He is physically gifted but he has no football instincts. When you watch Lavonte it seems like he knows what the ball carrier is going to do before the ball carrier does. Some of that is experience/film study but Lavonte was doing that from day one. White is in year 5 in the league and he looks lost on way too many plays.
Just like Patrick Queen, B.R. (Before Roquan). PQ had this same type of film B.R. It appears that the Ravens then recast his roles to emphasize only his strengths and now his “all gas no brakes” skills are paying off. TB needs a new coaching staff.
i feel like Lavonte david bails out Devin White alot for his mistakes on the field and that was very evident against the colts, the Defense also looked absolutely lost without LD guiding people to their correct spots.
He requested a trade before the season he didn’t play his best purposely he knew the team wasn’t doing anything and didn’t want to waste his time giving the effort without the contract risking major injury🤷🏻♂️ hope my eagles sign him…

Terrific honest commentary and analysis! I think if you're not on board with a player, that is something to really take seriously. I didn't realize how bad it had gotten with White since I can't see the games. I was so hoping he wasn't going to become another Broderick Thomas, yet that ship seems to be in the harbor.
He's extremely athletic but he's so over-aggressive in run fits and struggles in coverage. It's always been this way but Lavonte David could make it seem like Devin White was doing better than he was.
He was never all that good. He made a few splash plays, because of his athleticism and tendency to gamble. Even in his supposedly "good" year, his PFF grades were atrocious. And given that I literally watched every Bucs game during the Brady era, PFF was for once right on-point.

I believe since he tweaked and hurt his hip in the dallas game after tackling zeke the year after the superbowl he has not been the same. His lateral quickness has been affected significantly. His athleticism got him out of trouble more times than not. And since then he has been lackluster. His college film concerns came back to light since then. Probably wayyy off topic here, but it's at least Bucs-related. One of my all-time favorite Buccaneers was Derrick Brooks - but John Lynch was also a gem. And probably THE best was the A-Train. All true greats.
Contrary to popular belief (ie coping mechanisms) 45 has great ball skills, we saw him cover with the best of them in 2020. Vita dropped off the map. The passion and love of the game is not what modern players are motivated by.. I feel like this era’s players play to: “secure the bag”.. once that happens forget it. They become fat ezekiel elliot.
Great video! But stop being so nice! That Taylor touchdown wasn’t a juke he just ran right by him. White put NO effort into making the tackle at all.!!!!

He is our greatest liability and until, they get rid of Him we will see more struggling. He needs to be benched released. Not a great every down player.
Devin avoids head on contact and wants to grab shoulder pads which exposes him against physical players. We should've traded him for draft picks when we had the chance but management is clueless. Hopefully management corrects past mistakes going forward and acquire talent thru the draft and free agency without overpaying for below average players(davis, dean). Teams are built in the trenches first then at the skill positions. Licht just be drafting and signing random players and hope they pan out. Bowles needs to hire a DC because his defense has no passion or accountability. Canales will get better but we need to address the guard positions and then add more speed at wideout and TE. Hopefully they'll figure it out without getting themselves in cap hell again

He’ll be better under dameco Ryan insanly good LB and defensive coach that has been blitzing with the most success in the league in 2024. That’s fits devins greatest strength perfectly. So if Mike Macdonald were to sign him to the Seahawks, could it be a slam dunk FA signing?
Yep. Which is why I’m hyped to have him in Fangio’s scheme in Philly. Just a 1 year prove it deal. Major upside and no risk 🎯🎯. Great move by Howie 🦅🦅

Defense hasn’t really been good since 2020 tbh, Brady covered up a lot the last 2 years. And the 3-1 start was due to playing bad offenses.
