You're right, they are ranked as the #1 redzone defense by TD rate, but they are below average in almost every other facet of defense PLUS over half of their defense was out or on IR. What we did in the 4th quarter on offense was amazing -- considerable poise and accuracy from Geno, and fantastic route running and catches by our receivers. The question is how we can utilize the amazing talent from our skill positions in spite of offense line woes for more than just a quarter or a half.
Seahawks will never not have a stressful game

That's Seattle.. I saw one comment after this WIN where the guy said "I'm so sick if not throwing to DK" that was AFTER the win and AFTER they threw to DK at least 5 times with 3 HUGE completions, 1 TD and one dropped TD.

@joshuawick5382 mainly when it's against bad teams, cause we all know trying to win like that all the time will backfire like hell vs good teams. While a lot of other teams keep their foot on the pedal and are way cleaner than Seattle on a weekly basis
This game was always going to be close. I don't care how many starters the Titans were missing. We're not good enough to expect an easy win over anybody. Next week is also going to be tough and the Cardinals game is no cakewalk, either. This is who we are.

Which is disappointing regardless, considering how much talent we have especially on our offense. Of course we have major holes, like on the offensive line and parts of our defense, but we still should have been able to exploit Tennessee's weaknesses (which are very bad) -- our roster was much much better in comparison. Being able to score 14 pts in the 4th quarter shows what this offense can be, but its annoying how it seems to always take this long for something to happen.
This game is soooo Pete Carroll. It’s the same old story. Score 3 and then get the ball at half, grind it out, rope a dope, blah blah blah. And Pete loves it all..

Brendon was spot on about throwing in the middle of the field. I was so frustrated about how long it took to take shots there.
Any given Sunday can be your downfall or triumph when you play football within the margins like the Seahawks have been. We're not a bad team but I still don't know what we do well, we're lacking identity.

Grateful for the win, Geno played good when he needed to but that still doesn't excuse his horrid play outside those 2 drives. This offense and defense struggled way too much vs Tennessee after last week, we gotta get right if we make the playoffs or we're gonna be 1 and done yet again

I agree with Brendon regarding the game coming down to 4th quarter against depleted Titans. That was just sad. Against Eagles and Lions, that’s fine cuz they’re good teams, better than Titans. But what the hell…why our offense so stagnant against Titans’ secondary??? 😑 We all know defense is trash..so I’m over it. I expect our defense to give up atleast 15+ points every game. 🤷♀️

Kudos to our receivers and K9. How K9 averaged 3.4 yards a carry is some festivus miracle. Kudos to our d-line (except Darrell Taylor). Another great game from Michael Dickson. Now for the bad (yeah, here comes debbie downer on xmas eve)... our interior offensive line (Brendon covered it well), Diggs laying the hit of the game in the first quarter and then turning invisible (hey Diggs - when Tre Brown stays at home to cover the run, you need to get over and take his man deep) - do something for that $1M a game we pay you, Bobby Wagner pass rushing is best player on the field, Bobby Wagner not pass rushing was horrible today. Thank you Pete for helping ruin my image of the greatest Seahawk of all time.

Help me understand why I can't stand Pete. His game day strategy is lousy. What does Pete do besides create a culture and cheer on the sidelines? THe team is the worst in penalties, can't execute in the red zone, can't stop the run on D, he calls time outs poorly, it's a night mare to watch this trash! I'm glad we won but it's so ugly to watch the strategy of our team and Pete signs off on these game plan strategies? I can't stand Pete. What does he do for our Hawks on GAME DAY. Not talking culture or motivational cheerleader but strategy?

Exactly -- run the ball only when you can do it. Stop expecting K9 turn negative plays into big ones. It's stupid. Our OL doesn't run block well and needs success passing first.
Play calling and offensive strategy did not match their weaknesses with our strengths.
This is why we can't beat the 9ers or Rams and barely beat clearly inferior teams starting 2nd & 3rd stringers. We should be throwing more on 1st & 2nd down to set up easier success running. But as usual, the Seahawks play calling and O philosophy is behind the times. Attack aggressively with your play makers!

Rams: WHAT THE HECK WAS THAT????????
Lions: What an awesome way to get a first win!
Panthers: Good but the field goals and the score at halftime were annoying.
Bengals: What are you doing offense????
Cardinals: Should've scored more.
Browns: Awesome way to end it and the throwbacks were awesome!
Ravens: And I thought Laurie Strode had a lot of PTSD.
Commanders: The most unsatisfying win ever.

Titans had 162 yards rushing. Last week Henry had 2.9 yards per rush. The Titans had no ability to rotate defensive players because of injury so they got tired.

I've also noticed with regularity that bad officiating across the board in the NFL this season. That 9ers game in Seattle was so bad I would not have been surprised if fans came out of the stands to to protest and get arrested.
There’s been blatant ref bias against Seattle for years. I’m still waiting for the RTP flag on Aaron Donald for that high hit to Geno that injured his arm.
I’m glad we won, I always am pleased when my Hawks win. Yet, we are, once again, not SB contenders. We need a stronger O-line that controls the line of scrimmage, which I wished for over the last six years.

My only complaint is, they need to stop making West Coast teams play the early morning (West Coast) games on the East Coast. Everyone can see how this affects West Coast teams. They should be given the late games automatically! The exact opposite should happen for East Coast teams when they go West, they should not have to play a late game. Nobody on the East Coast wants To stay up till 12 or 1am watching a game.

Couple things, quit running inside zone with these backs. The line can’t block straight up. Go to more outside zone and stretch plays for the run and then counters or traps. I think Gene was late on the end zone crossers because they weren’t the first or second reads and having to let everyone clear. And the defense needs to go heavier fronts against teams like the Titans and probably the Steelers as well. Bring the pressure with more than two down lineman and two LB’s.
It’s crazy to think that JSN is the difference between the team being 7th seed and controlling our own destiny or being eliminated from playoff contention.

The titans were bailing out against the run the whole game because they didn't respect geno as a passer. It burned them on the last drive because Geno finally decided to trust his guys and give them ops but worked the whole game as geno held onto the ball, took sacks, and checked down. I dont think the offensive line played well by any means but it's hard for them to do more than they did for the run game when we didn't have a threat passing the ball.

Brandon seriously. I appreciate what you do but it is getting a little old your negativity. It is hard to win on the road in the NFL, regardless of who you play. Stop with the “Titans had a bunch of 3rd stringers in”….stop. Every team in week 16 are playing with back ups. We know our limitations. We know where we are weak. The fact that we are 8-7 after giving away wins against the Rams and Bengals is solid. Pete can still coach, you might not like the run first at all cost mentality he has ( I agree it gets old) but he has a proven system. It is hard to win in the NFL….
I mean we took the W. But it hurts to watch week after week.. That „can you win a game in the fourth quarter“ stuff is getting on my nerves and costs me at least 10 years of my life.
