Great flying Jay!!! Man this was awesome to see you rip this, and do the low passes on the first time out with it. You're a beast!! Would love to see what you could do with the thrust vectoring. Keep killin' it brotha!
Don't go 8s mate. I've just been messing with mine doing thrust tests and Watt readings. With the TV installed you need 1kg of battery to CG the 1500kv edf. That's a flying weight of 4kg and thrust of 3.7kg. I've tested the stock edf on 7s and thats the way I'm going to go. Balances with 900g of 5000 cnhl 70c, flying weight of 3.6kg and thrust of 3.8kg.
@sendit_rc that's 890g (tbe) of 7s 5000. Which I think is reasonable..750g is about reasonable for a 5000 6s good quality lipo. Another 150g for another cell in the form of 2 lipo packs is about right. I found lighter lipos tend to not be truthful to their mah in my personal experience.
Only thing I don't like is it hasn't the "integrated flaps" that I really like on my Freewing Avanti S V2 80mm. Also, I would recommend FMS shorten the front nose gear strut to help avoid porpoising on landings. The mighty Avanti is notorious for porpoising on landings.
Seems to me for a 5000mah battery, it should last longer than that. I cannot get over the cost vs use time of these batteries per flight. I don't know, maybe I am too old school but just seems that with todays technology, they can make a battery last longer than a few minutes before you have to stop flying. Ugh.. lol
Ya know what’s funny. I thought the V2 was a 70mm lol it’s a 80!!! I turbine converted mine so had no idea the fan size. I like the way the freewing flys. But this 90 is legit. I think I’m also going to turbine covert this to a 45
Not even close...price point way to high..freewings 80mm is a much better avanti all the way around. The only selling point is the thrust vectoring. 4 out of 5 at the airfield that purchased haved said the same thing.
Fly the pattern! lol when I do reviews I fly by myself so you hear this plane and this plane alone. Videos are annoying to me when there’s other plane sounds !
@@Jays_rcgarage Especially I’m sure when you’re trying to showcase the sound, like with an edf. Plus you just need the freedom to show what you need to show for a video. After a twenty year hiatus I’ve come to find out that it’s going to cost 160 bucks just to use my field, not including the required insurance. I’m going to find some open space with a road or two out in eastern Colorado to fly the nitro plane I still have from 26 years ago.

Nice job flying that maiden, my nerves would have been out of control. What a beautiful plane.
I was nervous but Avanti’s fly great!
@@Jays_rcgarage You probably just sold me my first jet with this video. Well, after the Arrows T-33 you sold me first.
@@Jays_rcgarage I’m going to take a muscle relaxer first. What was your most difficult maiden in the hundreds of planes you flew?

🔥🔥🔥🔥
900 grams for a 5000 is heavy! Lighter 5000 choices out there.

Thanks for this beautiful and honest first flight of the FMS Avanti.
Own the Freewing Avanti S v2 myself, but a trust vector seems very cool to me :-)
Nice job Jay! Thank you for the great content.
That looks great what do you have planned for it
Great Maiden!!
The red & gold are 🔥🔥
Awesome looking plane and flight
Wow she landed nice!
I don’t know what that airplane is but it fly’s real good
I am getting mine today 😊😊😊so happy
New to the channel, great videos!
Are you from Long Island?

Jumped right off the ground!
Super maiden Jay.
Very nice man👌👌
Fantastic jet and flying. Just nose wheel is bit bouncy.
The FreewingV2 is a bullet for a EDF
Please review the UMX comscendo!! Or his big brother!
I’m new to the hobby. Does it come with everything you need to start flying?
PNP only.. No transmitter, receiver, battery and charger.
@ oh are they easy to fit
That plane looks INCREDIBLE!!!! Then pilot skillssssssss though🔥🔥
What field do you fly at?
FMS should use that shot at the 11:00 mark to advertise this beauty. Absolutely stunning jet.
weird request but could you reccomend a cheap jas-39 gripen
Your review was fun to watch and would be my primary motivation for getting one!
I LOVE my FMS Yak-130. 6S 3300

I'm with ya on that, when EDF s reach 7 to 10 mins it'll be a major step.
This one better than the Freewing Avanti v2?

Rc car guy here Why did it cut off on the climb ?
I think FMS is going to be the first to put brakes on a foam plane
I want to to get a trainer any recommendations and do you turn with rudder or alerons
If you want a trainer jet better start with 64mm edf F22 raptor, freewing banshee or fms futura
btw. the 6sTurnigy Graphene 5000 weighs more (925 g) than the 6s Heavy Duty 6200 (895 g)🤓.
Woahhh, I did not know that. Thanks for the info !
pls make a fpv video
1000.00 is little too much for me with conversion
NERVOUS JUST WATCHING
Yooo
just a shame the foam is weak and paint is thin and fades / bubbles quick in the sun....
Lower…

I assume you can’t fly completely aimlessly haphazardly when others are flying.

I assume you fly paper planes and you’re just mad. Pipe down Becky

Toy plane, step up some 120-130mm jets
