Grisha’s VA is so incredible. Every episode with him is a treat.
Notice how Gross was looking directly at the viewers when asserting that humans want to see cruelty, almost as though he’s breaking the fourth wall. His point is proved directly on the spot when viewers celebrate his gruesome comeuppance, cheering as they watch him being devoured by the titan.
Isayama is a mad man and a genius for that one

That's silly. People cheer for Gross's death because it's justice for Fay, not because it's cruel.
@@tiredidealist Right and that logic is also why putting the Eldians in interment camps and treating them as subhumans can’t be considered cruelty because it’s justice for the millions their people killed during the Great Titan war.
Not to say Fay deserved to die or deny that Gross deserved to know what it feels like to get eaten alive too, but cruelty in the name of ‘justice’ is still cruelty. Fascinating how one of the core messages of the entire show can just fly over ones’ head. So silly teehee.

I know you guys are a couple of episodes ahead in current time, but seeing you guys finally putting the puzzle pieces together after 3 seasons just like everyone else when these episodes aired is entertaining to watch

Just thinking back on the first couple epsidoes of this show, it seemed near impossible to imagine how complex and deep this story would be. I'm glad you all have gotten this far because there's absolutely no turning back now.
It's like we knew less than quarter of layers when watching first episodes for first time
Not many noticed but a lot of the restorationists that were turned into titans we already seen throughout aot even back into season 1, not just dina but the others as well
I really like they realized Grisha’s mistake about manipulating Zeke and called that out instead of just hating Zeke straight away

And about Zeke's name: in the subtitles in other languages, the spelling respects the German origin of the name (like so many names in AoT like Reiner, Hannes, Armin etc.): same pronunciation but it's spelled "Sieg", which means "Victory" in German. From the day he was born, Grisha and Dina saw Zeke/Sieg not as their son but as a mean for their fight. poor child

Every Titan that appeared when grisha was in the wall, were all in season 1, really cool being able to see them as normal humans and then turned into the enemies that killed erens squad in season 1. Also fun fact about the geography, if you take our globe and turn it upside down, then flip it horizontally. Paradise island is Madagascar, and Marley is Africa

Paradise has many very diverse ecosystems for an island. How is it possible to have deserts, coniferous forest, grasslands etc

And this is why ladies and gentlemen Attack on Titan is the best show of all time. People take anime lightly until they experience it. No show anime/non anime can touch this!!! The story, characters, plot twists, all is in perfection!!!
When Marley got introduced it was like prime M.Night Shyamalan on overdrive. The fact that outside the walls is basically "modern times" and they're centuries behind inside the walls except for the ODM gear. The fact that they're just on an island, but don't even know what an island is. Things like coffee, aircrafts and photographs exist but they have no idea. The original titans we saw in S1 are Grisha's comrades. Grisha's first wife ate his second wife. The beast titan being Eren's brother. The craziest thing is it all makes sense, none of it is just thrown together, it's been building to this piece by piece since episode 1.
You just have the best AoT reactions every time, I love this channel
Yeah i keep saying that for the last 3 episodes but damn that's peak fiction , it's so freaking amazing i can't even find the rights words , i wish i was able to forget aot and re watch it for the first time

In french traduction Dina says : ..Even in Titan my heart will always find you. That why Dina Titan follow eren in the first episode and eat Eren's mom, and why in the final ep saison 2 Dina Titan face Eren again : she just found Eren because eren has a little of his father heart.....

Just to spell it out a bit: the Eldians on Marley are (in certain respects) an allegory for Jews during the Holocaust. In the leadup to WW2, Jews in places like Poland were used as scapegoats by fascists ascending to power, who slowly whittled away their basic civil rights. This included things like being forced to live inside cramped, decrepit "internment zones" (also known as ghettoes, which is where the English language first picked up that word) and being forced to wear arm bands in public that "warned" everyone they were jewish.
The historic roots and nature of modern antisemitism are complex, but one common trope used against them is the claim that their people were ultimately responsible for killing Jesus. This argument is often used to rationalize treating them as subhuman monsters to this day. In a movement like Nazism that was so heavily influenced by the Christo-fascism of the Lutheran-heavy Germany, this was all the justification they needed to commit genocide.
Of course, it's far from a perfect allegory. After all, the Eldians' ancestors did commit crimes against humanity (not that it justifies the prejudice, of course) whereas Jewish people have never been a colonialist empire that kills people. But there's still some pretty explicit parallels.

This episode is just so crazy and information packed. When I first watched this episode I literally had to replay most of the information scenes at least 5 times to fully grasp everything XD
Also a little detail from previous foreshadowing, regarding the titans in the walls arm hooking, they show us back in season 1 episode 25 the wall-ists praying in three circles with their arms hooked representing the three walls, followed with being trampled by the female titan XD

I'm watching Attack on Titan Season 3 for the first time with the update of Beauty and the Beard, but there are so many things in the past few episodes that I'm confused 😂😮😱
If you look at eren ,zeke and grisha titan design they have a pointy ears it's a hint detail back in season 2-3 that eren and zeke are blood related i dont know the reason why they have pointy ear

Gross (the executioner on the wall) is actually calling you out (looking directly at the camera - calling violence "interesting" (you still watch the show - intrigued by the violence) and justifying it with "if only you weren't Eldian." (because hes a Marleyan - not someone "on your side" you use the same justification for enjoying watching a human suffer and die) and guess what? You proved his point.

4:10 It was painful when you previously, innocently and full of hope, said "Eren has an Aunt". Season 3, part 2... holds no punches and aims for your gut.
This is something that got lost in translation but in Japanese, what Zeke told Eren could mean "You look nothing like your dad" but it could also mean "You look nothing like dad", so the hint that they were brothers came much earlier
The Titan that ate Eren in episode 5 season 1 was also there as a member of the restorationist and was one that got turned.

What Zeke's dad "grisha" told him about Eldians isn't the truth, he just assumed that was the case they didn't even know how to deceifer those texts they just assumed that Eldians were good and Ymir was a. "savior goddess" it's not the truth you kept saying truth😂
When this SHYT came out in 2019, best believe the whole Shingeki no Kyojin (AoT) community watched this episode multiple times to even catch insane amount of information they literally throw at you and say "here, this is the general sum of the past 1,800 years " in 2 minutes. Attack on titan truly reflects our history. Basically europeans are the eldians who killed and enslaved several asian and african colonies. Marleyans represent the once great asian and african countries who were destroyed by eldians (europeans) Now people of eldia (europe) dont believe that their ancestors did anything wrong. ( just like the mindset of the restorationists)
