The standard exhaust sound is my only issue with my Vulcan. This sounded great, and the crackle and pop as you drop revs is music to my ears. Thanks for the video, i never comment normally but this was truly perfect. The back and forth between the two versions being repeated was spot on, saved my tapping back again and again to listen mutliple times, for that you're a star. Safe riding brother!
Very similar, but what I herd , was the slash cut seems a bit more higher pitched (not by much) , and the bull nose sounded more deep muffled, not by much though either , like the slash cut has less restrictive sound from the crackles , but they both sound like the bike is breathing well and the little crackles just give it that extra character…🤷🏻♂️ can’t wait to install my bullnose delkavic , so much better than stock from what I’ve learned on the internet… thx 🙏 for sharing!!!
Either way, you'll love it. I watched a Vulcan ride by the other day (don't see them too often here in NZ), and I could hardly hardly hear it. A real exhaust completely transforms the bike!
On idle its pretty much the same but when revving and riding it there is a difference. I have the same slash cut 410mm and I love it. Delkevic also has great customer support.
The gloves are to prevent fingerprints (oils and contamination) getting on the new exhaust while fitting. Otherwise once the exhaust heats up those prints will be permanently burnt in.
Hello. I'm just about to buy the same exhaust. I expect it will be louder but how loud compared to your standard Harley Davidson? Is it about the same or even more loud?
What's a standard harley exhaust, tho? I have a Sportster and the sound difference between factory and an aftermarket exhaust is huge. Factory is quiet. In the Vulcan, even with a Delkevic, it's no where as loud and deep as your traditional sportster. Go buy it.
Hi, I’m a nz Vulcan rider too. I’m internet in getting a similar exhaust, can you tell me if this passes WOF criteria? I just failed a WOF because the previous owner drilled holes in the exhaust, and I’d hate to install a new exhaust only to fail again. Thanks
@@smackbikeNZ hi, the WOF guy failed it as there was no exhaust coming out the back. I kinda knew there was holes but it isn’t overly loud, just not compliant.
Change the seat. I took my Vulcan S from California to New York and back. Riding for one hour with a painful tailbone versus riding 1000 miles a day with no pain at all. I went with Corbin. Just check how the Corbin seat looks and find something comparable there in NZ.
It crackles because your valves are staying open more than usual because there is less heat being held in mine does it ALOT I went from a stock exhaust on a 1985 Vulcan 700 to short straight with walker side pipes and it pops A LOT due to the exhaust valves remaining slightly open
@@corneilcorneil what does a cam shaft have to do with the valves floating? Do you even know how tht means to float Valve? yea cool you can takeoff after just starting your bike in regualar spring summer weather THAT MEANS NOTHING in my region of the country it's cold all the time so if you don't warm up your bike you float valves that's when a valve gets stuck open, usually resulting in contact with the piston...but with non interference engines thy just stick open. So 1 more time dude what does cam have to do with th valves floating due to the cold air being gulped up by the engine?

It is a silky 180 degree firing short stroke, 2 inline engine and it will ALWAYS sound silly and annoying. Why mention HD? There is not one bolt on the S that makes it a real Vulcan.

Hey thanks for the video. Please answer 2 questions, 1st where did you get the driver seat back rest from and how much. Thanks
Are you able to get the bike on a rear stand with the 16?
Great video thank you
Just wnated to know how you went with the spools? Were you able to access them and lift the bike without hitting the exhaust?
Yes, the shorter exhaust did the trick!
Undo the little grub screw and pull the baffle out then you’ll notice a nicer sound and more cracking

You can plug those holes with a few bolts... then get your WOF.
How did they notice the holes - they are usually under the shroud and hidden?

@@smackbikeNZ I presume yours is WOF compliant?
@@craigphillipson4954 it was a brand new bike, so 3 years WOF.. never got to test it. What's your rego?

Hi how long did the exhaust take to come from Aus to NZ thanks
Couple of weeks I think. Wasn't too bad
On their page, under FAQ, on question if this exhaust is street legal the answer is NO
Are you able to use the rear wheel stand with the 21 inch?
Nope, which is one of the reasons why I went with the 16" too be honest.
Hi!
Slash Cut sounds better :)
Could you tell me, please - does it also fit for europian model Vulkan S year 2022?
Yes, absolutely!

Howdy. I ordered it from Delkevic directly, I think it got shipped from Australia ?
Sorry I am new to the bike world. I’m from the US, I only see a sub category for 2021 Vulcan s that would fit on my 2022 correct
They will all fit.. there is no difference across all the years when it comes to exhausts! Go for it
How much?
How loud is this exhaust how much dB they have
