I like your style! It gives you a great deal of satisfaction to design, build & then modify an item that you need. May not be the quickest or easiest solution but it is proof that "man" is an inventor!
Great video man, I've been searching for such video for long. I am.planning to make exactly same system for my Himalayan. But one question, why didn't you use Metal plate instead of plastic board?
You're in the wrong job mate, whatever that is lol. Those 3D printers are the bomb and can save a fortune. I've been running softies for some time. I prefer them to hard boxes, saw someone break an ankle when it got stuck on an off-road trip, between the frame and box. Even with good boots on. Nice one mate.
If you had put a slot or two at the top of your cutting board/backing plate you would have a grab handle or two to make removal when loaded possible or much easier. Now you have to pull the latch handle and somehow lift the panniers off the top latch with one hand. Your rattle or loose fit, can you pull the mount and in your vise work that clamp strap down a bit for a tighter fit? Or, would that make removing the bags hang up at that end? So instead of a pop-up latching tab you went with a strap to fit over the tubes. May want to wrap the tubes with couple layers of good electrical tape like 3M Super 77.
hii great video! I would love to make the same thing you did but i'm struggling to find the correct dimensions of the both down plates you have printed Is there any chance to get the 3 model you use in this tutorial? Thanks a lot in advance, the best!
@@boxfullofneutral8514 not direct to the monokey. You have to bolt a plate to the frame. Which would need to be took off and put back on everytime i swapped from bags to boxs.
Great work Andy. Nothing beats making and or modifying to get what you want. Top job mate.
Cheers Brad 👍👍

Cheers 🙂

@@WulfOnTheRun brilliant thank you for your reply... you’ve inspired me to rig some throwover bags myself. Not quite as clever as yours though!!

What size plastic boards did you use.... Are they just commercial grade 1/2” thick white cutting boards.
600x450 and yes standard nylon cutting boards
Wulf On The Run thanks. That’s 24”*18” for us still stuck in Imperial system US guys. Nice job.

Givi don't make a soft set of bags to fit their monokey racks. Otherwise i would of bought some and not made some 👍👍
Wulf On The Run don’t the grt709s fit?
