Bootstrap defeats the purpose of Hugo by adding a bloated CSS framework on top of it.

I don't use Bootstrap that much myself, but its there to help beginners out and make the tutorials shorter and to the point. You can also run purgeCSS with hugo if your CSS setup is straightforward.
