    I love that you emphasize making, thrifting, or upcycling things you love and actually will wear. Things for your real life not your fantasy life. Btw, the blue sweater looks really good with your coloring.
    My fantasy self also wears dresses, but I am holding off because we've moved to a new town.

    I am watching this video 4th time in the last 24 h. I was feeling a bit down recently about one of my makes - that is supposed to look great on my body type but I just don't like it, this specific style is just not for me. I was feeling bad because I thought that at a certain point if your life you must look stylish. When I rewatched your video today I realised that I have been trying to fit into the standards of others - what they think it's stylish instead of trying to make me happy. So thank you from a bottom of my heart for this and all the other videos. You have no idea how often I go back to them and look for inspiration and wisdom and reassurance.

Have you ever done a video on any absolute flops you've had trying to sew something, whether it was the wrong kind of fabric, or a mess up in your drafting? Or...something else? Maybe that's impossible since you don't seem to make mistakes! 😂 ♥ Thank you! I'm interested to see how you resolve your challenges. You're an inspiration!

      For sure! Also.... I forgot to verbally say that in one sentence, but I did mention, that a lot of these garments are not freshly made. Most of these have been made some time ago, so it has been a journey that wasn't fast or done in a blink, so it totally hear you. Plus, if a store bought piece serves you well - then let it serve you well until it is time for it to retire :)

    Hello Alisa 👋🏻 I was so thrilled to see a new capsule wardrobe video. I have watched your wardrobe videos so many times. They are just filled with inspiration. I have been all about sewing accessories. I finished my wool backpack, my bucket hat, my quilted wallet, my passport cover, and a silk scarf. I’m really happy with all of them. I did buy one of those shoe kits that you showed on your channel and I have leftover wool fabric from my backpack so that will likely be my next project. I do have a question ..do you have any suggestions of what you can do with scrap rayon fabrics? I was wondering about a belt maybe??

    • @ThoughtfulCreativity
      @ThoughtfulCreativity  Год назад +2

      Oh yes, for rayon scraps - belt, scrunchies, maybe little neck scarves or head bandanas? I just did a Members Extra of 2 books, and at the end of Nancy's Ziemann's book there are some cute ideas for accessories, she did some neck and placket ones!

      It sure is, I upcycled it! :) You have a good eye! The tutorial is already on the channel, you juts have to put them together: use a sweater sloper from a knit bodice block series, or a bodice block with dart, just add a bit of ease to it, and then add a zipper and neckline, similar to how I did it for the floral neoprene jacket (tutorial available for Members) and add pockets (tutorial for zipper pockets is also available for Members), but there a quite a few pocket tutorials on the channel, so choose what you like :) you can also just line it and add a zipper - I have a very detailed tutorial for it on the channel as well :)
