I have nothing but contempt for Alex Jones and his staff. I worked as an instructor in a school overseas. One of the Sandy Hook families with surviving children came to our school to get away from Jones and his fanatics. Their children exhibited extreme signs of PTSD. I worked with these children daily and would still see reports of Jones doling out his highly profitable bullshit to his idiot followers while at the same time staff was working diligently to provide education and support for these obviously damaged children. Alex Jones needs to be bankrupted. If he is not guilty of defamation, then no one is.

The CEO of the company I worked for lived in Sandy Hook, and was a close friend to a number of the families affected. He was a great guy, and I watched a good man sorrow deeply for people he loved. That was far more proof than I'd ever need. How DARE Alex Jones.

Also this really shows how these people view the world and others. They genuinely think everyone else is just as selfish, self-absorbed, and in it for themselves, as they are. To them they see nothing wrong with making claims like "They're crisis actors" because that's exactly the kind of thing they would do in that situation. Which is why they see themselves as the victims, because to them no wrongdoing was committed, and this is them being "punished" for just 'telling their truth', and thus they do not, cannot, see the hypocrisy of the situation here.
Not to mention, if anyone lied about *them* they would 100% be the first ones to sue someone *ELSE* for defamation, 100%.
Unfortunately I agree. There is a fundamental disconnect on what the word truth even means, and the psychology mentioned is spot on. Most people think people like this hold the same rational and moral foundations, but it simply is not the case. I do not know if any or all truly do see the world this way as individuals, but I do know people like this exist.
When people say sociopath, they think killers or extreme awkward... But it really just has to do with a very different baseline of how to react or behave to certain situations that is abnormal and potentially dangerous simply because they do not or cannot view the world the same way. This is sociopathic behavior, presuming everyone is just after the money to the extent that reality is just an opinion.

Defamation is very difficult to prove. You have to prove the defendant knew what they were saying was false first and foremost. It’s why Donald picks his words carefully and adds “many people are saying” to a lot of his opinions that he presents as fact.
It's a civil case, jail wasn't on the table.
In my country, Alex Jones would be charged with criminal negligence, at the very least. Free speech is not an automatic freedom from consequence from saying it.

I watched it too. Remember when the jurors asked their questions and she thought that this whole thing was actors acting. It speaks volumes as to what is actually going. - In your defense, said Woman's first language is not that of English, so perhaps that explains the hesitation. A man sad something inflammatory about a judge but later regret it and went to the judge and asked for forgiveness. The judge told the man take a bunch of feathers and spread them with the wind and come back to me. The man did as he was told and when he returned to the judge he asked: am I forgiven now. The judge answered: I will forgive you when you have collected all the feathers you spread out....
The sensmoral of the story is that even if you regret spreading roomers and or bad things about some one the damage is already done no matter how mush you regret it later.

In Fact they are oblivious to the fact that they poisoned peoples brains and caused more damage to people that had just been damaged so bad they will never truly recover from it. I watched that part of the trial and wondered why the lawyer didn't call him out. He said he didn't know if it was a pill or not. Less than a minute later he said he took it himself. Both of those statements can't be true and should have been pointed out

Some people distrust the media after the Smith/Mundt was reversed. I watched the coverage live on MSM. Hell, they even reported the AR was found in the trunk. I saw it live as the news broke on CNN. It's all so sad.
