I was talking to the guys on the maintenance crew for the Michigan capital building, and they said that whenever the roof leaks a little, the ceiling in that area will inevitably start to peal in almost exactly six months.
i wonder why someone like this this doesn't have millions of subs.....he clearly has passion and the drive....with almost 300,000 subs, it is outstanding, but for the work he does, he deserves so much more.....
Wow, that's a sweet set up you guys have there. Grand to see like minded souls pooling their resources to make things happen, in a good way. Kudos to all. Look forward to seeing further output this year, from yourself & associates.
Seeing Space Crusade and a Boglin in the opening shoot gave me a hit of nostalgia I wasn’t expecting. Especially the Boglin, which I had forgotten ever existed in my childhood. And now I’ll see it in my nightmares!
Your office reminds me of the local computer shop in the 1990s. Large cupboards to the ceilings filled with random stuff and an area behind the counter in about 5x as much chaos! I remember spotting a Master Gear on a top shelf once!
@@MadGaz85 I definitely think that isnt THE sofa he films on. go to any ashens video from around the time of this video or even now and you can see neither the couch or the wall behind it match up
It's quite amusing that all the DYKG guys are in a space half that of NN & Ashens. Glad you guys got to get out of your bedrooms anyway. I've been working at home for 10 years and while its fine it would be nice to get out of there some more.
Nice to see that this guy lives a life just like us plebians. Full of stuff, slightly chaotic but fully dedicated. I´m always baffled by those super-clean, minimalist (apartment?) set-ups that some youtubers have (and how they manage to keep that up).
That looks ,like a pretty nice place and from what I heard from other youtubers it seems like a good idea to really move all this stuff out of your house so you can really seperate your working and home hours
This was a nice watch, suddently I feel my small room full of cupboards spewing open with games and memorabilia is just not cutting it. Keep it up man, I'd never give up a space like what you guys have if I had it
This is so interesting, and somehow makes me feel ten times more productive as well. This messy uni student is inspired! EDIT: Also I am SURE we used to have a Precision 3100 like that at home (is that its name? I don't know tech stuff; I just like watching it on RUclips)
Wow, you guys really do have the dream job. Those offices remind me of what it might have been like to work on one of the classic video game mags back in my early 90’s like Mean Machines or CVG.
In our Office we set aside a central area for retro computer storage, sure it isn't as neat as we'd like it to be but it keeps our actual work areas a lot cleaner!
I really got the nostalgic feeling just watching through this video. With the amount of stuff you have, that building could even be a retro-tech museum. 😂
I admire your space, as a RUclipsr, artist, and photographer, my space is divided into 3, I wish I could have that storage you have. In NYC our office space is expensive. I rent out an artspace and that is long, but no windows. Looking at this video, I am inspired by your organizing I use Kallax as well, I usually find and repurpose them from an upscale neighborhood I find them in, def going to restructure my studio after this. Great video mate!
Shacking up with people, roommates. Sounds good but usually turns sour. I mean Ashen's has to drag the brown sofa with him everywhere and all that rancid food and poundland gimmicks.
Hi, can you please move that copy of Descent 3 so it's after Descent 2? It's making me anxious to know that this is a thing that has happened. Also, congrats on all the growth over the years. Ya'll living the dream and stuff. Also, also, Heck yeah Manta Force was rad. I had that one and the Black Barracuda. My brother had the other ship... Red Venom I think it was called. They were awesome.
For me the most perfect video would be ahens, nerdcubed, Larry bundy Jr. And nostalgia nerd all meeting up for a video, even if its just for the intros
Seriously, I actually freaking love your bedroom videos. There's an honesty to them that can't be replicated with a new office. I know its better for you now, but pun fully intended, I think your older videos are more nostalgic. Don't that that the wrong way or anything. Just a comment. Also I miss your quick play videos. And the ones where we would watch old shows together.
I was thinking the bit at the end about it being “our” videos was cheesy but it kind of is, in the sense that (for me at least) most of the enjoyment I’d get from most of this (beyond what I’m personally nostalgic about or want to try writing code for,) is the novelty of seeing something for the first time , seeing how it works , learning about the thing, sometimes disassembling it, but most of the time even when I have a good find irl it gets used like 3 times then sits on a shelf collecting dust. RUclips videos also take up less space and get less spousal complaints (as long as she isn’t made to watch the videos 😂) Loved the tour, hope the others either have tours posted or will make one, I’m super curious if the statue is just a joke about ashen’s POV while recording a video lol
Imagine how packed it would be, if Octav1us hadn't nicked 50% of everything. Where's her cupboard, anyway? Seriously, a random Suikoden 2 just adorning the wall. I do have a question, is there a video on the flight controller at about 4:02?
I love that in an age where we (finally) don't have to think too much about video standards, NTSC vs. PAL (or SECAM if you had to bother with that), interlacing, et cetera, et cetera, since no displays are locked to the mains frequency, and therefore basically every standard HDTV and display is capable of 60 Hz -- you're filming in 1080p50 :()
10:58 Hey, Mindtrap, I've got that. 15:53 Oh, Tomy Tutor Play Computer! I used to have that! I guess it's in the loft or something now? Much nostalgia...
love the collection, puts my small collection of machines to shame - watching the video it is ooh, would like to have that and that and one of those as well. Look forward to your future videos and may your successes continue
I can't believe Yuji Naka just comes by to chill out. I thought he'd be busy working on his new game at Square Enix, but he still finds the time to visit.
Did you just really expose where Ashens records his tat on a brown sofa? 😂😂 Nah it makes sense to in an office to be fair, that way it can be more personal and doesn't clog up space at home
Hell yessss, I remember some tobacco stain stylee Apricot computers and I did my first batch of computer training on them and they had those LCD microscreens on the keyboards as we played and modded ghetto versions of Tetris on them in the early 90's. Happy times.
Following your footsteps. Alredy have 4x4 kallax full of random pc stuff and few whole computers next to it. Next step is to get small room and bigger kallax to fill.
There is plenty of free storage room at my place the only catch is you will need to mail the retro gear down under (that is Australia for the uninitiated)
Aw, an LGR disk on the wall. I'm honored!
Lovely-looking and cozy workspace, I love this kind of video 👍
This reminds me of your stuff. If you were also there it would be the ultimate crossover.
love this stuff too :)
Greetings to the almighty LGR! :D
Did you see the woodgrain radiators in the second office? I thought of you as soon as I saw them. :D
Still waitin' on your tour, Clint - unless you've already done one and I've missed it...
You've shattered the illusion, I thought Ashens filmed from his mums sofa.
William Fenton Indeed!
Who's to say he isn't, could be they upgraded and he snaged it from the curb.
I could just imagine popping into the building and into that hall! Then Ashens saying... Well... “HELLO”
Something tells me that "small roof leak" is going to be an issue sooner or later. Don't keep anything you're not willing to lose near it.
"... Small roof leak" also could lead to rotten drywall, mould, mildew; nasty stuff.
There is no such thing as a small roof leak lol spot on comment!
It's ok, he has a small plastic bowl.
I was talking to the guys on the maintenance crew for the Michigan capital building, and they said that whenever the roof leaks a little, the ceiling in that area will inevitably start to peal in almost exactly six months.
We have a roof area at my office like this. New staff learn the hard way
I was looking forward to a proper look around Stuart's office :(
Ashens the man who sits on the floor and eats of the couch
I read your comment using his voice ;)
"Stop going through my bins" - Ashens
"Stop going through my bins Ashens!" - Everyone else.
Ways to have your office:
chaotic: Nostalgia Nerd
neutral: Ashens
clean: Didyouknowgaming
My space tends to be neutral.
Despite preferring neat and tidy, spacial restrictions limits what I can keep where.
@Michael O Callaghan I´m honestly hard on the chaos side, Chaos relaxes me, I find my own system in it :D
@@Christopher-N Same. That and the fact that neat and tidy and easy-access are sort of mutually exclusive at least for me.
I'm definitely chaos. If my favourite pencil isn't buried under something I'm not happy.
Love the stuffed Horace, appalled at the way Paul Andrews treated Octavius.
What is this, the carrot and stick method of commenting? 🤣
I’m glad someone else addressed it. That was douchey.
i wonder why someone like this this doesn't have millions of subs.....he clearly has passion and the drive....with almost 300,000 subs, it is outstanding, but for the work he does, he deserves so much more.....

