- Helen had a terrifying experience with she now believes was one of the most horrifying CRYTPIDS known as the WENDIGO.
Here encounter took place in Manitoba, Canada in 1997 while mushroom picking in the Agassiz Provincial Forest. The creature called out to her in a human voice asking for help, but when Helen attempted to leave the area to get help, it chased her and continued calling to her for help and even said her name!
This is her encounter.

Why are some people so lackadaisical with their safety? This woman was bringing a gun for bear protection, but the cartridge was too underpowered should a bear attack her. Why bring the gun at all if you are going to choose comfort over safety?
That I do agree with. I’d rather carry spray for black bears myself.
Cool story. But the wendigo with the deer head was made up in like 1994 from the movie Wendigo. Before then, wendigos were never said to have deer heads or antlers. Love your channel dude.
Thanks! I have heard stories before, and as a kid of them matching the same description. Then again I have also heard of Skin Walkers taking on a similar form. Either way, Helen was quite shaken by her experience that day and what she had seen.
Some believe there’s a nugget of truth in Hollywood concepts-that VIPs find out about things from gov/political friends. Maybe that’s why it’s referred to as Hollyweird….
You are absolutely right. Their is an entity called the Wechuge which Hollywood merged with the Wendigo appearance wise. Wendigo do not have antlers at all. They look like very tall, pale, emaciated people that are usually hairless. They are said to have chewed off their own lips in their insatiable hunger for human flesh. So either this person encountered a Wechuge or they're full of BS
Great channel, and the best story telling ever!!!
Thank you so much!!!
Haha-love your intro, and that you get right to the encounters. Great video.
Creepy events-she was being herded. Thank gosh she’s so smart, and left. Even bf mimic voices like saying, “Mommy.”
Thank you! That’s very much appreciated.
It’s pretty scary to think of the intelligence required to try to lure someone in like that. Not something I would want to experience.
I grew up near the Ojibwa in Minnesota. They warned my Mother of wendigos.
There are a lot of stories from that region. Thanks as always Joe.
@@darkwilderness2392 she handled it better than I would have.
Story goes like a fairy tale, amazing.
Its a creepy one that's for sure. Thanks for commenting!
Life is really not what it seems my friend, that's for sure. It often times makes no sense whatsoever.
Great job as usual, good to see you back.
God bless 🙏❤️👍
Thanks as always Tom, and you sure hit that nail on the head.
Crazy crazy story!
Thanks as always John!
It wasn't a Wendigo, they don't have antlers. It was probably a Wechuge or Skinwalker.
Hm thanks for sharing
great stories man
Thanks!
It called her name? Pure evil 😫
That would be terrifying.
There is a movie called Dawn of the Beast. It has Wendigos in it and a Bigfoot battles with them
never seen it, ill have to look it up
Sounds like a skinwalker. That's very terrifying. Not familiar with Wendogo
That's terrifying.
It is freaky, I’ll say that! I’ve heard a few stories about encounters in the same area. I drive right past it when I go to my hunting property. After all the stories that have been shared with me from that side of the province, this hunting season will be interesting!
@darkwilderness2392 Yeah, that's so scary. I'm Navajo, though I didn't grow up on the reservation. But I hear a lot of these types of stories from the Navajo community.. I hear the individuals who practice the craft always have the worst of intentions. Fortunately, I haven't encountered anything like the folks whose stories you tell. Whew.
A .22? Really!
I would personally carry something with a bit more hitting power.
I guess I'm early.
You are! Thanks for the comment my friend.
