Their teacher probably slowed it down because they can’t play fast enough.. id rather have my students play super slow than fast and sounding horrible.
Oh and I played the string festival. Yeah I'm in forth grade and I played 1st Violin. Another question. Are you supposed to do down up up for the 1st violin part the double stopped a and d?
well im doing that speed as well and i like it better than 176 or whatever the speed was. i think it really compliments the piece better than doing it really fast :)
How old are these kids? Ever heard of the String Festival? The 4 and 5 graders play twice as fast as this. Over all it's still pretty good even if it was slow! :)
+Citlaly Loza Albarran well their orchestra is playing it way too slow. it is meant to be played at a speed of 176. they are probably playing at a 90 or something similar. if your teacher sped it up it would be interesting. that's what my orchestra teacher is doing and it doesn't sound half bad.

I think the recommended speed is 176 and we played at about 150 and it was still faster than that...
I play this, but in our middle school orchestra, we play it at 170 beats per minute.
