This shit puts me to fucking sleep like nothing else can in the best way. Like, I used to fall asleep to South Park when I was young and living with my parents, they’re gone now. Matt and Treys’ voices are familiar but calm to me, makes me feel safe ❤
First time listening to all of these and they’ve become my obsession(Matt and Trey). Listening through it sounds like trey is the brains of the show and Matt is the heart of the show .
A history channel thanksgiving has gradually become one of my favourite episodes after i actually saw something on history channel, amazing parody episode
32:54 As an Spaniard I can certify that “Mantequilla“ doesn’t sound noble at all hahahaha it sounds little and cute, it is the diminutive form of “manteca“… also Butters is pronounced like Spanish for toilet so XDD
Damn. This is cool. Is the Spanish in the show okay? I know that the German in _FunnyBOT_ is a bit awkward, but that they also got Inuit and Somalian speakers. How does it sound to you?
@@wormwoodcocktail honestly is so broken that I hardly understand it hahahaha for example in the song about minorities they said «guarden sus brazos y piernas dentro del paseo», meaning «keep your arms and legs inside the ¿car?» I think, because paseo means walk… maybe they meant ride but then dentro/inside makes no sense… And guardar is save, not keep… so it’s very confusing jajaja And in the episode where Cartman made Mexicans paint the house it was pretty similar for both sides. Even «no es bueno» sounds very awkward because we would say «eso no está bien», or actually we would rather say «¡muy mal!» (literally: very bad!) given the context!
@@personadeincognito Damn. I really appreciate the thorough explanation. Why do you think they made these mistakes? Like, you said that the speech is awkward. Is it awkward in an “overly formal” way or something else? I’m really curious about whether there are any “tells” that the SP creators were using DeepL or Google Translate, or whatever else. Anyway, thanks!🍻
@@wormwoodcocktail don’t worry! I study translation and interpreting so I like this topic hahaha. Actually I think that it may be machine translation as you said, because the grammar and choice of words is very awkward. Or maybe some members of the team had some kind of knowledge and tried to make the sentences themselves. The thing is that the grammar follows English structures «that’s no good» = «no es bueno», but sometimes it just makes no sense like «la caca de moreno alta» (literally: the brunette’s poop (is) tall). «No come la taco la trabajar» would rather be «¡Nada de tacos en el trabajo!» (it is EL taco, but in this context the article is not used, also trabajar is a verb, so you can’t use an article there. The whole sentence is wrong, it literally means «You are not eating tacos at work» but very broken). Also «marrado» does not even exist, I have 0 idea about what they train to say, but in our dubbing he said «suavemente» (softly) hahaha. So they definitely did not hire a translator or just someone who knows Spanish XDD
You guys ever think about how strong woman went through a full pregnancy and the pc babies aged over half a year but it’s taken Stan like 20 years to turn 10?
When they brought up Border Wars and cop shows and TV-that show was filmed in my hometown. The BP’s are one of the most corrupt law enforcement agencies, and that show really regressed the town back by a lot because of how bad they portrayed it. Not just that, but those same BP’s filmed were the absolute worst human beings who have been involved in x amount of allegations from protecting rapists and murderers within their own, one being a serial killer who they weren’t gonna release his info until backlash from the community. Idk why I went in this tangent, but yeah, fuck Border Wars lol
There are several reasons why I don't much like South Park from 2010-2014, and these commentaries illuminate some of them. Too many of their satirical targets were small potatoes. "You mean to tell me that the reality tv shows you happen to be watching on any particular week are lowbrow, exploitive, and vapid? You don't say! Get the fuck outta here!"
Honestly, I believe those were the golden years where they had gotten a lot better with pacing and making a tight coherent story. Trey and Matt don't even like the earlier seasons and I can see why. They just...got better at making the show. Although ofc you can enjoy whatever you want to enjoy I just disagree with you.
@@BuckerydogSchmuckeryDog Yeah I think they're sorely wrong about their own work. Story and narrative don't really matter to me in South Park - it's the boldness and the element of surprise.
@@flaccidusminimus2170 oh...dude that was like a physical blow. Just for the shock value alone? Then why give a shit about South Park? The internet and media are full of media that's only in it for the surprise element.
@@BuckerydogSchmuckeryDog Because that is where all of the best humor originates: pushing or defying boundaries. ALL effective humor is about defying audience expectations. Predictability is the antithesis. That's what made South Park great in its first 10 years. The tipping of sacred cows and the gleeful violation of taboos. Narrative has very little to do with the essence of South Park, and in the best episodes, it barely matters. It isn't supposed to be like The Simpsons: a tame program mindful of conventions and good taste.

Have listened to all these uploads numerous times and am still continuing to do so thanks for re-uploading them on your new channel bruh
“Bruh”

Ditto 😅 When I have trouble sleeping, I just pop one of these on 😊
They’re actually very insightful
Why do I love listening to these guys so much ?
Every season of commentary opens with them saying how they hate doing these, it’s so funny
Every time Matt and Trey say show instead of episode take a shot
Yeah I've been noticing this since the season 1 commentary 😭
I understand why they reset things after You’re Getting Old but I’m really sad we never got to see the alternate serialized ideas.
I am genuinely crushed theres no update on Tron Legacy
