Simon has the sickest strat tone. I can't begin to understand how he gets such massive sounds from a single coil pickup. Mon the Biff!
@@vandal_dk + Clean Fender amp running at the same time (for a more defined sound)
@@willcrump Sure, he actually runs three amps for different gain stages. All on for the massive sound. Cheers!
@@vandal_dk what's the other amp?

METAL ZONE!!
My favourite guitar player and songwriter. God bless Simon.
His dad recons I sold him his first guitar 😆 I used to work in RGM Music in Kilmarnock
Glad they did good
biffy clyro unironically is the best alt rock band of this century.
Simon’s the best
The legend with his Custom sound , that sick looking Fender Strat, and that sweet sounding Marshal. A whole package 🔥🔥🔥
What a legend of a guy ….. love BC 💕
One of the most original guitarists of the 21st century, Mon the Biff
in fairness he only plays one one scale lol... no joke... he pops the low E down to a D so the guitar is in Drop D, and he uses the exact same power chord shape and scale for every single song... I'm not even kidding. ALL of his songs can be played on the same power chord scale. it's just your standard D power chord with 3rds 5ths and 7ths added. Try it.. i sh*t you not lol
@@tonyquigley6543 Well put however that doesn't take away how unique he sounds, not everyone is Steve Vai or Buckethead however some of the most iconic guitarists know their limits and use them to the best of their ability to exert one single unique sound, Cobain, Harrison, Brian May
@@tonyquigley6543 well clearly you’ve never played a Biffy song
@@tonyquigley6543 you clearly have never learned or listened to the majority of Biffy’s music. You only have to take a handful of songs, like Joy Discovery Invention, Holy Water, Bubbles, Haru Urara, Living is a Problem, to see how wrong you are.
jeez this was a day before my birthday and this is a great gift
described the creative process perfectly for me there Simon :) Wise words from a truly great man :)
Love you loads :)
Peace
Trivia: Scottish musician Colin Hay of Men at Work came from Saltcoats, only 3-4 miles away from Irvine where Simon is from. The talent is so huge! I salute both guitarists.
Mike Scott from the Waterboys grew up in his teens in Ayr too.
Amazing, I dream of having a 'duplicate' of Simon's rig. 😍 I really wanna play it.
Love the knob labels - Cloud Of Stink, There's No Such Thing As A Jaggy Snake, On a Bang, Cop Syrup, Stress On The Sky and of course.... Booooooooom, Blast & Ruin
Seems like such a lovely bloke
I’d love to hear Simon play That Golden Rule regularly like he does here
Hey..I got the same amp and I use a Telecaster for those lovely tones of rock.
*subtitles on* 🤣Love you Si!!!
