    This is like walking into a kindergarten and being confused as to why nobody knows algebra yet

      I mean, not really. Usually the level is at least basic, even with kids. These guys were just not even that.

      No because it's the drivers responsibility to not crash every corner,

    Sometimes there are sessions where you literally can't drive, you were lucky to be able to get some laps in despite those beginners

      @KartingQuest  5 месяцев назад

      Haha, well as I said, I did proceed with caution, but there were enough laps with clear track. But in the few hundred sessions I've driven so far, this was the worst one.

      Hey, how nice of you, I appreciate that a lot! Still finding my footing but I think just going over a video and talking about it like I would to a friend suits me better than the more edited videos I've done before. So it's a nice boost to hear that it's being liked! Hope you have a great day, buddy :)

    I've seen some bad drivers in the few times that I went karting, but this was just ridiculous. Absolutely zero idea on how to drive a kart. Your driving was nice to watch though, enjoyed it a lot.

      Yeah, they were totally oblivious. I liked that I tried on a session with them even though I could have skipped, purely for the experience of learning how to deal with them in the future!
      Thanks by the way, I try, but hopefully my driving will only get better and better!

      Hey buddy, appreciate that a lot, good to see you're still watching my vids when they drop. I'm still trying to figure out what content people like (like my newest 45 minute video, but that's not being received very well.).
      If you want to drive with me some time, you can always DM me on IG and I'll see what works out! :) Just don't expect it to be too exciting, still learning :D

      @@KartingQuest I'll always keep watching man, personally I like video's like this one where you just drive sessions or commentate over a part of a session over the meme video's. I love the advice video's aswell. And don't worry I'm not that great either lol, I didn't get a notification for your newest video for some reason so I will watch it now.

    Well driven bro! They mustve been hitting the brakes hard and then catch it with the acceleration causing the slide. Thats my theory but i am a novice so glad to see quality driving =)

      Hey, I appreciate that! Doing my best to drive well and working on getting faster. :) I'm suspecting they may be pressing both pedals in combo with excessive steering, but I think you're basically saying the same thing.

    I work as a marshall, there are some days where every single person in the building is unhinged. And that is why your kart drives like ****. The amount of confidence I see out of these people who have no business being there is a little scary.

    • @KartingQuest
      @KartingQuest  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah, I hear that a lot. I've seen quite a bit of accidents too (made a video about some of the stories) but I'm sure that only scratches the surface.
      I can't help but notice any time I'm in the mechanic shop at a track there's always someone straightening out a steering column because some person with zero track awareness crashed head first into some other driver or that one bit of wall with a support beam in it.
      Anyway, hope you're having a blast on the good days! What country is the track where you work at?

  • @LarsVDS-VA

    The only way i know of to spin a kart like that is to have cold tires, full lock the brakes, no countersteering and full locking The steering sporadically, i love karting but when there’s genuinely bad drivers it just becomes so akward to drive because you’re paying more attention to everyone’s safety rather than trying to go fast.

    The only way i know how to spin a kart like that is to have cold tires, sporadically turn the wheel full lock the brakes and no counter-steering, and i love karting but when there’s drivers like this it becomes akward and more about driving for everyone’s safety rather than laptimes, and usually when there’s drivers like this i just hope they don’t hurt themselves too much.

    • @KartingQuest
      @KartingQuest  4 месяца назад

      Yeah, that's why I wonder how they do it, because they surely didn't have cold tires. The place was packed and the karts get rotated quite fast. And after a few minutes they should have been good to go. As for the other parts, yeah, agreed. But it did look like some did hurt themselves, especially the one from the intro scene.

    What cc is the kart, because it looks quite fast unlike many other rental karts. Also nice camera setup.

      Thanks! It's just a GoPro 12, in this case mounted a bit to the side of my chin. They have Honda CRG Centurian karts, 270cc. Similar in speed to a few other petrol places in the area, like Inkart, Worldkarts and Extremekart in Belgium. They go up to 60kph.

  • @Kenny-VP
    @Kenny-VP 4 месяца назад

    Oh boi.. Everybody has to learn and starts from pretty much zero. But if you are unsure then just drive slower, there is no need to try a push the limit when you're not familiar with the track and or kart. Yet you see that on every track when new people show up for the first time. Last time i was at Goodwill Olen there was some kind of bachelor party and the man himself was fooling around a lot. All good but like you say at some point you endanger other people.
    What i do wonder is, since you are a local.. Could it be the fact because the karts are 270cc the new people have trouble keeping them under control? Like in Worldkarts Kortrijk for example you need approval from the stewards to drive the 270cc's to prevent 1 serious crashes and 2 try and keep the karts intact.
    Nice video tho, the commentary on it is very good and a nice addition!

    • @KartingQuest
      @KartingQuest  4 месяца назад +1

      Hmm, the 270CC question is a tough nut to crack. I think in goodwill there's more length in between the corners, and the corners themselves lend themselves better to 270CC than other tracks. World Karts has a few more technical ones that follow up quite fast, whilst in Olen it's usually the hairpins where you need to slow down, and the one going in too. Other than that you can still give it quite a bit of throttle and still be fine.
      In Antwerp and World Karts they have a lot more karts available too, so I think it's more of a maintenance and cost thing rather than a safety thing. I don't think 5kph is going to save you if you don't know how to brake.
      I feel like some tracks need to warn or red flag sessions with more discipline. I've seen sessions being stopped after warnings have been issued too many times at Inkart, and I've seen people get blackflagged and banned there frequently for being total idiots. And I respect that more than being put in learner karts, though there's a case for having a minimum required time to get into the fast ones.

    The first time I went karting I got the hang of it straight away even with no car driving experience. In my session there were 2 or 3 women who obviously do drive cars. Somehow they were crashing every corner, slamming on the breaks too early and just wedging you into walls because they have no sense of awareness. This one lady, I would say about 25-26 years old completley T-boned me. I was taking a right and she just slammed into the side of me. There were only 2 or 3 marshalls out so I didn't know if they has seen me or they may be assisting someone else. Overall this wasnt the best experience as I couldnt see how fast I could go and there were yellow flags every 30 seconds because of them. Hopefully next time I go up against some experienced drivers.

    • @KartingQuest
      @KartingQuest  5 месяцев назад

      I've seen plenty of lady drivers that handed it to me, so I doubt that has much to do with it, but other than that it sounds very similar to this video, maybe a tad worse.
      I'm sure it's usually a fluke unless you're at a very ignorant track!

    Have they ever heard of black flags

    • @KartingQuest
      @KartingQuest  5 месяцев назад

      It's still a business, of course, they did give them a final warning after the first session and they didn't join a third session. So presumably they were asked to stop.
      In the pits before the session that I joined, they were reminded to not use their phones on track during driving. I assume the marshals did their best (they are very nice and great people there), but should probably have black flagged the worst drivers from this batch.
      If there would have been kids or a lot more drivers on track, I bet they would have. But let's just assume they didn't because the other drivers in all the sessions were experienced regulars.

  • @c0mpl3x91

    On my third session there was dudes pushing everyone on purpose and being agressive that should be bannable. They knew how to drive but were being assh*les

    • @KartingQuest
      @KartingQuest  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, if marshals see that stuff being done on purpose they usually black flag. On some tracks I frequent they even ban them.
