the Tape Unscrambling Scene which reveals Hoffman as being the killer.
12:00 Call it spoilers all you want when even though the movie description on google says it, but this sin is WAY TOO ACCURATE for Saw X.

Yo what's up with your Profile pic
My favorite part of saw IV is that Hoffman legit could of done the tapes in a different voice and wouldn’t have to kill three throwaway characters.
The thing is, John recorded the tapes and Hoffman probably couldn’t of had Strahm’s tape recorded in John’s voice. And even if John pre-recorded it, they would be suspicious of Hoffman due to the modulated voice sounding different then the rest.
I still don't get why Hoffman even put the insurance company game together. Like the last movie was to set up Strahm, Saw IV John was still alive when the game started, but what purpose does Hoffman have to continue his work in this movie beyond "It was in his will box, so it must be done"?

Maybe Will deserved what happened to him, but his death went completely against John's philosophy. The point of the traps isn't giving other people a choice to save you, it's giving you a choice to live or die. So what was the point of Will's trials if his fate would ultimately be decided by someone else?
This is coming from someone that only knows these movies through these EWW videos, but I feel like it kind of makes sense. The games are meant to be ironic punishments (I think), and he had other people's lives in his hands at his job, so at the end his life is put in someone else's hands.
That is because John is insame killer who doesn’t have a coherent philosophy. Some of his previous games have also been super unfair or unbeatable
Are you guys going to to do cinemasins videos for saw 7 jigsaw and spiral?
Anybody ever question the fact that there are actually victims in jigsaws games that ARE NOT the person the game is testing. "save this person kill that person and you deserve to live" ok but what did those to people do to deserve for their fate to be decided by me? Did they both lose a game prior to this leaving their lives in my hands?

All of Bruce Willis mentions are pretty sad now...but his sacrifice in Armageddon was so Bad Ass.
As a big enough Saw fan that I've even met Tobin Bell & Shawnee Smith, I can tell you that 4-7 just feels like they were made more for the traps than the story.
Haters: "nooooo you cant say that about that movie it hurts my feelings"
Cinemasins: "haha content go bbbbBRRRTTTTTTT"
I didn’t deserve this punishment!!! 😂😂😂
Lol the best part of this video is pointing out that Hoffman continues to use Strahms dead fingerprints even AFTER HE WAS JUST OUTED FOR IT 😂
That being said .. I ABSOLUTELY will not take critisicm for The Carousel because that is without a doubt the very best trap in the whole series (if we ignore that it kinda contradicts Jigsaws morals haha)
I just watched the other 5 of these again last night, so perfect timing!
There are two types of people in this world: those who think Die Hard is a Christmas movie, and those who are wrong, and I sin you for suggesting it is not. *Ding
Saw VI is actually one of my favorites in the series. Top 3 at least. The Carousel Trap is also one of my absolute favorite traps given the deeply psychological nature of it.
Except it violates the original idea. Each of them should have had their own trap. Instead the boss goes through all of this just to die at the end, which doesn't actually teach him anything. It's also pretty sadistic that they have to just sit there and wait for it to happen, let alone for the survivors to wait to be rescued. It would be a lot easier to use a semiautomatic shotgun so you didn't have to make a pumping device.
I’ll be disappointed if you don’t at least remove a sin for the “Right now you’re feeling helpless” moment.
That part is so insanely good I'm surprised it came out of this franchise and from the *sixth* fucking movie at that.
That part alone easily made Saw VI my favourite one after the first one.
It's just so tense and well acted and clever, and then it ends with Hoffman absolutely obliterating both agents like he's Jason Bourne. What an amazing scene.
Sins aside, I legitimately thought Saw 6 was pretty good.......and for being the 6th movie, that is saying something.
@@miahthorpatrick1013 it's easily the best one after 1, maybe 4.