As a lover of retro tech & a minimalist, I both love & detest your space...you glorious bastard
I find it amusing that all these videos are being created above the job centre. Good work 👍
Your office reminds me of the local computer shop in the 1990s. Large cupboards to the ceilings filled with random stuff and an area behind the counter in about 5x as much chaos! I remember spotting a Master Gear on a top shelf once!
I am stunned how much of that stuff I have owned or still have. Awesome.
Wait, Ashens doesn't work in his home in front of his sofa?
VERISIMILITUDE COMPRISED
my teen years are now ruined
Well there goes my immersion.
There's also no sofa. Well, not a full sofa. Anymore. Just a piece of sofa, large enough to film.
he used to, the sofa's in his office doesn't even look like the sofa in his videos though
@@MadGaz85 I definitely think that isnt THE sofa he films on. go to any ashens video from around the time of this video or even now and you can see neither the couch or the wall behind it match up

Man I had that 90's robot! That tripped me out I hadn't thought of him in forever.
I think you have your office 'feel' spot on, constructive hoarding love it. Good luck for 2020

My house is filled with Kallax shelves too, but they're full of vinyl.
Great to see you all expanding especially when I watched from nearly the beginning both you and Stuart.
I’m too broke to give to my favorite YT creators but I humbly offer a like and this comment. Thanks for giving my broke ass some good entertainment!
out of everything retro... That c&a bag will outlive them all... and has not discoloured!
So bogglins aren’t a elaborate Jimquisition prank.
Wow you living the dream lol - nerd heaven! Enough content to last a lifetime. Good luck I wish you all th eluck in the world! Keep up the great work.

Oh man, that classic Space Hulk mug is indeed glorious.
22:21 Ashens’ appears to house half a man in there too.
It's a Stone Temple Pilot, he's *♫* _half the man he used to be._ *♫*
I apologize, that was a terrible joke, albeit nostalgic.
Glad to see that Space Crusade made it to the new office, love that game! Cracked a brand new copy a while back :)

2020 and still nostalgic! :D
Loving the studio man!
1:22 That room looks like a nostalgia paradise
Lovely video! Such treasures! Nice to see that book there too!
Damn, that's one hell of a mug, would expect nothing else from Sir Ashens.
Wow! I remember Manta Force! I had the Black Barracuda and Red Venom, plus some other bits. Totally forgot about that until now.
Stuff piled on stuff piled on stuff in no particular order. You're my kind of collector Nostalgia Nerd!

I'm going to pretend the thing I was most excited about, wasn't that C&A carrier bag @1:58 :)
Saw something really rare in Nostalgia Nerds collection at 1:57 so jealous. Its an original C&A plastic bag 😯
The Retro Byte --- C&A still exists in Europe... Too bad we are leaving...
Coulden't Ashens go with u, Looks a great collection, Great to c u have the space, Carry on good work.
