    Having studied and continuing to study method acting it’s nice to see a non judgmental video going in depth to try to explain the wonders of method acting.there’s far to many “when method actors go to far” videos on here by channels and people who know nothing about it all.for me it’s the only way to truly act and a stat of 80% of actors in a leading role having won oscars in the last 20 years are method actors backs that up.

      Thank you. I find it fascinating. And yes, you're right, there are a lot of videos and articles on the subject who don't understand Method. A shame really...

      @@OrganicActing Thanks so much and good luck back to you too with all your endeavours. It will def be a challenge as I'll be studying in my second language (German). I can't wait to get back into Theatre again though. I used to be a Drama Teacher for students with special needs so it was more drama therapy but I loved every minute. Best job ever!

    How can i use method acting to shift my identity

  • @yavarjn2055
    @yavarjn2055 2 года назад +2

    Well what is it? What do you do in a method acting class? How do you evaluate it works? How do you train? This video was lot of history. But not about what exactly it is. It is like saying Gauss made lot of mathemaics theories and others followed, improved so on. But what is math? How you learn it? This video has little value in it. Applying your emotions in your acting. How can you be as helpless and sad as when you lost your parents. Cry as you would when emotionally broken, every night on the stage in front of all the filming crew?!

    • @OrganicActing
      @OrganicActing  2 года назад +1

      This video is intentionally a potted 'history' of Method, not practical examples. There are other videos on my channel where I approach 'the Method/System with practical approaches.
      Evaluation is getting into the realm of subjective criticism and too wide a topic for a comment thread - but - I would say an application of the technique WORKS if it is BELIEVABLE.
      Apologies if you thought the video was worthless. Some people seem to find this video helpful. Of course, your own mileage may vary...

      @@OrganicActing Thank you for taking the time. When you look at a dictionary to what is the meaning of sth you expect to see the meaning and the examples. I watched the video and still could not say I understand what it is. Or at least to know if I have to watch more. Anyways I checked out other videos and it became much better. Thanks for the video, please dont take it personal, the video could be more specific to be self sufficient, or at least have some numbering, that's all I say.

    • @OrganicActing

      Im a sceptical of the whole thing...to me it all boils down to the writers...and they are rare as hens teeth these days.
      After the dumb and dumber fiasco acting seems to be just staring into a camera for most shows..abit of screaming and crying a.few times...but then there are a few examples like in ozarks...the guy who played ben and what he did with a candy bar to show his mental illness seemed like it may of been method acting?
