My only kriticism would be that it's quite gratuitous for what amounts to a fancy decapitation with extra steps. Ermac does not have mental magic (which is what telekinesis is), he is literally just a walking tomb of souls that there are so many souls inside of said tomb that they have the ability to reanimate the body through manipulating their position within said body. In other words he is the entire concept of Soul Magic as one being. He pushes and pulls people through some of those souls leaving this tomb of souls, and then coming back. Meaning that a cluster of highly willed souls can indeed leave his body while the rest of the souls inside physically showcases what to do (which this very obviously is). Quan Chi might be a necromancer, but historically that is through summoning the physical. The whole reason he needed to partner up in the Deadly Alliance is because he has very limited case use of Soul Magic and Shang Tsung is a sorcerer of Soul Magic, so he can then bring back The Dragon King through him summoning the wells of souls and Shang Tsung manifesting power from within those souls. Reminder that the original story of Ermac details that he was created by Shao Khan. Something Shao can't do himself, but Shang Tsung had been under Shao for many tournament cycles. Meaning that while Shao is essentially the creator of the concept, Shang Tsung is the actual papa of this walking soul tomb. I know the new timeline adds holes to this to a bit from the cutscene where Ermac appears alone BUT realistically when DOES MK follow its own lore 100% of the time? The Jump to 3D from 2D and the jump to 2.5D (NRS material) from 3D are all filled with horrible minor plot holes and every single game even has things off about how the previous one went down.
