I carry a few cans of camping propane and a heater ever since my truck froze up in -35 weather and it took 6 hrs for them to come and get me. If your truck won't idle and everything gels up and you have no heat, you're gonna be in trouble. Trust me on this.
My 22 broke down bad and they put me in a 24. 22 had apu 24 has epu. Dont think ive got a good night sleep in this trk. Either dont set opti and worry about batteries or set opti and trk starts and shakes me awake. Dont fully know if will work but got 2 jumpstarters rated 7.5 diesels and propane heater ( gotta get propane tanks still just arrived) this trk sucks. In spring gonna try to get in local day cab company cause they run nice older equipment
Company has disabled that option should still be able to Idle tje truck up but it will shut down. TO FIX THAT PROBLEM RELEASE TRACTOR BREAK . Leaving the trailer break set .. 👍👍👍

This just bailed me out on my 2021 Cascadia right now. But my dash alarm was "Engine Protection, shutting down with the counting down and red engine brake light on". Had to quickly park by the road side and the engine shuts down truly. Fortunately, I did as you've shown and am able to move it but the RED check engine light doesn't clear.
One way is to buy hand warmers and rubber band them to the thermometer on the outside of your truck. On my cascadia it’s on the bottom of the driver side mirror
Did you finish the lease purchase with usx? I'm looking at doing it but nervous. Would like to know what happens at the end of the lease if you could share that info it would make things less stressful
I’m currently in a lease with USX it depends which lease you do. I have the yearly lease. I tried to buy out my truck 4 months ago but I could do it. They said 50k and it’s yours (mind you it’s a 90k truck.) so since I couldn’t get it I had to switch trucks and start over. When you do it CHECK YOUR TRYCK BEFORE YOU SIGN YOUR NAME ON THAT CONTRACT. I’m saying if they let you test drive it do that even before leasing it. But the best part about it is it’s a walk away. Well mine is anyway

This is what happens when people with no real world experience make the law: it is - 40 outside and I'm trying to warm the truck up (did get it started) the MV3 valve always leaks in winter but it's worse at this temp, should stop when the cab warms up the O rings
I recently frost-burnt my fingertips in Laramie at -22 trying to bend stiff fuel hose to try loosen up diesel. Hour and a half at two truckstops before found a pump that worked. That was *new!*
I think by law they have to if you have a pet? We worked for Quest for 10 years then kllm bought the company last year. Downhill ever since. Never had to worry about sweating or freezing in our trucks before now

I simply said “so you want me to quit?” Of course my DM said “No. we don’t want that at all”. But they wouldn’t change anything. Needless to say we changed companies in less than a month and now we haul exotic cars and make over double of What we made at Quest/KLLM. FYI: almost ALL of the quest drivers left and a lot of DM’s and office people left. Even the shop supervisor left. Freddy ( he use to do orientation) and his wife Amy went back to driving trucks. KLLM said “nothing will change”. And of Course EVERYTHING changed. Good riddance. On to bigger and better things.
I work with KLLM and let me just say one more year and my truck will be paid in full, that company will not ever see me again worst company to drive for. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM!!!!

Should be illegal, I have the sleeper heater an all that but it cancels its self around midnight to 1 am. Sucks waking up freezing or burning up covered in sweat. How is anyone supposed to get a good night sleep. All this fuel efficient shit is killing my sleep time.

I hate this truck. It was 50° out and was like 90 in my truck so i had the shitty AC running and it turned off in the middle of the night. Woke up sweating my ass off and i couldnt go back to sleep. That shit can kill you. What ate you supoosed to do when its -30° outside or 110° and the shit turns off while your sleeping... ffs

I know the Quest trucks had a heated fuel lines. This came in very handy when we were stuck in WY in December. The temp was -27
But felt like -44.

No, your company just disabled it and you’re out of luck
If you're connected to a trailer, make sure you're in neutral, then release the tractor brake making sure that the trailer brake is engaged
This does NOT work in a 2023. KLLM will NOT shut off our optimized idle even though we have a service animal that is a Siberian Husky.

What i do is that i release my tractor breaks y it keeps running😊
Even that trick doesn’t work on mine, it’ll allow the truck to idle longer, but only by like 10min or so.
