This song had potential to be a #1 if had been officially sung by Beatles
YES! I was thinking this would a HUGE #1. If they released a Beatle version in 1964. I guarantee you it would go to #1 and stay there for 6 weeks. (LOL, It's all conjecture but what fun to imagine!)
It went to #1 Billy J. Kramer didn't it?
It did go to #1.
Absolutely
@@ernestleong476
I think it did but Lennon should have sung it
Lennon's chord progressions were pure genius. Simple sounding, but complex at the same time.
Sure thing, it remembers me of Till There Was You that is my favourite chord progression by John.
Exactly. Most of it is just simply in the key of E, but he occasionally throws in a G augmented chord, and then he throws in a C#7 and Bm chord in there just once each, at the perfect time.
@@albertorogatto1358 Till There Was You is a song composed in 1950 by Meredith Willson. It indeed has a very beautiful chord progression, but is not a Lennon/McCartney song.
You bet but I would like to mean, it's not a Beatles song but I'm regarding the arrangement made by The Beatles/George Martin and the way it were done by them specially John's part.
@@albertorogatto1358it's true, the arrangement sounds unique from the original.
0:12 has perfect timing
And this 0:37
This is the most underrated song of all time and you can't change my mind
Billy j Kramer did the best version
One of the top great songs, not so well known as it should be
whiney snotty nosed singing and tinny guitars.....crap.
You’re not deserving of the title Cool Daddy
Its not even the Beatles best song! 😂
It’s amazing how even the songs the gave away wound up being a hit for another performer. That’s talent!
0:27 is so iconic
What's the context of the clip?
@@austinpriest9830 It looks like the recording of the A Hard Days Night album.
@@l0serrr.r I pretty sure that you are right
The clip there might be them recording "Tell Me Why"
GM is so fine…. i won’t him >
All John Lennon, he loved playing with the words in his songs, this one is not only no exception, but probably one his best compositions of the early years.
I love these very early recordings of songs they never recorded themselves.
They did record it. That's what this is.
Beatles demos are better than the real recordings😊❤
I've always loved this song. ❤️
In the early days the Beatles, many times used words like birds and blue to describe a young person's emotions. PM eg. "Birds sing out of tune and raindrops hide the moon", JL eg "Oh dear what can I do, baby's in black and I'm feelin' blue".
You're right about that. Their lyrics on their earlier songs were often pretty simplistic, but still great.
Pretty normal for its time I think
TIME TIME TIME TIME MACHINE 💕
just when you thought you have heard all of their songs
Yeah! And then along comes this masterpiece in your recommendations 🤣
I wish they had released this as a Beatles song...
They did. It's on, "The Beatles Bootleg Recordings 1963," which is actually an official release (and not a bootleg).
Love this SONG 🎸🥁🎤🎸🎤🎸🎤🎸🎤❣👍
How have I never heard this...
If you ever leave me, I'll be sad and blue
Don't you ever leave me, I'm so in love with you
The birds in the sky would be sad and lonely
If they knew that I'd lost my one and only
They'd be sad, if you're bad to me
The leaves on the trees would be softly sighin'
If they heard from the breeze that you left me cryin'
They'd be sad, don't be bad to me
But I know you won't leave me 'coz you told me so
And I've no intention of lettin' you go
Just as long as you let me know, you won't be bad to me
So the birds in the sky won't be sad and lonely
'Coz they know that I've got my one and only
They'll be glad, you're not bad to me
But I know you won't leave me 'coz you told me so
And I've no intention of lettin' you go
Just as long as you let me know, you won't be bad to me
So the birds in the sky won't be sad and lonely
'Coz they know that I've got my one and only
They'll be glad, you're not bad to me
They'll be glad, you're not bad to me..., to me..., to me...
This cheers me up endlessly.
Same! And I don't even know why!!
Good song and performance. One John wrote early on, along with One After 909 and What Goes On.
Hit for Billy J Kramer...great vocals from John
No!... really!? There's always one.
What these guys threw away, others would KILL to be able to write!
I wrote 19 note books of songs, going for it.. So see what I wrote and write..
John Lennon wrote this song. The Beatles Mgr. Brian Epstein, by this time, was now Manging multiple Bands, and he was always looking for some material for them. So John, as a favor to Brian Epstein, gave this song up for "Billy J. Kramer and The Dakotas" to record. Naturally, it was a hit for The Dakotas. This is a great song musically, with great chord changes, and that typical Lennon augmented-chord (B+) for around that time period.
Javier, just because a Lennon-McCartney composition was sung by someone other than The Beatles, it doesn't mean that it wasn't or isn't a great song, and you can't say it isn't good because they DIDN'T sing it themselves. Just sayin'.
@@pinedelgado4743 When you get rid of that lie in your nick, you'll get smart enough to learn to read and know that what you say in no way contradicts what I said.

