The worst thing in Indian schools are that when a child parents fail to pay the academic fee, authorities call their name in whole class.
Yeah, previously I used to feel it normal, like for eg less marks. But as I became more mature in my teens, I realised how humiliating and out of control thing it was. Because no parent would be like "we want free education" it's just that they aren't in a position at that time...😔😔

One of the worst experience in my life. A senior teacher called me out in the class, insulted me, spread rumours that I was flirting with him, even called my parents to say that I am a lesbian, and might be a threat to the girls in my school. Reason: I wrote a Facebook post on sex education in schools because I was molested and had severe psychological scars that needed help. My parents consoled me but the school was a nightmare to me. Moral policing, dress and body shaming were at their best when I was in engineering college. They had problems with every freaking little thing. In one of many incidents, the "director" of the institution shouted at two seniors (a girl and a boy), while our entire 80 members strong classroom was watching. The fault of the seniors? They were talking to each other. Boys and girls were not supposed to talk to each other, apart from academia related discussions, they were not supposed to sit with each other, etc. It was a nightmare. I'm so thankful that it's over.

In my school if I was talking to some boy and at the same time if a teacher passes by, giving us a very bitchy look, I used to think that I have ruined my image by talking to this boy. But now, I don't give a fuck...
Even in our school, girls were punished for wearing skirts of "inappropriate" length. This was fed into our brains from such a young age, that most of us actually grew up to think that girls wearing such skirts were naughty and on to something sexual or shit. Thankfully, many of us who went on to good colleges, discovered better, healthier perspectives.
I wonder why these instances don't make it to mainstream media. Our schools are in a way promoting rape culture!

I wasn't tormented by teachers in school but I watched many classmates being tormented like this. Even that leaves a mark. The tormentee isn't the only person being affected by such teachers. Everybody watching the incident is. One of the consequences of moral policing that I faced is that I spent much of my early adulthood never being able to talk to women. Talking to women and being friendly with them felt "wrong" somehow; so I feared women for the longest time! Only at age 25 did things normalize for me.
Another problem I faced was that I automatically used to flinch whenever I saw what I perceived as an "authority figure" moving into my eyesight. The reason for this is that when I was in 2nd standard, one of my teachers used to randomly hit an unsuspecting students for their alleged transgressions such as sitting awkwardly, looking in the wrong direction, smiling unnecessarily and so on. Again, I never got hit but the message I grew up with in my childhood is that any sort of "deviancy" deserves to be punished somehow.
I'm pretty certain my entire generation is traumatized by school.
My teacher used to say that the only lesson you can learn well is your morals and values everything else is subordinate but first if you fail learning those then you fail the hardest. And we used to respect that teacher a lot.

That as a girl having short hair is being extra modern.
That the lengths of our kameez above the knee decide our character.
And wearing tight clothing is an invitation to 12-13 yrs old boys. As we girls start to hear these things in school from 7/8 th grade.
then i think i shall thank my dad who is lot good, i have always had small hair, early years i got teased and then i grew my hair and then as i was not accustomed to having long hair it became a problem to me and then i told dad lets get my hair cut.
In 10th grade my teacher told me straight to my face that, "I'll flunk you & make sure that you don't graduate unless you pay me tuition fees that I didn't take in the first place" because I was not good at that one particular subject.
So I just gave up on everything then I passed the grade to average 65% which was not my ideal grade.
Which ended up sending me to science grade but I was not prepared for it coz I already gave up on studies & had severe depression for years . But later things started to change & so did I.
I got slapped by him once after that conversation in the middle of the class while friends were shocked cause it was damn loud enough. Left a bruise in my face & tears rolled down my cheeks but I wouldn't look afraid rather I was staring him down. It kinda scared him enough to back away in a clumsy way while tripping a little.
Than I found out that he actually didn't have any power over me but still I ended up dropping school.
Yet got good grades so no one ever really cared if I was dyslexic or not.
For an average student who would have to put in 3-6 hrs of study to get an A , I'd have to put thrice the effect yet barely make it.
It broke me down & practically ruined my life .
My teacher bullied me for years not my peers. And the funny thing is that not just me but pretty much many more but no one stood up.
He made a lot of sexual attempts towards a very close friend of mine & when he tried with me I wouldn't let him.
So that was my first time to stand up against an adult & it did change me for the better.
I said That "I'm not a pushover any more & Fuck with it ... I don't care about whatever the fuck you wanna do ,I'm not bending a knee" ... and left school.
I did try to tell my mom & brother about it but they didn't understand at the moment coz I couldn't give all the details & just had an panic attack. So to save myself I just put up with it and went back to school for a few months in 11th grade but as you might have guessed my mind was messed up & I couldn't understand a thing in school. So I quite school after my half yearly.
I was the kid who would stand up for my friends since day one.
I grew up in a dysfunctional family were I was raised by a single mother ,while my dad was an absentee father all his life.
But that made me stronger in the end . I grew up believing women are no less than a man but equals. And I proud & mighty brave.
Life is funny that way coz like after a year or 2 , that teacher was arrested for an sexual attempt on a women on a bike.

