General Colin Powell, a true officer and a gentleman. He loved this Country, and served it honorably and proudly. A truly great General, human being and American. RIP General Colin Powell, and my GOD keep you close.
This still bring tears to my eyes, he was an inspiring leader and truly loved this man's Army. I was blessed to eat birthday cake with him once, as a snot nose Captain! What an honor and privilege. I'll cherish his words of wisdom to me..RIP General.
I am currently reading his book, "My American Journey". Great read if you haven't read it do so and you will learn about this great American Patriot. RIP Sir.
I also want to know where the rest of this military ceremony is. The family may have wanted a private burial. I can appreciate that, but I also know this very important gentleman belonged to all of us. To not see this patriotic Arlington burial with all its prestigious and historic military units, band, caisson and caparisoned horse is unfathomable. C-Span would have filmed it with dignity and no commentary. It is a shame to deny this to the American public. I am sure others are deeply disappointed, too.
..well. because he was a war criminal & a traitor, complicit with the Bush /Cheney/Rumsfeld cabal....he "opted out"...flipped to preserve some legacy...but we know now....wait for declas....that makes it "fathomable"....
Coming out of the hearse, Powell's coffin was covered with the American flag ... but once it passed the cathedral door ... the flag was gone and his coffin was under a piece of large cloth ... too large for the coffin ... Who ordered the removal of the flag and why ?
@@jamyoung6195 General Powell was an Episcopalian in his faith. It is the Episcopal tradition that all caskets brought into the church or cover with a pall (the White covering with a cross on). We are all the same whether is a pauper casket or most expensive casket built by hand. If you watch the service several Bishops and priests took part in the service, this indicates to me he probably wrote instructions for every part of this service.
There is something about a horse drawn carriage at a military funeral that radiates a feeling of dignity and reverence that cannot be duplicated by any other form of movement!

yes he probably would of been but i think he saw though the BS of the American media and did't want to put hes family thorough that microscope of BS the job brings

When he wanted to bring Muslim Clerics, I could careless about him.
Is Powell sure he's dead? Or is the intelligence bad on that too?
Why did Powell get a "special" Military funeral? What entitled him to something beyond other Veterans?
he was a retired Chairman of the Joint Chiefs
