I've always had a special place in my heart for Siege Tanks. I just love the idea of a "transforming" tank that it multi-purpose. And overtime the upgrades it was given makes it both awesome and practical over some other vehicles. Instead of being stuck in its "role" it has the capacity to branch out. Maybe not as far as others, but that versatility is crucial on the battlefield. And the overall design just kicks ass. It's how I'd picture a "futuristic" tank.
This is some quality content, can't wait for your channel to get the recognition that a video with this much effort deserves. Hope to see more from you.
As a StarCraft fans this surely open up mind that how much time the spend to design, create stories and how make so interesting that most players of StarCraft miss out including pro gamer's. Thanks for the video it was really good and well explain. Hope you can continue occasionally ❤
Thank you very much. Starcraft universe is really very interesting. And you are right, most of this features lost outside the gamers attention. But I'll try to correct this ) With your support of course )
Also, the siege breakers probably stay to fight for so much long because in sc1 campaign 1, you play as a confederate magistrate who allies with Raynor, so they must remain, must be some kind of link with old friends and favors owed
Who ever has to repair those things and keep them moving probably hates them with such a complicated design and so many moving parts. Also they must be tightly packed with ammo, with having two big different weapon types and needing a lot of space for the parts to change from one mode into another.
The siege tank is such a cool design, I am not sure if it's an original idea or it's inspired by something else. I remember my mind being blown by it seeing It for the first time on the Starcraft demo (I am that old). Great job on the video.
Crucio: Justicia en paquetes de 180mm, 60 toneladas de poder, 100% destrucción. Una cosa más, ya que estamos con las unidades mecánicas, ¿Podrías hablar del Thor y de su padre, el Odin?
The funny thing is that a direct fire/indirect fire tank hybrid isn't that too far off. Most modern SPG like the Pzh 2000 or Krab have electronics dedicated to direct fire in case the frontline get overrun. The same cannot be said for most modern MBT since they don't have sophisticated computers to calculate indirect fire range
Such a deep, quality information about StarCraft. I wish I could find this kind of video for such a long, long time. Big thanks my man :) BTW, where did you find such a deep information tho? I can’t find anything as deep as your video at all
Thank you! This video collects information from games, books, stories, comics, Q&A from developers. And as the base there is starcraft fandom starcraft.fandom.com/wiki/StarCraft_Wiki , where the information is very well structured.
I always loved how StarCraft combined artillery with tanks. In other RTS's, artillery is often this clunky unit that is weak and harmless at close range - not very versatile.
Love hearing about Starcraft Lore, though nothing from Co-op is canon. Aside from the co-op stuff, I learned a fair amount of the Siege Tanks I didn't already know. Where are the Karnage tanks from, if they're from the 3rd party campaigns, then canonicity is sketchy but plausible.
Karnage tanks are from Mercenaries II mission. It's a Blizzard Entertainment Map of the Month released on January 31, 2001 following the Deception mission and leads up to the secret mission Resurrection IV. It is included in the so-called set of missions dedicated to the resurrected Alexei Stukov. These missions were released by Blizzard and are considered canon. classic.battle.net/scc/OS/motm2001.shtml As for the co-op, yes, in general it is not canon. And first of all, moments that directly contradict the canon, such as a living Zeratul or Tychus. But many points complement the lore, and may well be used if they do not directly contradict it. That is, the same Mengsk "Shock Division" tanks are canonical, and were used in the HotS company. It's just that in the co-op their functionality and features are described in more detail. Thank you for your attention! I Hope you enjoyed the video. New releases coming soon.
@@melnik1442 Starcraft 2 is quite literally the story of a totalitarian figure coming to power and then using propaganda in order to sway the masses against the people fighting for actual freedom and wage an unjust war against them. Mengsk in Coop is designed around the stalinistic mindset. Which is exactly what is happening to the home country of this creator. Putin is a dictator who controls the media in his country and uses his people as a resource to conquer Ukraine and murder those who will not submit. His own state TV is literally calling for the genocide of the Ukrainian people. So I am not going to apologize for supporting this creator's very right to exist. Slava Ukraini!

Why does Terran lack Robust assault unit to absorb hits like CnC's MBTs, Protoss dragoon and Immortal,Archon, Zerg Roach and Ultras? Their "Tank" are more like Artilery than MBTs. Is Terran neosteel not strong enough to endure Alien Terror for Vehicles?
Yes, the neosteel on the tanks is not strong enough. Especially on the Arclite models. On Crucio, the situation is better, but also far from ideal. The strongest neosteel is used on battlecruisers. Plates of such neosteel are also used on Thors, which makes it possible to slightly increase their durability in general.
as weird as it sounds being able to climb a 65 degree slope isn't that weird for a tank: they're famous for being these massive armored lumbering machines but the _actual_ combat role of most tanks has been to be able to traverse basically any terrain to get where they need to go and fight where they need to fight: a tank that needs to stick to roads and can't fight off pavement is tactically and logistically limited to an utterly crippling degree. even the very first tank ever made was designed for driving over trenches to break the perpetual stalemate of trench warfare. there hasn't been a tank brought into service by the united states military that can't climb a 60 degree slope under most conditions and most countries show similar numbers even among designs designed to operate on flatlands...not even sure how intentional it is since the traction comes par for the course with treads and armoring a tank gets more efficient the more low to the ground a design is, not to mention the more stable they are the better they shoot. on a very related note another one of those funny "this is the exact opposite of what you'd think" things shows up in tanks too: contrary to what you might expect it's actually a lot harder to take out the propulsion on a vehicle with a bunch of wheels compared to a vehicle with treads. as tough as they look treads are basically one giant point of failiure and the ONLY reason tanks use them is the sheer traction and weight distribution they offer, again the ability to traverse terrain is more important to them than any other aspect of a tank, even the main gun is secondary (if not by much). combat vehicles designed to operate in environments where they can afford to use them will basically always choose wheels since they are cheaper far harder to knock out and far less compromising to the vehicle's hull.
Probably a mass recall custom campaign that recreates starcraft 1 campaign in starcraft 2 engine. You can use either the original skins for units and buildings from starcraft 1 recreated for starcraft 2 or just use starcraft 2 models.
@@Powerslave-channel Nah, just look at the opening of the barrel of a siege tank and then compare it to a leopard 2 for example. It really is 2 meters, though their barrels aren't round.. Starcraft have really nice lore and potential for being much more than just an RTS
shame blizzard dosen't notice that.
nice first video, waiting for more
They tried making an FPS starring Nova but killed it in the 2000s
They killed another FPS in the 2010s
There are some StarCraft novels, not sure if they're any good, but they're there.

The "Why can't I quit you, Siege Tank" is a drop-dead hilarious quote, and I was genuinely surprised how Blizz came out with that one.
I will always have a love for the Siege Tank. Such a cool concept and solid design. Plus it makes sense for sci-fi. Tank or artillery? Why not both!
