I'm building this frame for a good friend, he's restoring this race bike, but I think I can certainly take some shots when it's done. I have also built the frame as an exercise (the last is already a little longer ago) because there is soon a complete project, for which a frame must also be built, but this time no replica, but something of their own.
Go for it. I have done the opposite and I am not happy. I was a tattoo artist 10years ago but I stopped because my wife's family is not convinced that I can make a living on my art.

Magnificent! I'm doing the cafe racer too. I modify the original frame, but this frame is so badly made that I would have had to rebuild one like that.
I've only built a couple frames, but I know it's always an exciting day when it comes off the frame jig. I sincerely hope this one will be nickel plated, which will accentuate the excellent fabrication. BTW, I'm officially envious of your welding. Maybe you could do a tips video for making welds cosmetically attractive.
I've just started ark welding and im not the best and far from the wrost, only been doing it for 2 months and happy at where I am. I've also only last week taken up mig welding with is a lot easier I think with the wire there for you instead of the welding rod. I'm going to get into tig welding after I've got to a place im happy with. I have a lot of motorcycles but after watching this once im good enough im going to follow this. Amazing craftmanship
Hello, I am still amazed by your spectacular way of working with finesse and precision. Thank you for sharing your videos with us, from which we can learn a lot as well as distract ourselves. All your videos are very short. Could you please tell me where I can get the sandbag like yours as well as that nylon fiber hammer and related tools? Thank you very much for everything. Greetings from Zaragoza (Spain). Marco Antonio
At this point (end of video 3) I’m hoping for 2 things: A clear coat as the only paint (Would be a shame to hide those welds and joinery with color) and Ceriani triple trees🙏🏼
I learned a lot, thank you. I saw you using aluminum tape. Have you ever tried kapton tape? I think it should be good with the temperature, and leaves very little residue.
At 15:53 on the side by side view on the fork stem of the old frame the key hole sequence part is upside down compared to the new frame, is this intentional / has a purpose?
I find TIG soldering very interesting, ( the Harrys frames are beautiful ) but do not yet have enough practice to do this on a main frame, but am already practicing diligently. Here the original frame was also welded, and since it is a replica, I have done the same.
it is for the gas flow, and when I weld a pipe, the air in it heats up and expands, this must be able to escape, otherwise it damages the weld seam during welding
Superb! It has been a great pleasure watching you build this frame. I was hoping to see the bike come to life but I guess you were employed to build the frame only. At least I know what motor it is for now...... Egli Vincent?

Just out of lack of knowledge of the welding technics and out of curiousty...Why are you sealing the frame joints with the foil strips? And why do u keep the tig welder tip for few seconds longer at the spot where you welded?
I fill the tubes with shielding gas when welding, the tape is there to prevent the gas from escaping everywhere. I leave the welding torch longer over the welded point, so that the weld cools under gas, and no oxygen comes to it.
Anyone recommend a welder for a beginner to use to learn how to weld bike frames? I want to weld together a bicycle frame that will be able to withstand a Harbor Freight Predator 212cc motor. Any tips would be appreciated. I havent done my research yet since I just thought about it wanting to make one now after watching some welding and bike frame videos.. They were either welding a motorocycle frame or a bicycle frame, but not a bicycle frame that would have a motor on it. From what I'm told a bicycle frame can easily handle smaller motors like 80cc.. but many arent sure about how long a bicycle frame will hold up to a 212cc motor. So I'm wonder if its worth me even buying this expensive bicycle or just start learning now and try to build my own frame with thicker steel/aluminum.
Very good eye, here I have unfortunately made a mistake, and it should be as on the original, it works technically as it is now, but visually it is wrong. but now you can always recognize the replica
I'm sad it's not a complete project! I'm sure many of us would like to see when it is done!

4:00 What sort of 90° square is that? I've been in need of something similar
Nice work sir!
One question: did you consider tig brazing instead of welding? It'd be interesting to know why you chose one over the other.
I find TIG soldering very interesting, ( the Harrys frames are beautiful ) but do not yet have enough practice to do this on a main frame, but am already practicing diligently.
Here the original frame was also welded, and since it is a replica, I have done the same.
Hay there , hope all is going good with you . It's been 3 weeks since you posted a video ......
show us a motorcycle on this frame!!
Nice, what’s the O.D and wall thickness of the tubes you used? (Aside from the main beam coming off the steering head)
100x1,5mm and 30x1,5mm ;)
Great content!
what are the holes drilled for before welding? drainage in case water gets inside the frame somehow?
it is for the gas flow, and when I weld a pipe, the air in it heats up and expands, this must be able to escape, otherwise it damages the weld seam during welding

Really old school. No CAD/CAM and cnc help.
a little help from CAD I had, the original frame I have 3D scanned, and with these constructed the welding jig.
But the rest I have done by hand.

Get a tig welder, it's a little harder to learn, but if you can do it, you can weld many materials, and it's clean and doesn't make a mess.
Why do you drill holes in the tube before you weld it?
So that the pressure balance works, and the formed can also flow in from the inside.
