This was an excellent walk-through, Christian, and helped me not only grok Phobos a bit more, but also get a much better understanding of how to squeeze even more out of it with the automation. Great stuff!
This is phenomenal! An epic creation of sound with such dynamics and intricacies, and it's just brilliant to see behind the craft of it. So many great tips and tricks learnt - thanks so much for sharing, Christian.
FCUK... I've dreamt of something like this happening years and years ago... and here it is, three years after the launch; BT PHOBOS has found me with some sort of MPE capability. I'm sold. Thank you Christian!
It's the problem with their library manager software. Talked to support, they said they're looking into it, so i hope they'll fix it at least by the end of the month.
Thank you for the answer :-) But i gotta say, it seems, there are some more problems here and there. If the intro offer is not extended and it´s already finished before these problems are solved, i guess i´m out of the game. Really followed the hype, but now it´s time to show a reaction after this maybe little difficult take off.
Just out of curiosity, your final mix of this video came from logic and mixed in it or made in Logic and mixed and exported from Pro tools?? THANKS A LOT! great video!! made me bought phobos
Great video, seems like a fantastic product. I appreciate you guys showing exactly what went into that trailer. However, I think it is a little disingenuous to use plugins that change the color of what you're purchasing (in this case distortion) to sell the product. To me, it's fine to use dynamics processing in the demo, but using distortion or anything that varies or color the sound really makes it hard to distinguish what I'm actually buying. The flip side of this is because of this video, now I know, so thanks for the information.
This is a contextual video with me clearly explaining that I am inserting this new plugin into my standard workflow which is to distort the bejesus out of everything. Just part of our policy of being composers making tools for other composers.... Here's the raw stuff, this is what it sounds like when you whack some smash on it!
I totally hear you! I'm not meaning to berate the video or sound snidely at all, as I said - I appreciate seeing the workflow and how Phobos is useful in the contexts of scoring or electronic music production. Spitfire always makes exceptional products and I am a BT and Devine fan, so of course I was listening in so carefully when this intro trailer first came out. This video very clearly explains what went into that, so my problem is not with the video at all, I'm just more disappointed that upon a first listen of the library in that intro vid, that all of the FX processes are not in Phobos itself, which isn't a huge dealbreaker, as I can throw some distortion on stuff too and be happy with the results, but I would expect when I'm 'first' listening to a product demo, (especially new territory for you guys like a synthesizer instrument) that I would hear it in it's purest form, and not with external processing. To be honest, I was kind of turned off by Phobos after seeing the promo vid but after this video I know I will eventually purchase it. Thanks for the reply Christian. This really is a small gripe.
Looking into first 2, more news soon, last option difficult as there isn't yet a friendly dev environment without people having to enter lines of code... v complicated beast under the cover! Content itself has taken over a year to prepare for the Phobos engine.
Hi there, this is a contextual demo, so not really designed as a massive exposition of the concept of polyconvolution.... here's the walkthrough which may help more: ruclips.net/video/FP83l8U3i9s/видео.html
As far as we know they do save but it is not as easy as other DAWs, we're looking into this whole issue... Our emphasis for the v1.0 release was a fully functional massively complicated convolutional mental bit of business hence the massive launch discount.... more functionality coming soon with an announcement of what to expect soon before promo ends.
Hi there, the promo period has been extended to the 27th, it is a massive discount for those willing to adopt a v1.0 plugin. We'll endeavour to announce our V1.1 intentions prior to that. Best CH.
What I also noted is that when you open a preset in Phobos, that preset is not reflected in Ableton...the preset remains as "Phobos Organ"...to have the preset reflected in the DAW, you need to open one from within Ableton...my guess is that there is a browser interface issue between the 2 products. Even with the issues in Ableton, the product is so freaking good...I was playing with it this afternoon, combining sounds and jamming out with this plus Biotek and the new WaveRazor.

Stunning sounds. When you create products at Spitfire, they are never less than superb.
Off topic, but I listened to your score for Tommy's Honour, and it's great! Congragulations on all your endeavors.
Being able to use and import our own samples would make this a must have!
I preordered and I'm in love with it. Bravo guys.
Thanks for sharing. Phobos looks very interesting. And nice Massive Attack bassline ;)
Love the Jan Hammer Miami Vice reference, Christian! Great vid! Trying to learn my BT Phobos as quickly as possible
Great demo more please !!!!

God I love logic's distortion plug......nice Christian and thanks for this....phobos=fantastic
Stunning instrument, I'm a very PROUD owner!
You sir, are crazeeee!
Beast of a track
The score sounds a bit like Alan Wilder / Recoil. Very cool!
Amazing synth! Still waiting for the Win7 support.
Patrick Hunt I'm waiting for Win95 support.
Yeah, Spitfire gotta step up their game and release the MS-DOS version as well.
puh, no win 7 support? :-/ 1 week late, then this ... at least the intro offer should be extended until these things are sorted out ...

To the tune of 12db! Hahaha
Such a Tart... Lol 😂
Whats' the book to your RHS?

@@HearingWorlds you hear them before he adds distortion man. You're not being done an injustice
Requests: Make the GUI 1.75 to 2.0 times larger, improve the preset browser, and allow us to import our own samples.

MENNNNNTTALLLLLLL
I thought I would learn what a polyconvulotion synth is from this video, but I still don't get how it works.
i was thinking the same thing

Watch the video again with the sound on.
Can you load your own samples a la alchemy?
No
There isn't really a friendly environment for doing that due to how this thing works under the hood, without having to enter in code directly
11:25 :)
The sounds sound not loud enough, too soft.I hope you fix it in a next update. For the rest, great!
Just casually showing off the Nagra, huh?
No I'm showing it off like a proud Dad.
Naturally
Nagra?
Andrew Mor Nagra tape recorder. You can see it behind Christian. Beautiful machines.
Why is the volume on this video so low?
They need to fix the preset problem. The presets don't save in Ableton Live. I won't buy this until that is fixed.
Spitfire Audio Will these issues be fixed by the promo end, or will the company extend the time?
