My g grandfather worked in the mine underneath perran beach. Used to come out of the adit on the side for pasties around 1910. His hamds were rounded by his hammering work. He had blast injuries and his brother was killed by blasting. Hard life then.

I grew up in Rose before moving near Truro later on in the 1970s. Fun nites in the field nearby at summer were awesome. That and Saffron Teatreat buns on walks to the lost church.

Very many remains of tin mines and many deep mineshafts there. I lived near Perranporth once.
