- 1940s era View-Master "Stereoscope" with Reel Number SP-9007, "Indian Days Banff," shot in Alberta, Canada.
The View-Master product line was launched in 1939. That was four years after the invention of Kodachrome color film. The newly developed film stock was used to produce tiny, high-quality photo color images that were inserted into thin cardboard disks.
The user placed the disk into the View-Master viewer in order to see the images through the dual lens viewing system. A turning mechanism allowed the disk to turn so that the various images could be viewed. Also, the description viewing window allowed the user to see the description of the image just viewed.

I have that same one from my grandmother. Pretty cool vintage stuff.
From your grandmother? That's really something special! I agree that the View-Master is cool, and there's still something magical about how the pictures look when you gaze through the lens of one. Thank you for this comment, and for watching!
I have one of these around the house somewhere, that belonged to my mother