Yes! The continuation of sinning this series has come! Also almost forgot which Saw movie that actor was in who played Rodrick in Diary of a Wimpy Kid!
Love rodrick making it onto this movie, he deserved that role
So in the earlier films, John's philosophy was "Everyone deserves a chance at living", right? The traps were designed so that each victim would be able to survive if they followed the instructions, and Saw 3 and 5, John was angry at Amanda and Hoffman when they made inescapable traps. Yet now, he's making traps that require at least one person to be killed. With the hanging one, the carousel one, and the one at the end with the hydrofluoric acid, the victims can't do anything other than hope that someone else saves them. John really abandoned his own philosophy in this one
isnt this hoffmans work? dont remember but i think he died in saw 3
@@cloudiiblossom The thing is, though, at 7:01 John himself is on the TV screen explaining the "game". Knowing that, it seems that while Hoffman may have set up the traps, John had planned for the game to go this way

This is the ONLY correct ranking of the franchise
"4.5 hundred dollars," may be the Cinema Sins line that's made me laugh the hardest. Well done.
*Jigsaw voice* “You sell pirated copies of eragon to people at burger kings all around queens…” 😂😂😂
I don't remember if I saw this one, but I do remember thinking around this time "man they're really just in it for the gore aren't they? Story doesn't even make a lick of sense anymore...."
16:08 Okay, you gotta take that one back. She's doing that because she just took hot coffee to the face
3:24 I found two errors on a chronically ill patient.
He said that with a smile. I'm pretty sure this happens often in reality. It's crazy how health insurance companies are just rooting for people to die. Collect on the premiums for as long as possible and hope the person dies before they need to use it
Dont ask why I clicked so fast for a saw video alright?
Why'd you click so slow?
@@bluecross9963 uhh I can Explain?
Don’t ask why I said first first
SAME
Well already know why so I don't need to ask.
Ironic how close you were to predicting when they would bring back the Norwegian doctor.
I like how the people in the first trap didn't think to put their clothes in the machine or pee into the machine.
Love when the ding cuts off the end by just a little like “BRING A SNA*ding*”
The opening two victims weren’t loan sharks they were mortgage brokers this movie came out during the peak of the housing crisis
They seem to even be pretty low ranked (that woman is still in their 20s and they probably just did their job) like he could have went after the people who made it policy or you know people who are actual criminals. His punishments are just non sensical, like one guy (saw 1)got into a trap because he slacked at work and called in sick, when he wasnt. In this movie the young guy at the Plattforms sin is that he is a loner. The janitors sin is that he smokes. The sin of the woman in the iron bull is that she believed his lying husband. Most people just got into traps by doing their fucking job (lawyer, publicist). Next time on saw :Hello Mandy, I saw you eating a Cheeseburger despite your Facebook post that you would become a vegan. Also you cheated on your 7th grade math test, together with Tim, who put his used chewing gum under desks. Let's see how much he can chew without a jaw.
@@loewenmakrele My ex wife tried to justify these movies by saying "Jigsaw only punishes guilty people by teaching them moral lessons" and I was like, "I've seen enough of these movies to know that plenty of innocent people are horrifically tortured, traumatized or brutally murdered to teach those lessons. No thanks, I don't want to see more of them."
according to wikipedia they're 'Predatory Lenders'
12:02 HE PREDICTED THE FUTURE WITH SAW X DAMN
I hope CS manages to cover the remaining Saw movies until Friday 'cause I don't want to wait until Saw X to get the whole franchise sin count
I watched for the CinemaSins, but this just confirmed why I don't watch horror or gore centric movies. Even censored I was still squirming at a lot of these clips. God damn I am uncomfortable right now.
Agreed! Saw one scene from saw once and years later still makes me a bit queasy-I don't mind gore but this is downright torture porn not even a movie in my opinion.
The Saw movies are just gross and the writing is shit.
Hands down, Saw 6 is undoubtedly one of the best films of the series after the first three in my opinion 😊🙂 It’s so well-written, well-paced, interesting characters, great traps, and the plot is understandable enough for people who never watched the other films
I agree with you! That and it does a good job kinda thing together the scrambled mess of the previous two
I was just saying yesterday how this is my favorite one.
I don't think it is anymore
12:04 you were 1 number off. It happens in saw 10
Technically it's the 9th saw. Spiral isn't related.
I hate in the first movie they said that jigsaw never actually killed anyone yet there are traps that require people to die. I could be remembering who made what traps wrong but I still hate it when it's "someone must die" kind of trap
*THANK GOD I THOUGHT WE HAD TO WAIT TIL OCTOBER*
