I'm actually a little frustrated with the pricing of the Re-Animator 4k. I get what you're saying, but I think Ignite might be biting off more than they can chew, and passing off the costs to the fans. I wish they would have left Re-Animator to one of the big boys that can give us a better price, and established their brand with films with lower licensing costs. Look at how Celluloid Dreams is using lesser known Gialli to build a brand. The bigger companies are going to be watching how many people buy that release and raise their prices if they see us scoop it up at $120, $80 and $60 a piece.
the problem is, Celluloid Dreams got some titles that not a lot of people are looking for so it is easy to get the license but hard to make money...if you can come out of the gate with a massive in-demand title, it puts you on the map with fans and collectors as someone to be taken seriously... You will just never find me on the side that tells people to bow out and let bigger business take over...this title could be the ticket to us getting more great titles from this label that other big boys keep ignoring...the more serious boutique labels the better... VS sells Howling II for $45 or $50 and that isnt anywhere near the title Re-Animator is and I love VS
@ My only real issue with Ignite is their pricing. I don’t want $60 for a 4k with slip to become industry standard. I wouldn’t be complaining about any of their prices if their standard edition was in the $45 to 50 range. I know you don’t do a lot of interviews, but maybe you could see if the owners of Ignite could come on and talk about the release? I might be a little more forgiving if I find out this is a passion project they’ve been wanting to make for years like Red Shirt Pictures release of Trick or Treat, or the guys at Celluloid Dreams.
@@ahaubert80 Hey, I think you've got a great idea with the interview angle. Great Haul, Chase. I personally grabbed the Ignite deluxe set for Reanimator because I love the film, and the release looks fire. The more boutique companies, the better IMO.
The Fablemans was a very solid family drama. From what I understand it's semi-autobiographical, as Spielberg draws a lot of his own childhood and adolescent years into the film. My never-ending story 4K the last update says it's still in Los Angeles waiting to get to the post office. I'm here in Texas and it's the holidays so I've got a feeling that's not anytime soon
The Power of Grayskull sounds pretty cool. 🗡️ I had He-Man when I was a kid. Re-Animator is something I'll definitely get in 4k. I'll have to check that boutique out. 😊 Good luck with your VS!
Here's my take on the Re-animator situation. We as customers cannot fall for this shit. Just because they are just getting started absolutely does not justify the price point. There's plenty of smaller boutique companies that have done very well with lower priced movies. If they couldn't have really afforded the licenses and all, then they shouldn't have gotten this title that everyone has been waiting on. Dumping a high price point on the consumer is bad business. I'm disappointed that arrow didn't do it. With that being said I'm keeping my limited edition arrow set
by that thinking, no small business would ever make it....too many people want the best quality and best craftsmanship and the most choices but dont want to pay for it...
@@AVAPopCulture How do you know this will be the "best quality and best craftsmanship"? I'm not against supporting this company, just wondering, on what knowledge are you are basing that claim? I heard you say on the live stream that you didn't know anything about them, never heard of them, but simultaneously claim this was a passion project that they sunk every last available dollar into; as if their future and the future of the entire industry hinged upon everyone of us blindly supporting this company. I mean, if that's true, I'll buy the fucking thing, but damn. I miss something? I don't get it. Love ya bro. < was that passive aggressive? 🤣 Just sayin' I don't think this is the fault of the consumer, we didn't set up this system, we're just trying to live in it.
@stickywicked447 I have been looking at what it will take to launch a boutique for over 6 months now...I've been inquiring about rights...I have an idea of what it costs for even a little unheard of movie so I know the rights have to be ridiculous...I also saw where they had the restoration done and with what equipment and you can see for yourself what that costs (it is roundabout entertainment) ...I also saw that they had artwork commissioned for the release, they had the producer come in and approve the restoration, they got the lead actors back along with him for lots of new special features, they had special figures made and each hand painted to go with that biggest set and on and on...not to mention I know how much just having discs pressed can cost if you can't afford to untold thousands made to get it cheaper....and it was done for a movie that so many people have wanted for so long - and arrow could have done at any time but they didn't want to sink that money into it...and it was done by a tiny start up company who put like 1 movie out to this point and have less followers than my 14yr old on Instagram lol... So yeah, I'd say it took a boat load of passion and a helluva gamble to do all that...I've been on that side trying to make movies of the sweat of my back and investing all I had in a world where others had unlimited resources so I respect that and that is the kind of thing I support...if the product sucks they go under and lose everything...if a big boutique or studio puts out a bad product, they have tons of others to bail them out and can issue a replacement disc like it is nothing...most likely this company will go under if they had to do that...you have to think about it all and think about it from a business and art/passion side...the juice isn't worth the squeeze on this unless you have a passion for it and want to make something the best it can be...