There was this teacher who always kept shaming us ( the ones who weren’t good in maths) that we couldn’t think logically and also we are dal-bhaat kinda people. Could never achieve the best. In those terms.
I could never understand why most of the math teachers had a way of shaming the ones who didn’t do well in the subject, publicly.
what does 'dal-bhaat' kinda people mean. I know the words separately but not as a phrase.
@@myside2902 I did mean it as two Different words. The words were used as if to denote ordinary people who’d never achieve out of the box, cannot live smartly but only work hard. So apparently for the teacher, people who consume dal and bhaat are the ones who live life ordinarily and in a dull form.
@ actually I couldn’t have summed up this better than you did. What I took years to understand the toxicity and complexity in his personality. You did it through a paragraph.
Honestly I’ll give it to him for being a good maths teacher but at the end, it still doesn’t justify that you shame the students.
Nevertheless nicely put up observation.
I remember it was children's day & we were supposed to wear fancy clothes & so did I & my top had a detailing in the back so a teacher of mine came upto me & said that I look like a bar Dancer & she also said your mom doesn't know to pick clothes for you & believe me !! My school made us tie that karela hairstyle too but it was an all girls school so I have no idea why. Our principal once found out that some girls from our school let their hair loose on the way home from school and got really mad about it cause it was "ruining the image of the school outside" and she basically forbade us from untying our hair and going to "suspicious" places with the school uniform. As if the school premises werent enough, she wanted to control us even further

Few days back I had my maths viva ( kind of practice for main 12th practicals) and I was really very sick that day and I also had a appointment with doctor. I called my teacher and told her about my problem, she told me ' beta 5 min ke liye aa jaa, sign karke chali jana' so I went to the school and after signing my attendence I asked her that may I leave may. She told me no, you can't , go and sit silently. I told her that mam I have to go, I have told you the reason already, let me go. Then she yelled on me in front of the whole class saying that 'is ladki ko dekho ise ghar jane ki bhot jaldi hai. Are ham bhi busy hai hame bhi kaam hai bohot. Chup chap jakar seat par beth nhi to absent laga dungi.' The way she said it, brought tears in my eyes and the whole class was laughing at me. I was so ashamed that day. I still am.....
My school life was literally like a Hollywood horror/slasher movie. Every day getting demoralized by teachers like "Tu thela lagaega", my self-esteem and self-confidence getting murdered every day. it used to demotivate me a lot, In school days I had like 0 self-confidence because of these sadist teachers. I was only able to gain my confidence back when I entered the professional world as a Software developer, now I am earning a decent salary in a decent IT firm and love my job, and nobody gives a damn about your marks in the professional world, not even in any single interview I have been asked about my marks in 12th or 10th, all they care about are your skills.
The point here is that these sadist teachers won't even matter one day, just find a hobby or activity that you love and make it your profession and that really works. I found my love in programing you may have your hobbies.
I'm a teacher.. and I started this video just to check if I'm doing something wrong.... I'm glad that I've got a good training to be sensitive towards my students ❤️ because it's true.. the words of a teacher remain in our heart for a very long time... What we speak to them becomes their voice.. we need to be careful all the time.
I'm also here for the same reason
more power to you ma'am!
Came here for the same reason. I've had scars from teachers myself. Promised to never be the same kind of teacher to my students.
Comments you would see here :
1) Regarding haircut
2) Teachers themselves did not know the manners
3) Traumatizing the students
4) Proper dress
My Hindi teacher would repeatedly hit me on my knuckles with a wooden scale till it SNAPPED IN TWO for ONE WHOLE MONTH because I didn't do my homework one day. I was in 2nd grade at the time and call it dramatic but I still have trauma because of it. I was too scared to tell my parents because I was worried that they'd scold me as well and say that the teacher was right. I became very very sad at a very very young age. I have several severe traumas from school and people just brush it aside. This needs to be talked about more.
Our english teacher said to my sister... Tera kuch nahi hoga.. Shadi karke bacha paida karo.. Irony is she married for more than 10 years... She couldn't bear a child... Not making fun of it.. Its a sensible topic... We complained to principal.. And she was called to apologize. Happened in 2008.we were in std 8... ST. JOSEPHS CONVent school.... The best school in my town... All girla school. Fast forward.. 2021.. My sister is happily married has 1 son and 1 daughter and herself is english teacher in carmel school. That teacher is still teaching...
I hope ur sister comes out as a better teacher not like the others teacher.....

