16:36 “This world doesn’t know how to interact with introverts without taking offense.” Powerful statement and I definitely agree. Such an authentic and beautiful interview and I believe so many black women will feel seen! 💛✨ Definitely purchasing.
I Watched this interview once, listened to the audio book, and then watched this interview again. She’s a very thoughtful woman, she talks with grace and is learning to accept who she is. I learned about myself from reading her book.
This lady has found her calling for sure! She is beautiful inside and out. She is an introvert and so am I. She speaks very well, looks at everyone when she speaks. She speaks about dealing with extroverts at a distance and so do I. Read this book.
Great interview.. I was so bless to have both parents in the home growing up and my father was a strong Black man and my mom was a strong, nurturing Black woman!
Such a great interview! As a guy and person of color, much of what she said resonated on a deeper level, especially how we are perceived in the public and the importance a father figure. Definitely one of my favorite interviews and I have no doubts that her book will be a runaway success.
Yeah, she speaks like an introvert, so Am'I. She seems like a nonconfrontational person. Just a calm, thought tone of conversation. The thing that's concerning is,.. introverts, we tend to isolate ourselves a lot.
Great interview! I love that the fellas shared their experiences while listening as well. Shenequa shows wonderful conversation skills, humor, whit and great vibes. Gotta love an authentic soul when you see one ❤
Great interview: I purchased 3 copies for 3 very different but very important young Black women in my life. And I’ve sent the link for the book to the people I know with daughters who could gain from these essays.
I’m an extrovert and I don’t use people 😭. I respect my introverted friends by giving them space and going at their social pace. I also respect my fellow extroverts by exploring new places and experiences and talking about anything and everything lol!
This was a very rich conversation, I will definitely purchase the book. Sometimes having the biological and/or stepfather in the home may create more pain and chaos. I think in many cases it may be a blessing in disguise when an unhealthy parent is not in the home. It is still a void nonetheless but only God knows what may have been avoided with their absence. Another point, My daughter prefers her ‘step’ father, (with no ill will towards her biological father) but he was not around since she was two years old, she has expressed to her dad (we don’t use the term step) that she has not felt a void like some women may feel because her ‘step’ dad occupied and filled that space so well she didn’t feel like there was a void in her life. Her father has never uttered “step” nor his family either and continues to provide for and give her unconditional love as his own biological daughters/her sisters. I guess it really depends on the person’s individual experience. I’ve read a book and listened to a profound Ted talk several years ago on the topic of introverts and their brilliance. However, I really enjoyed the way she shared her perspective on being an introvert it really resonated with me. 💎 I look forward to reading the book. #lifelonglearner. #lovetoread
Shout out to Shenequa! We love a black woman who is true to herself. My message to her is: You are powerful and beautiful in your Essence without the revealing clothing and BBL. The God in you can be recognized. Thank you for being a role model for us Black Gworls ❤️
Shalom, WAKE THAT MIND UP! Thanks for sharing this conversation with Shenequa Golding, her story is dope! She mentioned "men washing the dishes after dinner, taking out the trash etc." It brought memories, from a child, the first thing after eating breakfast/ dinner was to wash the dishes and clean the kitchen. I've been married for 33 years, washing dishes, taking out the trash, cleaning the house, as the man of my house, no problem. Shenequa Golding, thank you, kudos.
She is as brilliant as she is gorgeous.. looking forward to reading her book.. always welcome a perspective even if it's not my own.. Keep shining Queen🌹🌹👑🌹🌹
This again was a great interview by the Breakfast Club. I enjoyed it and I am going to share it on my platform to inform Black girls and introverts who are often misunderstood. Ricardo Authenticity Rating for this podcast 10 out of 10. There is no magic to the rating. I’m just an attentive listener to the podcast and try to share my honest opinion. I’m not trying to fail podcasters, but I’m interested in uplifting podcasts. Great job guys.
As I get older, I am realizing that much of aging is about genetics and taking care of yourself. Some people just fall a part after their teens and 20s.
That's right, thank God for what ami respects beautiful music, enjoy it and God bless you, oh and always, greetings from the United States to the world, good night.
Our community is messed up I’m tired of these conversations where black women and men have unhealed trauma. You can tell dating her would be tiresome. I agree with Envy do what you enjoy to do and focus on the joy. Stop worrying about did that person reciprocate or not. Not everyone is ready for marriage which does take work. If you not ready to put in that work then just enjoy dating or single life.
@@inglewoodjet52 not sure what u mean but work out all that trauma from past men or relationships and daddy issues. We have too much of this in our community where black folks aren’t interested in dating each other anymore. The current flex is to date outside our race which is sad
@@hualum I agree with the healing but both have to heal....then we can love each other properly. That's what I'm saying. Running to another race without healing is not the solution. I think we agree... lol I'm currently in therapy but I have yet to hear a black man is as well (as far as the streets). I ain't pointing any fingers but...... lol I love my black men but I'm not dating anymore unhealed one's. I am manifesting a husband, some of us want to spend the rest of our life with our best friend/lover. But believe me, I am prepared to be alone and happy.
If bw havent caught onto the race baiting propaganda by now, there's no hope. They distracting u all with race 😢& a false (blk grl mgic)sense of status so u won't realize wats really goin on...Jeff Bezos called bcuz there's agenda from high up looking 4 anybody willing to push the narrative💯

💚I love this young lady with every fiber of my being 💙 I clicked on this interview because I was like “who is this 28yr old BADDIE” ❤️ then as I’m watching the video I was impressed with her humility wisdom and humor 💜I wish her nothing but the best💚
I’m an extreme extrovert by nature. [If u believe in astrology I’m a Gemini~that says a lot w/n itself.] However, I’ve been conditioned as a child to be *_introverted~socially selective._* I’m literally the life of any party by myself. I just might not want to be around ppl. I mostly prefer to be home bc I’m conditioned that way. Family functions are the only functions that could get me out the house, but that too is a some time thing for me.
The angry black woman stereotype is so annoying because why am i not allowed to experience emotion as just a human being. And its enforced from family, friends, accquaintances, etc. Its exhausting so now i just say what the hell i want to say. Receive it or not.

Girl, my life story!
Yesssss
Knowing well that you're an introvert and celebrating it is a major red flag.
This by far my favorite interview this year
I Watched this interview once, listened to the audio book, and then watched this interview again. She’s a very thoughtful woman, she talks with grace and is learning to accept who she is. I learned about myself from reading her book.
I completely agree with how she broke down being an introvert.
This is my first exposure to Ms. Golding. What a gem!! 🖤

Hey Shanequa , it’s been a long time. Congratulations on your success!
I totally get the introvert good on doing what fun is supposed to be and being used by the extra folks.
