Service on Komatsu PC 16 mini excavator, oil, air, fuel, gear reductions

- The mini excavator that I bought this summer had a service record without details. Therefore I bought a service kit from Komatsu and changed engine oil, engine oil filter, air filter, fuel filter and also changed oil in the gear reductions that drive the tracks. Yeah it’s great and the size is perfect for me. Really happy to have it. Oil is cheap and parts for excavators is not so maintenance is crucial if you don’t want to break the bank! Mini excavators in Sweden are expensive to buy but you can get your money back when you sell so the actual cost isn’t so high.

Verkar vara ett Yanmar filter.
is this good excavators? better than kubotas,yanmars?
Hi! It has been good to me and it is a quality brand. I don’t know if it is better than Kubota or Yanmar as I haven’t had a machine from them. It is probably similar in quality.

@@NilsKall the connection on the Right backside is not under power in my pc16. Did i need second relay or somit else?
@@robertkruger9212 sorry, I have not worked with the electrical system so I can’t t tell. Everything was plug and play on my machine.

Thanks for your Video. I just bought a 2nd hand Same Excavator as yours. Do you know where to fill in the Hydrolic oil and tighten the Traxbelt? Regards Ronnie
Hi! Cool, my Komatsu has been great, I hope yours work just as well!. Hydraulic oil is filled in the opening that is in the foot area right around the door opening. If you lift the rubber-mat you will see a 17 or 19 mm hex head bolt. Open it and fill there. Remember to clean around it so you don’t get dirt in your hydraulic system. The tracks are tightened with a grease gun. I do this in another video, I will ad a link below.

Hello! I have a Bobcat E14 and I have a can of H46 / 20L hydraulic oil from JCB. The oil is called H46 JCB. Are I going to put it on Bobcat?
Hi! H46 is a common hydraulic oil but if the one marked JCB is any different is hard to tell. What does the manual for the Bobcat say that you are supposed to use? Considering that the hydraulic system on a mini excavator is really expensive I would only use the oil if I could find a cross reference that clearly says it could be used.

The technical book states that the appropriate ISO-VG 46 hydraulic oil is used. Only for the engine it clearly says that SAE-15w-40 or 10w-30 is used and for the drive wheels 80w90 is used.
@@adrianapostol5385 ok, if you look at the JCB oil there should be some kind of classification, if it is the same you should be good.
@@adrianapostol5385 according to this chart, the oil you have meets the ISO VG46 standard. Look at page 7.

You have the wrong oil for the drive shaft.
No, Komatsu says SAE30 CD oil should be used, its not the same as in other excavators.

But if the manual says so, you have to drive on it.

@@danielemanuelsson4233 true, I had to double check it because it usually is gear oil (the smelly kind) in them but apparently it's a Komatsu thing with regular oil in there. Have a nice day and a happy new year!
