I watched reruns in the 90s and was shocked finding out Penny was Janet Jackson. She was an AMAZING actress!!! They did a great thing bringing her onto the show for this controversial topic. I wish they had more wholesome shows like this today.

Watching these shows bring back fond memories of those days when my family members were all alive and together. Of course I had less responsibilities and life was more simple for me.

Alot of times, a sitcom will bring on another character to extend a series, but the Penny character really brought something to Good Times. Janet did a great job and was a perfect fit for the Wilona character. Loved it.

Recommending the final adoption should've been the biggest Christmas present for both of them, more bigger than the bike and the necklace Penny wanted to buy for Willona. Jeff knew he lied when the cops asked him did he bring those people to the party.

Relating on the abuse issue of the jackson family I honestly don't believe Janet's father was that cruel to beat his kids with whatever according to Michael...but I'm sure if the cast knew about Janet's backs I'm sure John Amos who played James Evans would definitely have made a bigger issue janet being young dealing with a strict father but aga you can't tell people how to discipline their child....