This song sounds like a typical lennon's composition and has something similar to another his composition of " do you want to know a secret?" Which was also sung by a person instead of the composer. Both of which are singing about pure hearted teenage love affair and have very beautiful melodies.
Same 'other person', Billy J. Kramer, not forgetting The Dakotas!
Mais uma jóia de John!
Um gênio
The Beatles always go on❤️
Good good good very nice.
They will make it these lads I can see it now, look out for them 👍
The Beatlesong Music🎸🎼🎵💓
Skvělá písnička ❤️
The Beatles should have done this one on their first album. It would have been a Number One hit.
Excellent
Please don’t be bad to me
Hermosos tiempos que no volverán
Nice job Sebastiano - Bravo!
They never actually recorded this one. Thanks for loading this rare audio of them.
They did record it. That's what this is.
😍
EDIT: I fell in love with a girl two and a half years ago, and this song was ‘our song’. She broke up with me just the other day, the pain is unbearable and I feel so empty and alone without her. I know she changed all of a sudden but I’d give anything to go back to 2018, back to how everything was. I wish I knew at the time that those times would be the best times of my life. I don’t know what to do now, I don’t know where to go and I don’t know what to say. I distract myself by spending most of my time with friends, but the minute I get into bed at night and I’m all alone it hits me like a rock. The breakup isn’t even the hardest part, it’s all the memories that I have to say goodbye to in order to move on. She was my first kiss, the first person I ever loved and felt loved by. I still love her and I still need her, I just wish it was a two-way-thing. It breaks my heart to see her so happy without me, I don’t know what I did. I never thought this day would come, I can’t bear living without her. She was all I had, and I gave her all I had to give. I cannot believe she doesn’t love me anymore, I’m in denial, it can’t be true this can’t be happening. I’m so lost, and I’m so close to giving up.
Paul McCartney do you have to bring that here?
Paul McCartney just no
Paul McCartney why do you want to do that meme? I’m actually asking.. I want to know where you get the enjoyment from. What’s fun about it? I actually would like to know.
Mean Mr Mustard gay?
Paul McCartney ohhh I get it now! You like memes because you’re gay. Makes sense
Very COOL ♡♡♡
Even it's only a demo, it's the original. And I like it very much more then the Version of Billy J. Kramer. The voice and the look of this guy seems to me a little bit slimy. Not to compare with John.
what you're talking about Billy j Kramer did a great job..
They gave the song Bad to me. To Billy J. KRAMER & THE DAKOTAS.

Buddy Holly and Valens died in route to the Fargo, North Dakota. Lennon was shot in front of the Dakota
Franklin D Roosevelt died while he was still in office and John Lennon died at Roosevelt Hospital. Also, Buddy rhymes with Eddie and Valens is a combination of Van and Halen but with an S on the end.

Very keen observations!
Abraham Lincoln was shot in Ford's Theater... Kennedy was shot in a Lincoln Contenantal..a Ford product
And this song was a hit for Billy J Kramer .... and the Dakotas.
@@LennyJohnson5 lol! good one!

not ringo playing
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
John flushed the toilet on his demo!!!
They totally threw away this song. This would have been a massive hit for them. A way better version than the Billy J Kramer & The Dakotas version.
Should have done a John & Paul harmony on the bridge.
Good the way it is

It's like they didn't have their heart into it.
Sounded like one of them was playing a mandolin
Great song but the Beatles threw it away to Billy J Kramer !Could never figure that out!
I think Eppy asked them to give to Kramer as latter was also Eppy managed and Eppy needed a hit for Kramer to make mullah and hit the charts. Then years later did the same for Badfinger via Paul/Apple. Stones needed a hit so Eppy had them write Wanna be your Man...another hit but Eppy didn't manage Stones.
También he pensando mucho en eso, porque si te fijas hay muchas canciones en su discografia que prácticamente se podrían considerar boleros: if i fell, do You want to Know a secret, PS I love You, and i love her, yesterday, ask me why, i Will, till there was You (cover) y algunas otras, bastantes de hecho.
The instruments sound to be recorded in an overdub. When was the recording from and in what context was it recorded
Not home recordings. Was it written by them?
It's incredible that in those days you wrote a song and the record company owned the rights to it. That is absolutely criminal. When Michael Jackson bought The Beatles back catalogue despite all the number ones Paul had and despite only trying to raise half the money he could not afford to even bid. It shows how much The Beatles were screwed over. Not once either. Despite the fame and the chance to own their later music, they got screwed again.
If Paul did a new recording of songs he wrote he'd have to get permission to do it.
What was the deal with John and Gaug lol.
This sounds too much like Billy J. Kramer, but the Beatles did write it. So I guess it is them singing it.
I love Billy J kramer version but Beatles do it better . I thought Lennon-McCartney wrote a couple songs for Billy J Kramer as a friend.
A random guy send me link of this video. What thats mean?
He has good music taste and don't be bad to him.
Bas Muys?
I can not speak English like you , i learn vietnamese for 12 years
This song would have been perfect for Gerry & the Pacemakers.
This fake song has been bootlegged so many times that everybody actually thinks it's the Beatles now. The Beatles never recorded this song. This is a John Lennon double-tracked demo along with someone's lame attempt to overdub additional instruments. I still have my original John Lennon bootleg from the '70s without all of this crap added on it. I'm wondering if it's even on RUclips because this is the only version that everyone is copying.
Can you help me teach foreign language fluently , English, Chinese , Russian , Fransaice , bon jour commang tale vouz
I think Billy J Kramer sang it better.
Boring song
Mais uma jóia de John!
