Probably one of the most under rated singers of all time, this guy still is an incredible singer, if you have never heard him sing you have missed something very, very special.
yea he is a great singer with wounderful lyrics ,, i always loved leos songs ,, his heart must have been broken at some stage ,with the passion he puts into a song
Oh my.. I passed by the stage to take a photo in one of his concerts and was invited up and he sang this holding my hand.. One of the loveliest memories in my life
Went to see him Saturday in Worthing his voice is still so powerful makes me cry this song as it’s what I play to my husband who has advanced Alzheimer’s 😢❤️
Oh that's beautiful Lorraine and especially for your situation that you have going on just now, I'm seeing a similar situation with my uncle here in Glasgow who i incidentally met in Tesco yesterday, 75 years old and widowed, vacant stare walking round the supermarket, anyway I also love Leo, reminds me of my childhood growing up as a toddler/infant in the 70's, songs from that era are imprinted in my head, take care and all the best ❤@@lorrainefilmer3518
I've recently been back in touch with someone that broke my heart way back in this era. It was for the best although I didn't know it then, one of our first dates was seeing Leo Sayer live, 76 or 77? Happy times.
@@TomuCow The answer is a resounding “f**k no” when you compare this performance to that of present-day singers’ use of auto-tune to disguise their vocal shortcomings. Leo’s vocal chops needed ZERO assistance in his singing hay day.
Had never heard this song before. Yesterday was the first birthday of my mum's to come since she died last year so I ended up watching old home movies and found one of her from 1990. She was sitting in the soft, warm light of the old living room, eight months pregnant with me, and with this song playing on the radio. She looked tired but happy as she watched my brother making a mess. This music over the relaxed scene really was beautiful. What a soulful voice.
Brilliant song & singer, there were four of us construction workers,in Arabia we all had girl friends in the UK, I had a cassette of Endless Flight, my mates had Barry White, Carpenters & Billy Joel, we played them all the time , made us home sick! but we stuck it out . The problem was getting batteries for the radio cassette player, it was playing the tapes or the BBC world service, this song brings back a LOT of memories.

Dear once-upon-a-time fourteen year old who is now eighteen ... GOD bless thee for thy good taste even at a young age ... thou art specially special!!!
What a beautiful song, I love the way he sings it.. It's fresh and high, still, emotes sadness and torment, "No, I cant stop loving you, though Ive tried".....

A true classic! You can listen to this song any day and at any time. Any person, no matter what age group will be able to relate with the lyrics. As for me, I became a total Leo Sayer fan in the early 80's.
U know that moment when a song just starts playing in your mind...havent heard this song in decades but today it just popped unexpectedly!!! Beautiful song takes me back to my youth!!!
saw leo sayer in 1978 at newcastle city hall.for the first show people sat outside in the street listening to him ,fabulous when we saw the second show just couldn't believe how good a singer he was
Dear Kevin-of-Wardle ... the dear Leo only eternalises that raw-organic-natural talent of the 1970s that will move many in all the generations that will ever come after that decade.
Watching Phil Collins documentary and he says he heard this playing while getting a massage after skiing and he got it stuck in his head and kept singing it all day. But he thought he could do it over but he didn't want to just do a cover, he wanted to add a new slant to it. But he had no intention of putting it on the album they were working on at the time. When it came time to pick what songs to put on the album, this was one of the ones everyone thought needed to be on the album. Long story short, when the album came out this was the biggest hit on the album and Phil chuckled, "and it was the only song I didn't write."
Thanks for sharing this story. I wanted to know why Phil C covered it, and I get this answer. Now, I want to know why Celine Dion covered Leo's very popular song : When I Need You ?
he first came on the scene dressed as a clown..he admitted he was short and had a massive perm and he hid behind the makeup..interestingly american soul singers who had a jam with him one night raved about him and had their respect as a singer
I'm so proud and honored to be able to be in one of his concerts recently held here in Sri Lanka. He a very humble human. I enjoyed his performance alot. A huge fan of this mans music since child hood. Now I'm 31
I'm gonna spend the next hour or so looking at his early clown stuff, this is the voice of the 70's, takes me back to my early childhood, I love this comfort zone ans secure feeling, Leo magic
Effortless brilliance
agree! If we can see how good these previous artists are.. Why can't they see our generation?

a very under rated singer..too many people dismissed him unfairly
Didn't really listen to his music in my youth, but I got to say I certainly love his music now, great voice, great lyrics. Smooth and soulful.
Never really heard too much of him on the radio in his day,,,,,he certainly has the vocal talent, great music.!
randy vanwarmer too (just when I needed you most)
People of taste know of him , it's the quality of the audience not quantity that counts.
Absolutely, dear Darryl-of-Kee ... who is not emotionally 'off-key' ... rhyme!!!
Great song. This is exactly what a broken man sounds like when hes lost love.
Only so well put, dear Frank-of-Crawley!!!
My ex wife told me to stop loving her.... But no self respecting loyal guy could never do that.... Hope she happy on her green grass 👍
So true
Yes 2022 my mum loved leo Sayer plus a lot of 60s 70s and 80s bands I think she was too early she was brilliant she died aged 90 91.
If today's youth accidentally watches/listens to this instead of Taylor Swift's attempt.... they'll have discovered what great singing really is.
exactly ,,its just rubbish compared to this man
Hauntingly beautiful. No one does pain better than Leo Sayer.
Phil Collins
Well Phil made it successful and Taylor Swift is bringing it back again..
