Republic Services - Autocar ACX McNeilus Front Loader Garbage Truck on Commercial

Hey Everyone!
Back in the end of May on a trip to Oregon, I figured I'd take a stroll around my old area and see if I could find any trucks around 7:00am. After wandering through some residential roads in the D&O section, I heard this truck down the street and, after meeting the driver and receiving the go ahead, followed along for about an hour! Starting at Pizza Hut and ending at Union Bank, watch as this driver tackles his Tuesday morning trash route along Commercial Ave in one of Salem's standard ACX front loaders. Having the opportunity to film at these spots, all of which I used to see or visit on a daily basis for 8 years, was a fun time! Back in 2022 I recorded a short video of a WX FL on recycle dumpsters in the same complex seen at 13:24 - I was glad to catch trash this time and accomplish a full length video! Overtime (since I moved away in 2017), some of these storefronts have changed - but plenty of classics like Great Harvest still remain strong (fantastic place for a monster cookie + cinnamon pudding bread after filming!) cool to see it still sporting they original AW number decals. These were the main trucks Fresno and Merced County used before they started buying 520 Freedoms

Obviously one of the better trucks out west. Sick to see a old AW truck chugging along, ours bit the dust a very long time ago. Better than a 520 Freeodom thats for sure

Republic Services has switched from Autocar to Peterbilt for the Salem yard, so all their new trucks are 520s. I'd estimate 40% of the trucks they run are Autocar still
