  • Hello! Sorry for the awkwardness, this is my first time doing this sort of thing. But I like being helpful and I want to spread awareness about this awesome new device!
    Note: You might get a warning on your tuning software (I know for sure BM3 and MHD give it) that your DME needs a bench unlock or the software cannot read if it has been unlocked after doing this unlock process, but you can be assured that the DME has been unlocked if this process was successful. Go ahead and flash the tune!
    ALSO Note: This device does not work on 2021+ Supras, or ECUs with a production date of June 2020 and later. It only works on ECUs that have the soft-lock which prevents OBD flashing (which you would otherwise need to physically bring or ship your ECU to a tuning place with the proper hardware and software).

    Thank you so much for sharing! I've been waiting for the MHD one to drop, but I'm thinking I'll go with this one since it's available now.

    Thanks for making a video on this cause up until now, no one has bothered to make one. I finally pulled the trigger and bought this after seeing your video.
    What flash tune did you end up going with?

      For sure! That's why I decided to make this lol.
      I went with bootmod3, 91/93 tuned for now but I plan on doing E30 eventually. Definitely wakes up the car!

    saw your Supra at Appleton takeover at WIR. Looks nice. Hopefully I have some mods done next year I’ll try to bring my for the show too. Bought my manual one not too long ago

      Niice, I don't think I've seen a manual one in person yet. Looking forward to seeing yours next year!

      I'm actually not 100% sure... If your ECU literally says June 2020 on it, I THINK you should be okay. Honestly if I were you, I'd contact Mission Tuning and ask their opinion, and perhaps if it doesn't work, they might allow you to return it for a refund. I don't work for Mission Tuning though and I really think your best bet would be to ask them. Good luck!

    Do you need a any kind of license. Mean is this device now lock to that VIN? Or can you keep unlocked other b58s

    • @MinMax-Cars
      @MinMax-Cars  9 месяцев назад +1

      Good question. I believe it's 1 license per VIN. You can buy up to 4 licenses on their website, but if you want to unlock more than that many DMEs, you need a dealer license and would need to contact Mission Tuning.

    What power supply did you use for this? I tried multiple ones, and my M-Link dies during the check

      The Anker one that is listed in the description.

      FWIW I don't work for Mission Tuning and this information is from their website here: missiontuning.com/m-link-6/m-link.html
      There are three license types you can get with the M-Link: Flashback, Unlock, and Super.
      Flashback allows you to make a full copy / mirror image of your DME and allows you to restore that image at any time. I believe this is different than the normal backup you can (and should) do before unlocking the DME.
      Unlock simply allows you to unlock the DME with a backup before the process.
      Super is a combination of both licenses, allowing you to use both Flashback and Unlock features.
      Personally, I went with only the Unlock license as unlocking is all I needed it for. If you want to be really safe, go with the Super license as you'll be able to fully restore your DME, *possibly* even in the event that it runs out of power or crashes during the tuning process (but don't quote me on that). Your best source of information for any further in-depth questions would be Mission Tuning (email is on their website), but I hope this information was at least a little helpful.

    So we don't have to send it to FEMTO anymore?

    • @MinMax-Cars
      @MinMax-Cars  8 месяцев назад +1

      This only works for Pre-June 2020 DMEs, so if you have a 2021+ Supra with a full DME lock, this won't work.

    So would it allow you to tune for ecutek?

    • @MinMax-Cars
      @MinMax-Cars  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, this just unlocks your DME so it can be flash tuned - as long as it's a pre-June 2020 DME, you will be able to tune on any platform afterwards.

    Did you disconnect your battery

    • @MinMax-Cars
      @MinMax-Cars  Год назад

      Yes, you have to disconnect the battery before you connect the device, as shown in the video. Don't forget to leave your trunk open though, because it'll be quite an uncomfortable process to plug the battery back in if you close it.

    Does this work for 2023 supra?

    • @MinMax-Cars
      @MinMax-Cars  Год назад +1

      Unfortunately, no. With an ECU later than June 2020 (2021+ Supras) you need an overseas FEMTO unlock (at least, assuming nothing has changed super recently). This device only works to bench unlock an ECU that is pre-June 2020 and have a soft-lock that prevents flashing via OBD. Previously, you would need to physically bring or ship your (pre-June 2020) ECU to a tuning place with the proper hardware and software to unlock it for OBD flashing, but this device effectively allows you to do that at home.

    Hey is that work for all platforms? Will it work for mhd?

    • @MinMax-Cars
      @MinMax-Cars  7 месяцев назад

      Yes. All this does is assist in bench unlocking PRE-JUNE 2020 DMEs, what you decide to use to tune afterwards doesn't matter. In fact, I think MHD has a similar bench unlocking feature now that might be worth looking into if you're also going to tune with MHD. Good luck!

    Will this work on iPhone or only android?

    • @MinMax-Cars
      @MinMax-Cars  Год назад

      Since it's a web interface and not an app, it should work on iPhone. Could probably do it from a laptop even.
