    So with E10 now in circulation in the UK, I wonder how it would have affected the extremely powerful BMW M4 I drove. ruclips.net/video/5rQ-ngok4ek/видео.html to check out the video!
    Cheers!

    Driving a Toyota Corolla Hybrid, the first time I drove I filled up with E5 because there was no other choice, then I fully filled it up with E10 just because its cheaper and I could drive over 700km. The second time I filled it with E10 I realized the loss of power when accelerating, it was nothing like the E5 I drove the first time especially when accelerating on hills. Even tho some people say the difference in power is bearly noticable, you really feel it when you put your whole pedal down, so I'm going to change to E5 again because it doesn't feel exciting anymore when driving up hills or overtake somebody

      Cheers for the info on this. Good to have a lot of different experiences left here in the comments, so everyone can see how everyone finds it.
      I'm still on the premium E5 stuff at the moment. Ran the E10 briefly but added octane booster to it as I have a remap on the car.

      Same experience in my 2015 Fiesta Eco Boost. I only use E5 fuel. I have been told by 2 mechanics that E10 causes premature engine wear in Eco Boost engines.

      I think everyone needs to experiment,I have tried e5 in my bike at one petrol station, it sounded like a bag of nails.
      I moved over to shell e5 , bike performed better, tried E10 suited my bike even more due to the octane rating , my car can run on either but it might be a good idea to experiment as E10 can be highly cheaper, any vehicle not being used for a long time with either E5 or E10 might it not be best to drain the fuel tank in any case.

    Tested Aygo , Avensis , both sluggish , loss of power , increased consumption , also on smaller engines would give the sensation of 3 cylinder engine that rattle even if you would have 4 cylinder on your car.

    Hi man! I'm from Italy and I have got an Cupra R with stage 2+ and 350 hp.
    A few days ago I add 10% of pure ethanol into fuel tank with 100 Ron, because in my country the fuel is worsening.
    The power increase was been incredible, much more torque until 7200 rpm and also the engine sound has changed! Now the Polar Fis shows me 0 correction on the knock sensor, so I recommend It!
    Sorry for my english and congrats for your channel!

      That sounds like a great improvement from a little bit more ethanol 👌🏻
      Very strong numbers from your car anyway at 350bhp 💪🏼 And yes the fuel here in the UK isn't great just now and getting so expensive 🙈

    Ive got g20 320i and the mpg difference is between 4-5. Got 390 miles from full tank (59L) of e10 with an average 30mpg. It was mostly city driving with no more than 180 miles on Motorway. With e5, I managed to get 400 miles ( 20 miles of motorway driving). That’s like an average of 34 mpg. I have run this test twice and the results were similar. The price difference between e5 and e10 is 11pence (£6.59 for full tank). So E5 still works out cheaper. Btw all tests were run on Eco mode with heater on.

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  3 года назад

      Yeah my thoughts too at 1st, and still kind of unsure. But the government expect the cut in emissions produced by E10, along with the Co2 absorbed by the plants grown to produce ethanol, should outweigh the increase in fuel now needed as this stuff is less economical.
      It's mathematics way too advanced for me to try and figure out if they're right 😂🙈 I suppose only time will tell, along with environmental reports.

      @@NorthCoastWorkshop its true...ish for today. because most big engines dont get affected as much, but smaller turbo engines lose 10%+ economy, and as people switch to small engine hybrids and small petrols to drop size, in 5-10 years e10 will work out net worse due to this. The problem with the government they want to do something they do it and take a quote to back it from an "expert". I personally think they just want to kill off old guzzlers.

  • @Godlyhank
    @Godlyhank 2 года назад +3

    Suzuki Baleno 1.0 turbo. 55 mpg around town carefully driving with e5 V power, can fight it to get over 60. With E10 however im lucky to even hit 53 mpg when im fighting it, usually 47-48. small turbo engines seem to suffer the most...ironic as these are not the engine you want to target for emission improvments.. and small engines make up most of the UKs petrol cars. coincidence?

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  2 года назад

      Maybe not! There is the rumoured conspiracy that the government want the combustion engine off the road, and the battery motors on the road for the near future! Regardless of that, the increased cost of everyone's annual fuel bill, is shocking! Its all been sneaked in under the radar, without us, the consumer, being informed properly, of what to expect.
      Thank you for giving your own personal results, sad to hear, but very helpful 👍🏼

      @NorthCoastWorkshop  Год назад

      Hi, no need to say sorry at all, happy to try and help. The answer is, your car will run perfectly on both E10 and E5.
      If you want better fuel economy and a potentially 'cleaner' fuel, I would go for E10, though I imagine it's a bit more expensive in France as it is here in the UK.
      If you want to save money, )but potentially have slightly worse mpg/economy) then E5 will be fine and do no harm to your Nissan.
      Hope that helps 😊👍🏻

    So I think I'll carry on using the less corrosive E5, so it'll be less damaging to £ thousands worth of equipment. So I'm having to search for petrol stations who sell E5. So I've already damaged my strimmer and lawnmower through not paying attention to the type of fuel I'm using. So I'm not very happy with cheap and nasty e10. So

    • @NorthCoastWorkshop
      @NorthCoastWorkshop  2 года назад +1

      Yeah it's not been showing many positives to the use of it at the moment! And with prices at their highest level ever, it's just generally expensive to fill up regardless, so why not, like you said, fill up with better quality fuel. Appreciate you watching and commenting William 👍🏻

      @@NorthCoastWorkshop Interesting. Must be different laws/standards per country. I fueled up my car today and the sticker on the pump stated "Shell V-power does not contain ethanol." It's 15 euros more on a full tank vs E10 but I do notice my car runs way smoother on it, especially at idle/low rpm. My car is old (2002) so I'm also worried what ethanol does to my gaskets and hoses. Plus, it's hydrophilic. I don't want damn water in my gas tank! They really are bastards for adding that garbage to gasoline.

    In my 2015 Fiesta 1.0 Eco Boost E10 fuel causes a very noticeable loss of power and around 20% higher fuel consumption. I also get much more vibration or engine wobble using E10 fuel. I have been informed by 2 separate garages that it also causes premature engine wear. Ford recommend E5 for my vehicle.
