  • 'Day old chicks' contain a ball of fat known as the 'yolk sack'. The yolk sac (YS) consists of the yolk, which supplies nutrients, and the YS tissue, which surrounds the yolk and provides essential metabolic functions for the developing embryo.
Some falconers remove the yolk sack before feeding it to their bird of prey, whilst others leave it in. What should you do with the yolk sack and why?

Great video as always! I've always wanted to work with/have a raptor, but working 4 days a week I just dont have the time and work opportunities are few and far between! Watching videos will have to do

I'm sure one day you will have the time and you're doing the right thing preparing.

Hi Ryan, can you include an update on your Peregrine moulting in one of your videos ? They’re one of my favourite birds.

Hi Chris, we moved on our Peregrine a short time ago - just not enough time to fly it (and not everyone in the team is trained yet on lure swinging). We have plans to get more falcons in the future.
