I used to talk to Roger quite a lot in the 80s about music. He was a good conversationalist when on a topic that interested him. This is fascinating, to hear him expound on songs I used to enjoy too! If Roger could have been as good a goalkeeper as he is on music, our team would have been well proud. Good for you, Rog and UP THE VILLA!
"Save a prayer" is one of your very best songs, so bittersweet and sad and as you said have that "eastern" sound that I think some of your others songs had as well, very unique and a big reason I loved Duran!

I knew the "Save a Prayer" video before inhad the album, so when I heard the song, all I saw was the video. To this day I get offended when radio doesn't play the video length. The album I own doesn't play it and I fuss every time.
Save a prayer is my favorite song of your bands. Hauntingly beautiful, so thank you for the song,and the memories associated with it,as I was maybe 15 when it came out,and you guys were my favorite band. Still are. Thank you for all of the beautiful music ❤
Aww, Roger, I just love you. I’ve loved all 5 of you since 1980 and it’s so great to see you looking happy and healthy, with such a beautiful son (who looks just like his Dad!) Just saw DD play in Seattle this past May on your 2023 tour and it was an EPIC show! I was also at the 1984 show in Seattle as a teenager, so, full circle! Wishing you and your family all the best! ❤

Oh yessssss that song again. Great picks, unsurprisingly a great artist has great taste in music. Like Bowie, Duran Duran is of few bands I like more with each passing year, with them familiarity doesn't breed contempt, but rather a deeper appreciation.
There is no footage of you playing "Wild Boys", that I have found. I was a Duran Duran fan and had started playing the drums. That song blew me away! I stopped and said "What the f*[% is that? How did he make those sounds!" Thanks for the music and inspiration.

I'm a life long Duranies from 1980 love them all and their wonderful music over the past 40+years, they are hugely underrated glad all those sceptics have been proved wrong who's laughing now..... Duran Duran are very talented and have healing in their music which is so unquic and lovely to listen too hope to see them in 2021 in Dublin keep safe and well love from N.lreland ❤
Not just Save a Prayer but The Chauffeur, Seventh Stranger, Matter of Feeling, Ordinary World, Come Undine, Palomino, Winter Marches On.... You guys had a way of writing absolutely beautiful slow songs all with their own flavor.

My mum way back in the eighties thought you Roger was the most handsomest in Duran Duran. Can't wait to see you all next June in Dublin hopefully there's three generations of my family going to be there my two daughters, oldest grand daughter who loves your music it was a surprise birthday present but unfortunately everythings cancelled due to the pandamic she asked me recently, 'has Simon learnt how too dance'.....
I consider RIO a desert Island album. Mixing disco, rock and a bit of new wave... one of the perfect albums from of early 80s!!! Conjures up the imagination!

I believe he suffers from stage fright. When I saw them in concert years ago he would not look at the crowed. Always looking down even between songs.
