This is what got me into miniatures. Awesome terrain pieces. This also makes me want to have a mini diorama of a dad decked out in his weekend wear pushing a lawn mower through all the tall static grass. Just a mini scene showing a clear cut strip and the rest of the "yard" tall and overgrown.
This is soooo good! I dream of having a bayou board inspired by Hunt: the Showdown for Dracula's America and this video is really making it hard to maintain any excuses for not building an amazing looking board ina reasonable time!
Wonderful video as always. Is this the board you were working on in the Pickle Jar video when Josh comes and asks if you can help him build his first terrain board?
I like the idea and the ruins are fantastic. The leds don't seem represented well, though. Perhaps if the mushrooms were painted (orange?) it would provide some contrast or draw the eye to the glow.
Hi Luke, firstly, sorry for the long comment! Only found your channel recently after listening to the Traped Under Plastic pod, safe to say I've been binging your videos since! Really enjoying the style, production and informative approach. I'm currently planning on building my first gaming table/terrain set and considering whether to build a traditional board or try and make my own custom, textured mat using a plastic lined canvas. Just wondering if you've ever tried the latter and if you have any thoughts on making custom mats?
Mel the Terrain Tutor has some custom mats tutorials. How ever, if you have the space and the tools. I'd say go for a full board. Way more enjoyment in the build and you're pretty much bound to your own creativity and skill. Mats are quite limited because you're pretty much just bound to a textured surface that you place terrain on. It doesn't tie in together as well.
2:37 Oh we most certainly do have glowing mushrooms in nature. I remember treating two patients who had eaten poisonous mushrooms, and they'd thoughtfully brought a sample of them in with them. They glowed in the dark! (And so did their vomit!) Anyway, another inspiring, wonderful build. Thanks so much for sharing.
What kind of glue are you spraying out of that big canister? I bought scenic paste in a spray bottle but what you're doing seems WAY better for a larger board.
looking at the final board.. and this came to mind: "When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. And that one sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, and then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up. And that’s what you’re going to get, Son, the strongest castle in all of England."
"Huh, this looks pretty cool, I'll give the kickstarter a glance. Hmm, wow, if I ever wanted to start ANOTHER AoS army, these would totally work as proxies for Gloomspite Gitz. Oh nice, they have a Rogue Idol proxy for my Ironjawz! ... and the terrain is pretty nice." So anyway I bought all of it, goddamnit.
Nice one pal. Love seeing how quickly the combination of 3D printing and your "No Painting" terrain methods can bring an awesome looking board together!
"20mil' bead goes round the outside, round the outside, round the outside. 20mil' bead goes round the outside, and gives you somewhere to put the foam in." What a lovely, moist looking board.
Great video as always! Gonna try out with some videos and live hobby streams, wish me luck! 😂✌🏻 gonna need it! ( and a subscribe would go a long way!! )
Beautiful. Out of the average gamers price range and equipment. Lots of advertising for products that are expensive or not available in US. 3D printing costs too much for most gamers.
Great Video as usual! Would be great to get a nice flocker but the one you are using is not available to the US. Im tired of the woodland scenics one I have. Any Ideas?
Great build, and I have had a subscription for Asgard Rising for about a year now - you're right; their models are great! I am a little confused with the end of the vid, though. You went to all the time and trouble to lay in the LEDs, but then you never turn the lights down to show off the eerie effect of their light at the reveal in the end.
It's unfortunate that the static flocker only sells to businesses. Great video! I picked up some things to try for when my players go to my bog setting.
man, this would be cool to play a game in a dark room with nothing but the LEDs and each player gets a small keychain LED flashlight. Don't forget a soundtrack of crickets and bullfrogs.
Really nice man. I really like the tip on the leaf litter soaking in and sinking in to the epoxy resin, thats going in the memory banks Would work perfectly for the dead marshes LOTR
@@GeekGamingScenics .. ow can we recreate this board if we cant purchase the basic tools required ? Would any other type of dog do ? pfffffffff ...... dog do . Yep i'll get mi coat.
Lovely board. I'm in planning stages of a game/display board for my 40k ork army who in my head cannon are based in a sort of temperate rainforest (their bases are all muddy, and covered with leaves and twigs, and their warbikers are all riding Warhammer Fantasy Iron Jaw Orruk boars from about 10 years back). I've been collecting odd bits of ork terrain (a few sets of the terrain from the new version of Kill Team, and the Mek Boy Workshop) and the terrain from the new Necromunda Ash Wastes set to set within an Endor-like setting. I saw your recreation of the Ewoks vs AT-ST diorama, but now it seems I'll have to watch your moss effect video next. I have a feeling those Ash Waste structures and elevated walkways are going to look awesome done up for a forest setting. Here's hoping I can do them justice. Thanks for the videos.
I like everything except the ruins. Ill be honest here its the biggest eyesore of the board. It just looks like a primed centerpiece. If it was me I would have at the very least Bry-brushed it.
My god does this mean I have got to start fantasy gaming if I build a board like this lol ? Great build as always Luke , I’m running out of room I have 2 boards from your videos already , cheers phil