Our maths teacher once told a boy who was not focusing in the class that he'll grow up to become an 10,000 rupees engineer, and "aaj kal to 10,000 k joote bhi nhi aate"

Once I was talking to a senior of mine, I was in 8th standard, we were standing and talking, she called my father and complain that we were standing in a compromising situation, though I was a little girl of 14. I think that's shameful. I've always been judged by everyone because I have more male friends than female.
If I ever get to meet that teacher I'll tell her standing with a friend is not a compromising position, if her daughter will become my student, and if I do the same, what will be her reaction?
Karma gonna hit those people hard.
So in my school when I was in 6th and 7th standard, my teachers bullied me, beat me and humiliated my parents because I was "not like other girls" "i was a tomboy" "i need a psychiatrist or I might become a lesbian". It was a convent school, with sisters and all. They would beat me for no reason. I was given a transfer certificate because I didn't match up with their standards. I suffered Post Traumatic Strees Disorder at the age of 12. I suffered from Chronic Depression at the age of 15-17. I have anxiety issues from 18 - present day. I was really an innocent child, until they accused me of smoking cigarettes and drinking in the school premises to get me out. At the age of 13, after leaving that school, I started smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol. Because my parents did not believe me. I don't care about people not believing me anymore. They have ruined my life beyond repair. But I am doing better now. I have higher scores, higher potential, more knowledge, more confidence in myself. That's what all I ever needed. That school should shit themselves and die of mental health issues. They have destroyed innumerable lives. They don't deserve to live "happily". I am not a kind of person who curses people. I never do that. But these teachers and sisters, should be punished for their entire lives.
Your case is far serious than others
My hair was also tied with a rubberband in front of the whole class. The teacher never tried anything like that ever again on me😂
Why? What did you do to her?
In my school there was this one teacher who would bring rubber bands to school and would tie small ponies on boys hair...if they were long...and not just one..but many ponies....my guy friends would be so embarassed and one of them even cried because of it
I suffered from atopic dermatitis as child my skin was always cracked and oozing with blood. In third standard one of the teacher told me that I suffered from this as I dont bath daily. Really broke me up.
However, most teachers in my life have been jewel. I really owe my teachers for what I am in my life.
No joke my school has taken policing so far that actual police cars and bouncers are in my school almost all year.
There is something known as child psychology which teachers should study. They need it.

I had to change my school, change my personality(I was extrovert before), faced my confidence hitting rock bottom, started to hate myself, all because of my 6th std class teacher who favoured another girl, couldn't tolerate me being the topper and convinced other teachers I was unworthy.
I was only 12 and faced the darkest days until now.

I was in 4th standard. I had taken leave due to death of my grandfather. I failed to perform well in test. She said "your grandfather died, you didn't".
It kind of filled me with rage.
I remember when I was in 10th one of my tuition teacher was talking about career and he told me you would become a housewife and it kind of degraded my self confidence
Being a housewife is not 'low'. All jobs have values. My mother, although has some real stupid conservative thoughts works real hard. He said because he thought you'd be hurt. He is being sexist here but you're proving his point by degrading the job of a holding the household. It's fine if you don't like the job but it is not fine if you're thinking being a housewife/ househusband is a bad thing. Be happy, go live freely.

One day I wore a suit that had a light pink Kurta with white salwar and dupatta. My maths professor came in and said, "this isn't light color. This is a 'bright' color." While I was assessing the meaning this outrageous remark, she justified her statement, "a bright color attracts the attention of everyone else. You are distracting the class."