@stickywicked447 I've seen a lot of people who are unhappy either way since I started doing this... If a boutique only gives a standard edition they complain that it deserved more...if they give a deluxe or chunky box they complain that they should have a standard option and that a different movie deserved the boxset more... They complain boutiques don't put out anything but back catalog but when they put out different stuff, they don't buy it like the other tried and true stuff... People fuss about about a $49 slipbox 4k version here from a small boutique but have no problem selling out $70 deadpool steelbooks from a faceless massive company that doesn't give a shit about the movies or the people watching them... People complain that they want options on a release but when they get them they complain about them... People complain about not getting tons of special features but when a company ponies up the money to add tons of special features, people don't want to pay the added price... It could easily cost 50k to get everyone involved with Re-animator in to do special features and pay for the production of them...that means they have to sell 1000 units just to pay for special features - hell, if they are like vinegar syndrome they may not have more than 8-12k units in total (on the high side)
Yeah that cover was hot, lol, I knew I was in trouble when I started to film and I was like "oh shoot" and I had already started! I'll think about the After Hours idea for members maybe...not sure what the nudity policy is on that if it is members only haha
Believe me I love the Re-Animator saw it in the theater 3 times had it on, VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray, limited editions, steelbooks and so on but to pay $50 for just one 4K disc and a slipcover (not to mention $40 for the blu-ray) Is just too much. It isn't about complaining about the price but sending a message to other boutique labels that they could do the same thing. I realized they had to pay big bucks for the license but I think they bit off more than they can chew. Now people are going to buy it regardless of what I say and let's be honest after a few months the prices will go down. I'm Just refusing to go along with the price hike today and who knows some other UK label might release this In the future.
I dont like the idea that small business people taking a big chance to reach their dreams is "biting off more than they can chew and should have left it to the big companies"... most people taking issue seemed to have no problem selling out $70 steelbooks of Deadpool from a massive company that doesnt care about them or the movie they put out....and nobody seems to have an issue spending $45 on every 4k release from Vinegar Syndrome (this is literally $5 difference for a startup) ...Nobody seems to have issues with paying 14 for a 12 pack of Craft Beer when you could buy the every day beer from a big company for much less, but why do people buy craft beers? they do it because they are looking for more care, craftsmanship, individuality, better ingredients etc etc - this is no different...and if Ignite doesnt deliver on it, they go under...if Arrow or VS or Kino etc screws up, they have plenty of other films and a lot of money to make up for it...
I do like how with Ignite Films there's options for the upcoming release of Re-Animator, I'm going to order the $79.95 Deluxe Edition Box Set. Just wish there was similar options for The NeverEnding Story, with luck they're release a scaled down version

I'd like to see you review Demolition Man. Your Terminator review was very helpful. Have heard good things but would like to see more frame comparisons and zoom-ins. How did you get the new Vinegar Syndrome titles so soon? Is that from Orbit, or did your package just arrive already from VS? I pre-ordered early Nov and still haven't gotten anything.
@MoviePalaceOfBlood I may do a demolition man review!! Seems like enough people want to see it! And with VS it is the luck of the draw! I got mine after a lot of other people who I ordered earlier than...just luck
I just like to say I appreciate you having no problem telling us your perspective of what you think about the movie you bought with your own money... Yes, you're going to get a 50/50 response back... Myself I would say after everyone of my reviews... That if you just want a half ass review to make your blind buys off of... Then go listen to the RUclipsrs that either play it safe by cop out and just telling you about picture and sound only... Because they don't want the negative feed back... Or go listen to the ones that has nothing bad to say on any of there reviews because there getting a free movie to sale that lie to you so you go buy it.
You don't need to explain yourself about Terrifer 3
Some people or brain 🧠 dead...
@@Ghostrecon12 thank you lol! I caught a lot of grief from folks missing my point
Ive got burnt listening to fake movie reviews... You keep it real and you know what your talking about... Keep up the great job your doing on your channel... And thank you for being YOU... ~☆~☆~☆~☆~☆~ @AVAPopCulture