Why has this video not got like 1 million view! Top stuff!
Love it! Screams Dark Souls (which really needs a solo skirmish game). I'll be definitely checking those ruins out.
The transformation of the moss paste is insane. Another sweet build squire.
I swear that stuff is made of magic.
Another great build mate , really awesome 🇦🇺👍🏻

normally id work back excess layers of polystyrene with a heat gun but if i had access to a wire cutter THAT BIG id use it all the time, just because.
There are bioluminescent mushrooms!
He he
2:32 glowing mushrooms do exist actually and they are pretty cool

When they ate the glowing mushrooms, did it recharge their batteries?
@@Midnormeyou’ve heard how gullible he is… yes, they should recharge your batteries.
I gotta try that dog texturing technique sometime, looks really effective.
“Shrek vibes intensify”
"Onion scent rising"
I really like watching this stuff. Dioramas and gaming boards like this I can see my self building despite not needed to. This build was so cool.
What is the name of the modeling compound you use? The one you used in the cheap and quick war gaming table video where you didn’t need gloves.
What kind of glue are you spraying out of that big canister? I bought scenic paste in a spray bottle but what you're doing seems WAY better for a larger board.
Hello from Texas! We’re you able to find the link for the cobble textured paper? Thanks
I'm about to start my own WW1 Trench style board, and this is the sort of inspiration I needed. Thank you!

Will be a good board for a Lizardman army , :-)

Awesome job, particularly like the dog texturising, is he available through your store?😉
Great video. Bioluminescent fungi generally grow in south America, mainly the bonnet genus. Amateur mycologist here :)
How is the doggo doing
Now I finally know why my builds are lackluster - I haven't got a texturing dog! Jokes aside, lovely build, mate!

That board looks great and would be good for Kill Team
Nice to see hard work going into making a beautifuls scene. Would love to see gameplay using your resources... please add link if available.

I'd love to be doing this stuff but storage makes it impossible. Stuck with modular.
I only go to swamps with adequate LED lighting 😁. Nice build!

What'd you use for the pine trees and the fern/pine looking bushes? They look incredible
Luke how can I go about buying the same applicator you used in this video, I believe it is only available to businesses only.
Wow amazing. Defos some class ideas for a mirkwood board
What is that superglue you use to glue down rubble and bricks? Any particular brand or reason?
Looks really cool and different.
Your giant foam cutter - did you make it or is one commercially available?
Hope you’re doing well Luke. Miss you a bunch.
There is a glowing mushroom in nature! A small guy from South America
Lovely table Luke!
Any links for that wall paper!? Another great video as usual
Top notch. Now we just need to see a batrep on this board.
man, this would be cool to play a game in a dark room with nothing but the LEDs and each player gets a small keychain LED flashlight. Don't forget a soundtrack of crickets and bullfrogs.
Very reasonable.
Any ideas on how that moss was made? It is indeed incredible how it dries up and looks at the end
Dog is objectively the premier brick texturing technique
I honestly thought the mask was on account of a bout of flatulence.
Where'd you get the static grass applicator?
Awesome video and board !! Well done and thanks
sweet board! really enjoyed this video
Very cool and thematic intro - and table !
There’s a Shrek joke in this and I can’t find it
Looks great. Love the theme

Moss paste link? I can’t find it.
Goblins? What no lizard men?
9:19 where did that gut come from lol
what was the moss paste video called?
Amazing work😁👍🏻
Huzzah
Great looking board.
What a beautiful board! This will definitely be a treat for many nights!. Also I loved using the pup for foam texture haha, so cute 😊
Awesome results! Making something the way you want to make it is the best way to come out with a winner 👍 thanks for sharing the inspiration!
Is the Dachshund available from your store ?

HOW DO!!
nice
great board. But i have a maybe silly question: Will the Moss rot at some point or is it kinda conserved now?
@@GeekGamingScenics ah ok. Wasnt clean at this point. Thx mate.
kind of want to see you try and make a Fallout style/themed board. Maybe something from Far Harbor or The Pitt
